If you like to have a short mountain trekking and viewing of tea plantation of Longjing, I would say it is a good experience if the weather is cool. The whole journey is less than 2 hours with a relaxed walk.
The Longjing village is a pretty quiet country outskirt with many tea houses. if you start trekking from Meijiawu village, then the place is more vibrant with tea houses and small eateries.
You can take the public bus of 103 to Meijiawu or Bus 27 to Longjing Village. Both bus lines are located at QianChun Road. The starting point of the mountain track 'Shi Li Lang Dang' at Meijiawu is just the opposite of the bus stop. It is much easier to find the track.

Went by myself and took a Didi / taxi here. Afternoon is a great time to visit when the sun is less intense and lighting in the fields is great, i.e. when you are into photography. Spent roughly 3 hours walking up and down the tea plantation and took a one hour break at Dragon Well tea (there is plenty of options) to have some 'lion' and 'dragon' tea. Aside from that, it's free to visit with and was great to learn more about China's and Hangzhou's tea culture.

The best time to visit Longjing Tea Village is from March to May. That's when farmers are busy with tea picking and processing.
Longjing Tea also, known as"Dragon Well tea", is a variety of pan-roasted green tea from the area of Longjing Village in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It is produced mostly by hand and renowned for its high quality, earning it the Top Tea in China. Besides its elegant taste, the story of Longjing Tea is associated with two very famous person in Chinese history, Su Dongpo and Qianlong Emperor.

Ended up riding through Longjing village on a bike ride around Hangzhou. Wonderful village, with mile upon mile of tea leaves each side! A main town was full of restaurants and tea bars - I'm amazed so many can stay in business! Ended up going up a long hill on the bike, before entering a long tunnel and coming out to even more tea fields the other side. Wonderful to see the women working picking the leaves. I do need to work on mastering how to drink the tea, I find the physical tea leaves annoying in the drink! Needs to be strained, although locals don't seem to drink it that way. If you like the outdoors, walking or cycling I highly recommend planning a few hours here!

We thought the fields were neat with how they were lined up. There is a section near the National Tea Museum which we spent most of our time in but we didn't spend too much time before moving on. We were here for about half an hour before moving on.

This is a “home” of the famous Longjin green tea. Recommend getting there through the ‘Jiuxi 18 bends path’ as it’s the scenic route through very shallow streams that you can wade through water that is at ankle deep only.
I strongly recommend should stopping for a cup of the world famous Longjin green tea. Most stores also offer home cooked meals.

After few? months being stucked in Shanghai I was? completely starving for some natural environment and some greenery, this place had fully fulfilled my expectations. I was lucky enough to be there during the rainy season to see the mist just surrounding the mountains and tea tarasses. it was truly amazing and refreshing experience🙂😊

We visited this lovely little tea village in August 2019 as part of a tour. It was clearly aimed at tourists. Interesting information about tea, and a demonstration with iodine to show the benefits of drinking green tea. Hard push for sales of tea, green tea in tablet form, and concentrated tablets. They package it on the spot - on the conference room table, so you can watch it get sealed. They pack a lot of tea into the tins as they seal it. We did buy some tea and some other tea related products. Pretty gardens and courtyards. Worth a visit here even though we felt a little rushed.

Hi, I will be traveling WITHOUT a tour company. Is it possible to do tea picking activities at the end of April 2019 with an English speaker at the tea plantation, and how much would that be? And how long should I expect this to take?

best bet is to contact your hotel concierge, they can hook you up with something nice and safe. :)

How far is Longjing village to Wengjiashan (翁家山) village?
I am thinking about taking a taxi directly from the train station to Longjing village to see the tea field. Then we will walk back to Wengjiashan (翁家山) village to see more tea fields. Then take taxi for bus back to West lake.

We charter a Taxi and use it to tour around hence I am not sure how far the two location is perhaps you could check with your 1st Taxi driver there are helpful. And Taxi cost is affordable in the area just worry about the jam during peak hour.

I think it's better to walk a bit of way and catch a bus. The buses are quite clean and the people are civilized. The walk is pleasant as you can see how villagers live along the way.
what is best time of year to visit plantation?

the Spring tea harvest season is April, before the rain comes in May, so if you like to visit the plantation with farmers collecting the tea then late March or early April will be good... or you can visit the plantation before then just to see a sea of green... or you can visit in May when the harvest season is over but you get to enjoy the fresh brew of tea... it's all good time
I need go west lake well tea village plz give me information

We went there with a tour guide. Hence, we had a tour around the tea plant and field. The field manager gave us a briefing about tea background which is helpful. Overall, we all find the trip is very interesting.

Hi, How do I get to Longjing tea plantation from Westlake? Is it within walking distance? Pls advise. Thank you.

There are only 2 buses that go to the Longjing tea plantation: 27 and 87.
Generally these 2 buses can be found north and northwest of the Westlake, and coincides with a part of Route Y2 that comes from the train station. Hope this helps
You might want to google "杭州87路" and "杭州27路" for the complete route of each bus route to help you figure out which bus stops to take the bus from.

What's the best way to get to the tea fields from Hangzhou? Once there, what are the fees?
YTCHENG
Hongkong, Kina15 491 bidrag
There are many tea fields around West Lake of Hangzhou. Longjing Wencha Village (10 minutes taxi time from West Lake city centre) and Meija Dock Tea Village (40 minutes taxi time from West Lake city centre) are the most common tea field villages visited by tourists. Around the villages, you can see terraced tea fields, village houses and there will be no entrance fees charged wherever you tour around the villages and tea fields. Nonetheless if you want to experience tea tasting in one of the village houses, you are free to do so but the charge per cup of longjing tea will be around RMB20 to 50. If you are not experts in longjing tea tasting, just tour around and take some photos on the environment. Not recommend to purchase tea leaves here unless you know pretty well the prices in relationship to the quality offered. The prices on longjing tea will fluctuate sharply, particularly during spring time which is considered to be the best timing for tea-leaves picking. National Tea Museum next to Longjing Road can be another option for you if you want to know the history of tea cultivation in China particularly the longjing tea here. No entrance fee will be charged and you can also have tea-tasting lesson there too. You can take No. 27 public bus to this museum directly from West Lake city centre. Nonetheless frequency of this public bus line is not constant, just recommend you to take a taxi there and the distance from town to the museum (near to West Lake Coloured Port View Fish Garden site) is less than 10 minutes. Hope that you can have a nice trip in Hangzhou soon.
