Echoing the others in how small the museum is but IMO it's still a visit at least once.
Exhibits included some history that included a bit on neolithic highlights, the local textile traditions, and World War II. While giving a quick glimpse of the province's past, I believe there's still so much to offer and tell with the richness that the region's history has to offer. Couldn't help but note how much my mother who hasn't visited it since it first opened in the early 70s quipped at how little has changed/expanded.
Looking back, I probably should have visited whenever a relative is hospitalized at nearby St. Paul's or if I had business in the area but still worth a visit nonetheless even if for a few minutes.

Just take a picture of the colorful façade and Brutalist building.
Paying 50 pesos per person is not really worth it. Visit the adjacent Old Provincial Jail (Wester Visayas National Museum) instead.

The museum has been moved to the former prison right next door. They've done a lovely job restoring the former prison which is now very bight and airy with a lot of space.
Unfortunately there are only two rooms with anything of interest to see here. The plus side is that this is free to enter so, if you have an hour spare, this is worth stopping in to see.

We briefly stopped here to visit it’s exhibits. Learned it to be under renovations, so we were unable to enter.
We took pictures outside and moved on.

This museum is very basic and very small. It is not expensive but what you will see and learn is minimal. If you’d like to learn about Philippines history, you will be disappointed. The staff is very nice.

I'm not a big museam fan but thought I'd have a look to try learn about Iloilo City history. There's abit to see and read about and there was a guided tour but I got there after it started so didn't join in.

There is currently quite a bit of construction going on around the museum but it was still easy to find and easily accessible. The entrance was 50php for an adult as previously stated and you are asked to sign in. Upon doing so a lovely local lady explained to me the concept of the museum and took me around each section of the exhibits (apart from the children’s art as it’s easily seen on your own and it’s a changing exhibit space). She was very very insightful and made a few jokes along the way as well as gave information on other things I might want to see in the area. I have been to many many museums in the Philippines and this one really had well looked after, interesting and well thought out displays. I sure sure whether this lady is always on hand to show people around and I was the only person in there but she did help bring the pieces to life and then gave me the option to walk around on my own and take pictures. There was a small shop instead with some locals crafts but they were nothing you wouldn’t find in any souvenir store really. Very glad I went.

Visited the place last week, and what a disappointment. There is a contemporary art exhibit during our visit, but the basic question whether the human remains on display is a replica or original, cannot be answered by them. Instead, the "very nice" lady pointed us to the description on the display. I would not have asked if what I read is not conflicting. Better to visit the newly opened Philippine Museum of Economic History.

We visited this museum during our city tour of Iloilo.
We did not spend a lot of time at this museum as it was not overly interesting. It focused a lot on contemporary art.
Our female attendant was not really that welcoming.

When I was in high school, visiting this place was overwhelming, the art works, the historical pieces, and the information of the past. Sad thing is, nothing significant has changed from then until now. Something must be done to develop the place more. I am sure that there are a lot of people who hope that the glory of Iloilo Museum will be restored the soonest.
