There are two quan yin temple in Ipoh. One is located at the heart of the city while the other is at Gunung Rapat, which is a cave temple. The address , Jalan Sultan Idris shah is the one at city center which nothing special except its an old temple. The review photos share by me is the one at Gunung Rapat. It is located next to Sam Po Tong. Entrance is free.

The temple is about 150 years old, but has since undergone many renovations and upgrading. Nonetheless all these works are more utilitarian than aesthetical. If you are a tourist seeking a place to marvel at beautiful architecture or intricate carvings, this is not the place. But if you are interested in observing how locals worship and how the deities are involved in their daily lives, you may want to come during the Buddhist/Taoist high days which is at every 1st and 15th day of the Chinese lunar calendar. The peak of activity will be during the anniversaries of Avalokitasvara which falls on the 19th day of the 2nd, 6th, and 9th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. The temple will be filled with people and smoke, so packed that not holding your candles or incense properly may easily set another's hair on fire.

Снаружи такая красивая гора! Кажется, что внутри нечто необычное! Но, внутри сидели только три приветливых китайца и белая кошка. Небольшое пространство со статуэтками божеств и подношениями. Ни о чём.

This is a small and fairly centrally located temple near the river in Ipoh. There's not really too much to see and a short visit is probably adequate.

So many people get the 2 Guan Yin temples mixed up, as they have the same name. This one is beside the Birch Bridge in Ipoh town, the other is way out at Gunung Rapat with the other cave temples. The modern, clean temple has a lovely, atmospheric ruin next to it (the original temple, perhaps?). It is small and elaborately decorated, but we didn't get to see much as it was closing right as we got there on Saturday afternoon. This temple is allegedly the 2nd oldest temple in Ipoh Old Town, and dedicated to the Goddess Guan Yin (Kwan Yin), goddess of mercy in Mahayana Buddhism.
There is a parking area right in front of the temple, just turn hard left immediately after crossing the bridge.

A short visit is recommended as there is no other cave within walking distance.
However, the pond out there is quite impressive.

Guan Yin Temple is situated next to bridge over the Kinta River on Sultan Idris Shah Street, and is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy. It's small and so packed that every inch seems to be occupied with images, red lanterns etc.

This Guan Yin temple is located beside Gunung Rapat on 4 1/2 Mile, Jalan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah. It is a One of the many Buddhist temples built into a limestone caves.
The little hut is located on the left side of the temple (when facing the temple).
They charge RM10 entrance fee.
This temple is not as well -known as the main three cave temples of Ipoh.
The main part of the temple is visually pleasing. Don't forget to check the secret passages on the left and the quiet temple beside it on the right.
There are literally hundreds of statues of Buddhist Goddess of Compassion Guan Yin. It is a place with amazing serene and soothing calm feeling for you to get yourself of meditation or praying as well.
There are two roles of Guan Yin statues with sponsors' names on both side leading to this hut.We saw children appreciating and enjoying 3D pictures. This temple has an amazing number of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva statues as well as numerous other statues and images on its grounds and in the temple caves.
It has gardens with views of surrounding countryside. As with most of the temples, there are stairs and paths through the caves but are closed probably because of safety issues. Many visitors and better maintained than Sam Po Tong.
This is a great place to visit in Ipoh. It is well worth a visit.
