Owned by Mr Tomiko Casiano, The Laguerta Vintage glass museum is not to be missed when you visit Bacolod. His vast array of collection shipped from the US and his stories are really fascinating. Make sure to make an appointment first cos he doesnt allow walk-ins

Tomiko the collector is an excellent tour guide. He has an enormous knowledge about all objects and its stories. I was impressed about the art objects often designed of recycled material. Don't miss it. I'll miss Tomikos LOOK AT THAT

A different experience awaits you at Laguerta Home of the Vintage Glasses. Indeed these are US Depression Period glasses and very rare and expensive. The owner, who welcomed and explained to us his collection, brought the collection all the way from US. If you wish to see glasses in different colors and shapes, don’t miss this place. It’s by appointment.

Home to thousands of vintage glass pieces mostly from the Depression Era in the United States, the Vintage Glasses Museum in Bacolod City is a unique and eccentric shrine to anything glass collected in a span of 30 years when the owner, Tomas Claridad Casiano worked as a butler for a Hollywood movie director and eventually opening his own flower shop for Beverly Hills royalty where he procured unique glasses for his flowers. When he came home to the Philippines, he brought home 66 boxes full of his glass collection and opened the museum as his home was too small for his crystal obsession.

His most prized possessions include wine glasses from Queen Victoria's court, a 1915 whisky decanter made for Ford Motors, glass decanters owned by Nancy Reagan, a Russian czar's goblet and glasses made with uranium!

Can't recommend this place enough! They only open by appointment so make sure to make reservations first!

So far, our travel was not in vain. Even if we went there without an appointment, the host and collector himself,Sir Tomiko Casiano accommodated us even though it's past lunch hour.
He gave us the history, the relevance of the inspiring beauty of each piece of his collection.

the uniqueness of each item is awesome.

Laguerta (Glass Museum) is the first of its kind in Negros Occidental. The museum has an array of over 3000 unique glass pieces in different hues and intricate designs.

The owner/collector/curator is Mr. Tomas Casiano (Tomiko). He was a very accommodating host. Visits to the museum is by appointment and free. You may contact Mr. Casiano at (034) 444-1140; (034) 702-9664; 0917- 3098895.

It is a unique experience you will never regret.

I'm not a museum lover but, if there's something interesting about a place when I travel, I usually opt to look/go to it rather than going to the usual attractions. This place is about 15-20 mins by car from the city. Based on reviews I read from blogs, you have to book your visit here as the owner does not accept walk in guests, so what i did.

You can contact "Sir Tomiko" on this number - 09173098815. Was glad that Sir Tomiko was able to respond to us immediately when I sent him a message. He sets up a time for your visit based on his daily schedule. Do take note that if he's travelling out of the country (which is also often), his museum is also closed. He does the storytelling and ushers his guests personally. There's no entrance fee, but does accepts donations.

As what I recalled on his story, he was a florist to known clients in Beverly Hills and has collected the pieces for over 30 years, handpacked 60 balikbayan boxes and air freighted it when he retired and went back to his hometown. Unusual vintage glasses and depression glasses mostly were pieces that he collected. What I liked most out of his collection, were the night glass, whiskey storage, deviled eggs holder and the ruby collection. I was glued on his narration while telling stories of his favorite pieces.

This is a must place you need to visit when in Bacolod.

The place is nice and you need to set an appointment with the owner. There are set of collections, different kinds and colors of glass and it'll amaze you. A must visit place. Plus the structure of the museum is unique. And if you're planning an event, he also accepts any kind of event, wedding, birthday, anniversary, etc. Go check it out!
