Authentique, difficile d’accès. Il faut passer par une agence qui travaille avec des guides locaux, passionnés et sympas. Hani, de l’agence Nature Escape and Discovery (+60 19766 3675) se met en quatre pour vous. Trois jours d’immersion fantastiques!

We travelled to Endau Rompin during Vesak long weekend from Singapore via JB.

We spent 2N2D at the Selai entrance. Taxi Trip from JB to Bekok town was 2h30 for 400 MYR. Bekok town is where you register for a park and you will pay for all activities and transport to the park.

In total we paid 1600++ MYR for two nights at the family chalet for five pax, Including night walk, waterfall trek guide and tubing activities. (200 MYR per day for the guide, 300 MYR per night for the family chalet, 40 MYR per pax for park entrance for foreigners)

You need to bring your own food and will have to take the trash back to the town to discard it to avoid pollution within the park.

Tubing was super fun but be sure to wear a helmet.

Leeches are everywhere, we went for the main hike (6h) to takka Tingi back and forth. It was challenging and we were all considered very fit. Make sure to wear long sleeves and leech socks. The waterfall swimm and view at the end was really worth it. The guide was very friendly but spoke limited English. Make sure to learn some basic Malay Bahasa.

The accomodation were simple but clean. Make sure to hide your food while away else the squirrel will sneak in and steal your food. We brought a gas stove, some pasta and canned food and lots of water for the trip. They provide a kettle and that's it. A family chalet is good for 4 pax max but if you don't mind sleeping on the floor more People can fit. There is no aircon but the fans do the job at night. We were the only one in the whole park except a few people camping raw further down. Which was very enjoyable.

We saw lots of Insects, birds, fishes, some monkeys but no bigger mammals unfortunately despite elephant poops everywhere. Surprisingly not many mosquitoes.

I recommend it to fit people who enjoy nature and some challenges. There is limited to no data in the park. Great way to disconnect. I don't think it's suitable for children though.

I went with my friends of 3 to Endau-Rompin National Park (Peta) entrance. Overall, the park was beautiful and very clean, mostly because it is actually well maintained. We contacted Lop to arrange for a 4D3N chalet stay over at Kampung Peta. We payed around 750 ringgit, and truly, it was really worth for the money we paid. Chalets were actually decent. It's a good place to rest after a long day of activity.

To be honest, the place is very ulu, it's about 50km from the main road, goes deep into the oil palm plantation and jungle. But, once you get there, you guys will love the scenery.

For nature lovers and people who like to go camping in the outdoors, or simply want to be out of mobile network and any forms of telecommunication, this place is a must-go. Can truly experience nature upfront, in its most pristine state.

It's highly recommended to have a malay-speaking guy in your group as it would be easier to facilitate with the tour guide regarding the activities that you will be doing. The tour guides are all very friendly, informative and very experienced in knowing the jungle inside out.

Highly recommend to go to the upeh guiling waterfalls, buaya sangkut waterfall, tasik air biru and more importantly, water tubing at endau river.

We are a group of 15 people visited via Kampung Peta gate. We were picked up from Kahang with 4 wheel drive. Part of the road is bumpy but is is fine overall. We are on 2 days one night Pak. The tours end after 4 pm on the second day so we basically did the same things with people on 3 days Pak.
On arrival, firstly we did some activity in a orang asli village: crafting/see hunting trap and pipe blowing . Some of us also bought durian from the villagers. After lunch , people who opt
out from tubbing is transferred to the chalet. There is a night walk around the chalet after dinner. On 2nd day, we trek from the chalet , during which we visit scenic river bank and waterfall. We need to cross 3 shallow but slippery stoneish river. It is the same route return back. After the tour we were transferred back to Kampung Peta on a scenic boat ride.

Few things exceeded my expectations on this tour :

Modern accommodation with 3 star hotel facility.
Mosquito free maybe due to dry season.
Simple but nice meal .

Some points to take note :
Few people free of leeches bite, but it is actually harmless compare to mosquito bite. Leech sock helps.
No internet signal at accommodation and jungle.
I am disappointed not seeing many bird and exotic jungle plants.
Cheap and humble Kampung adidas shoe is competent for the trekking. No need to bring expensive trekking shoe as you need to soak your whole feet in the river.

Actually there are 3 different gate into the park, and all the route goes to a different base camp. My review will be the gate at Bekok, Labis and the route goes into endau rompin national via Selai.

I love this place do much, that I've returnef countless times. Last week i visited again with the wife. We brought our camps along. The lubuk Merekek is a hood campsite, reasonably ckean toilets and bath. I love trekking into the gazetted jungle trek. No guide is necessary for this trek and it is well marked. Heaven for macro photography. So much living plants, insects. My best subjects were mushrooms. Dozens of species.

Tip. Come here during weekdays, its always empty. We came on Thursday on our motorcycles and we were the only campers. Do worry about being alone in the jungle, the ranger who stays sbout 500 meters away at base camp will make rounds at night to see if you're ok.

I rate this with a meagre two points because of the fact that the park HQ cantine and related matters was closed. We were not informed and because of this our local agent serviced us with homestay food prepared in a kitchen located next to latrines!
Our sleeping accomodation was a acceptable cabine with extremely bad beds. We did one trekking, did not look the chance to stay longer and left the next morning due to our hygiene concernes about the food.
Do not come when HQ is closed and take in consideration that the trip to come and go is a long one through palmoil plantations on dirt roads.

We stayed inside the rainforest for three nights as the only tourists in the Orang Asli Kampung Peta village. We were fetched with a 4*4 in Kahang, to find a fully laid out program and a very warm welcome with the indigenous forest people. We learned about local culture, and efforts to sustain it, stayed in an authentic bamboo house and had lovely meals with local ingredients overlooking the river and the endless rainforest. Our very knowledgeable guide showed us medical plants, animal traps and local games, we went down the river in tubes and on a night walk and night cruise. A highlight was a jungle trek, upto the waterfall and the blue lagoon (leech socks indispensable). It's amazing that so little people know about this unique opportunity, which comes highly recommended (we found or via the journey Malaysia site, search Endau Ropin National Park tours and simply Whatsapp Mr Lop)

The park has great potential. But illegal hunting and logging have decimated wildlife populations. (One guide, Anas, reported that they found 100 snares in one enforcement campaign). So mammals you are likely to see are squirrels and bats, and less likely boar and monkeys. Mosquitoes were not bad, thankfully. But buy the leach socks ($3.50 per pair). In our group of five, four had them and I did not. Five minutes on any trail is sufficient to gather a leach. Will you be camping? On a weekend? Then prepare yourself. There is only one campground in the park, and it has decent bathrooms (squat) and shower facilities, and room comfortably for five or six tents along a beautiful mountain river. But think refugee camp. Last weekend there our nearest tent neighbors were less than a meter from our tent, a full 60 people living in 30 tents or so. And the park-wide no-smoking policy is sadly unenforced. I hear Tuesday to Thursday is much better. But the redeeming thing: bird life is great. Saw nesting Great Slaty Woodpecker and nesting Black-naped Monarch and white-morph Paradise Flycatcher and Scarlet-rumped Trogan, and chestnut-naped forktails, and Black Hornbill, and heard Gould's Frogmouth. Several others. But the road is terrible. I came in with a high-set two-wheel-drive van. I never could have made it over ruts and rocks and high centers in my economy car. Impossible. But the RT 4wd vans are $60. Oh, and don't think you will amble off into the mountains unaccompanied. A guide ($50) is required. I, being cheap, birded on the road.
