Clean, affordable and a must visit for young children. Its well maintained and bathroom is super clean too. Perhaps on the improvement side, management can consider upgrade / label all those cute animals because some of the label was missing. Overall, worth a visit and definitely will visit again in the near future.

Yesterday we visited Deerland on our Taman Negara Tour with Han Travel. We didn't know it was part of our booked tour as you couldn't find it in the itinerary. First, we enjoyed feeding the deer and watched some birds and snakes in comparably big enclosures. But when we saw the racoons, small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, degus, skinny rats, hamsters) and different kind of lizards and frogs we felt quite sorry for them. The racoons showed behaviour disorders despite having a big enclosure, because they had too few things to do. It would be a great enrichtment for them to keep them more busy with things to play, discover new changing items, let them search and work for food. I also missed fibred food like fresh grass/leaves and hay for rabbits and rodents. It's very important for them to have it 24/7 to assure healthy teeth, digestion and as activity. But worse, I couldn't find any water, which I think is quite alarming especially during the hot weather conditions.
Most of the rodents and reptiles (except for the snakes) are kept in tiny aquariums without opportunity to hide, dig tunnels or any other entertainment/activity opportunity and as I said without food and water.
So in the beginning Deerland made a good impression to us, but in the end I wasn't happy about supporting this private zoo (?) by paying entry within our booked tour. I'm not sure if this recession will be read by persons who are in charge of these animals, but I would really appreciate, if something would change for the better step by step in the future- or not keeping those small animals any longer at all would also be an improvement. As I'm a vet specialising in small mammals I'm always happy to help in giving more information how you could achieve more animal enrichment (quality of life) easily with only little effort. Just let me know if my advice is wanted because I'm sure you're only wanting the best for your animals :)

We chanced upon Deerland Park enroute to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary. Decided to drop by for a visit after our visit to the elephant sanctuary. It's a very quaint, rustic and I would say, pretty impressive park given that it is privately owned by a family who is passionate about animals. As it's now off season and late in the afternoon, my husband and I seemed to be the only visitors there. We had fun feeding the deers and walking through the rustic park. Nearing the exit, we thought the sheltered area was a souvenir shop. It turned out to be a reptile exhibit and mini petting zoo with guinea pigs and rabbits. My husband was delighted when he saw a huge iguana on the bench and he just went forward to pick it up. Then one of the owners appeared with a huge, 20kg python on his shoulders and asked if we would like to hold it. Of course my husband happily accepted his invitation as it's his dream to handle a huge python! So Deerland Park actually gave us some unexpected surprises which turned out to be the highlight of our excursion from Genting Highlands.

The Deerland Park is a kind of mini zoo and petting zoo. I visited the park as part of a package tour to Taman Negara. As other reviewers have mentioned, some of the enclosures are depressingly small and cruel, while the enclosures for rabbits and deer looked okay.

Un zoo en cautividad mal cuidado y pobres animales enjaulados. Evitar si se quiere hacer turismo responsable

I had visited deerland 9 years ago. It is shame that i just foubd out this amazing since my family was living nearby which is 20 mins drive from Batu Tiga. As we used to surpass this mini zoo and went to KL zoo instead. I would had asked our father to bring us here is i ever knew it. Nevetheless this is an amazing zoo. Much intimidating personal touch with the wild compare with the zoo at Kl . They dont have big animals they do have many small type of cute animals like wild cats, wild fluffy roasters , gecko, rabbits and birds. I had visited this zoo before and took pic with a small python there. I visited it again last week and took pic with a much bigger python. Not sure whether it is the same python but it should be the same as python life span is up to 20 years.😁

Our guide for the day stopped here en route to the Kualah Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, and it was an unexpected stop for us, so we really didn’t know what to expect.
It’s very cheap to get in. It initially seems quite small, but as you walk around, you realise it is bigger than it seems. It’s like walking through a mini jungle.
We got to feed the deer and stroke them. There’s quite a few Bengal cats that loved being stroked. We all got to hold a Burmese Python, which took some doing for me, but I was determined to do it. There were also ostriches, chickens, guinea fowl, peacocks there, plus rabbits. We got to hold a bearded dragon too.
It seems like a family run place, and I think with a bit of extra money it could be improved, but it’s still lovely as it is and we really enjoyed ourselves there and would happily go back.

It's good to visit the park with children. Feeding deers is a special experience to them. There are a lot of other aminals in the park, eg ostrich. An hour should able to complete a tour

My friends were fascinated to feed the deers and also taking photographs with the python. They should improve by giving more info at every station.

The place has some small animals and birds in addition to deer. It's not well-landscaped and is not suitable to bring a pram as the walkway is narrow and uneven. On the plus side, the price is cheap and you do get food for feeding the deer.
