We enjoyed our visit to the Fukuoka Tower - the views are spectacular of this amazing & beautiful Japanese city.
It was a windy day & I could definitely feel the tower move - all in all a fun experience for someone like me who does not do heights!

Fukuoka Tower is a 234-meters iconic tower in Fukuoka, and the tallest seaside tower in Japan. Visitors can take the elevator to reach 123 meters level, the highest point of the glass-enclosed observation deck. Upon arrival, the 360° panorama views wide open to you. To the east you can see densely populated business districts and skyscrapers around Hakata Station and Tenjin area. To the south, the cityscape won the Asia Cityscape award with Sefuri Mount in the distance. To the west, you can see the waterfront area, where yachts of all sorts docked at the harbor and Momochi Seaside Park, a mecca for the popular beach sports. To the north you can see the glistening Hakata Bay where you can watch the huge bright orange sun slowly disappear to the western horizon. It’s the best place to enjoy the majestic moments of the sinking sun. You will spot Marizon, a seaside Momochi waterfront property and business resort, offers event venue rentals, professional bridal photography and bridal shops, restaurants, water sport rentals and other boutique shops, The exterior of the tower is covered by 8,000 half mirrors that makes the tower appearance more of a skyscraper than a metal tower itself and allows the mirrored images reflect upon them like a giant mural. In between the ground floor and the three observation levels above, there is an open hollow space crisscrossing with tons of skeletal metal support beams. The 111 meters television mast above the observation dock topped the total tower heights. If you are in a serious dating relationship with a significant one, or if you are a married couple, wishing to renew your marriage vows, don’t miss the Lover’s Sanctuary. This special corner, with window views of the glistening sea and skyscrapers in the backdrop, is decorated with a giant love heart arch and tens of thousands of love locks secured on the oath fence. The romantic setting invites you to the photo opportunity of a memorable outing. It will surely make your trip worthy and exciting.
Tower Opening hours: daily from 9:30-22:00 (last admission 21:30).
Entry fee: 800 yen/adult.
To get there-
Option #1, If you arrive at JR Hakata Rail Station, follow signs to the Subway Station. Take the Airport (Kuko) Subway Line (orange color K Line) at Hakata Subway Station (K11) and get off at Nishijin Station (K4). Take Exit #1, follow Sazaesan Street and directions toward Fukuoka Tower signs, about 20 min.by foot.
Option #2, Take the Hakata Exit from JR Hakata Rail Station. After the exit you will see a huge open-air plaza, a.k.a. Hakata Station Ekimae (meaning front part of the station building). Head to the Nishitetsu Bus Stop A by the street (Bus Stop A is near the West 9 Exit, alphabet A is clearly visible on the structure.) Take bus #302, or bus #6, get off at "Fukuoka Tower South Exit”, ride about 33-40 min., fare 260 yens.
Option # 3, Take the Hakata Exit from JR Hakata Rail Station and turn right, walk about 5 min to the end of the plaza, you will see Hakata Bus Terminal (near West 3 Exit). At the ground level, take Nishitetsu Bus #306 at platform #6, or take #312 at platform #5 and get off at "Fukuoka Tower South Exit", ride about 27 min., fare 260 yen.
Return by bus-My advice is to ask staff at the info desk for assistance since there are two bus stops to locate the bus lines you need: Stop A by the TNC-TVBLDG, walk to the Tower front plaza, turn left in a narrow alley between Lawson and McDonald to reach Fukuoka Tower Bus Stop A. Or head to Fukuoka Tower South Exit Bus Stop B. Ask staff to check the timetable to find which bus stop and the bus # suits your needs. You can also search for the Nishtetsu rail website to plan your trip.
Tips for the trip: Be prepared if you select your time to arrive for the sunset views, expect a large crowd of visitors. You can also plan your trip to visit Ohori Park and its Japanese Garden first, then head to Fukuoka Tower for the sunset views.

Given that Fukuoka city doesn’t have many high rise buildings, one would be impressed by the height of Fukuoka Tower. We were fortunate to visit it on a sunny clear day. It’s easy to do this trip on your own by bus. Suggest you take a walk to Momoji Beach first before you go up to the Tower. You will be able to take photos of various angles of the Tower from the ground. Go to the toilets on the ground floor next to the ticketing office before you purchase tickets to enter as there are no toilets for use at observation decks. Once you enter, enjoy yourselves and take your time to see the sights. There’s a cafe in there with great views but it’s easily full.

Fukuoka Tower is actually quite cool. In addition to the beautiful views of the sea and the city, the Tower offers several activities. Funny selfies, fortune telling, stamp collecting... is fun!

On the second day of our 6N/7D stay in Fukuoka, l brought my two grandchildren to Fukuoka Tower as it was on their list of places to visit. Grandson, age 17 and granddaughter 14 were happy with the visit.
Tower is 234m tall and Japan's tallest seaside Tower. There are 3 floors offering 360 degree panoramic view. Start with 3F to get the seaside and urban view. Good floor for photo spots. 2F is for cafe and dining. IF for fun and lovers.
Level one the standard souvenir shop and FamilyMart.

The tower is located a little away from the center. But feel free to rent a bike so you can visit this, along with some other things like Momochi Seaside and the fake Antwerp Cathedral (if that interests you, lol).
The view at the top is worth it.
Strangely enough, the tower is hollow (see also photo). There is only the ground floor, and the three upper floors (observation deck, restaurant/bar and varied tourist traps respectively).

Fukuoka Tower is a must-visit destination for many people traveling to Fukuoka.
Unfortunately, it rained on the day I went, so I couldn't see the view as far, but that still had its own charm. If you go on a sunny day, you can enjoy the beach atmosphere and it would be even better.

Super top experience, it's worth it, but it's important to know that the tower moves and you feel it. Even so, the experience, the view, is very pleasurable. Be sure to read the pamphlet and find out what activities you can do up there, some without paying anything extra.

It is a tourist attraction that is open on January 1st, so there is good Korean language guidance, and there is a souvenir shop and convenience store on the first floor. The observatory is well-maintained, and you can get stamps, take pictures with QR, and if you go one floor down, there are fortune telling with fortune telling, pinball, and a heart-shaped photo spot. It's fun, and the staff are friendly. Photos are also taken for free on the first floor. It was a fun place with a view of the city and the sea.
