I had been communicating with Bruce in customizing this tour to visit Terracotta warriors and Huaching Palace in Xi'an as part of our trip to Beijing in China. However, it was almost cancelled due to a major snow storm in Xi'an.
Luckily, the weather in Xi'an improved on last two days of our trip. So, contacted Bruce again to switch to plan B to fly in as a 1-day trip rather than taking the bullet train with a 2-night stay.
We were greeted by our English speaking tour guide, Wendy, at the airport and were told that the French president was visiting Terracotta in the same morning. This means the museum is closed for 2 hours to the public. She switched our agenda to visit the Huaching Palace first and then Terracotta after the early lunch. That worked out very well.
Wendy speaks good English and is very knowledgeable about the history and facts about the places we visited. She brought up some interesting discussion with us that we all enjoyed throughout the trip, especially, my son who loves history.
Additional credit goes to our driver who drove very carefully on the slick roadway after the snow storm and brought us to visit the city wall before heading out for departure at the airport.
Thanks Bruce for his patience in responding to all my 20+ emails, questions, special requests and alternative plans.
I highly recommend YesTrips and will use their service again next time.
The price of $55 (does not include admission tickets) per person is very reasonable considering the excellent service that we received.
Don't forget to tip Wendy and the driver!
