Opened in 1890, this Tamil temple is located at the eastern end of Jalan Scott.
Nothing special, there are better ones on the same route.

We have been to KL several times, but we have not yet been made aware of this temple. It is a shame, but this has an advantage: the building is not on the 'tourist route' through the city. This meant that we were able to experience the flair of Bharat, i.e. typical India. We were the only non-Indian visitors during our visit and we were treated very kindly. We had the impression that people are happy to visit when they see a temple as a place of contemplation and are not just looking for motifs for their selfies. We were also very lucky and were able to take part in the pooja (पूजा).
Our advice: you should just take a look at the complex at your leisure and enjoy the atmosphere and architecture. The magnificent gopuram is better viewed from the outside.
One more tip: 'Jalan Scott' is probably the key term for a remarkable location. There are three other Hindu temples on this street, which are close to each other and are also worth seeing. One 'belongs' to Krishna, another to Hanuman and number 3 is dedicated to Sri Maha Maheshwarar.
This remarkable place is located east of the main train station and can be easily reached via 1.2 km (on foot).
It is also very pleasant there because there are many restaurants where you can get dishes from the excellent Indian cuisine. This area is also called 'little India'.

We have been to KL several times, but we had not yet noticed this temple. On the one hand, that is unfortunate, but it also has an advantage: the building is obviously not on the tourist ‘mainstream’ through the city. So we were able to experience real Indian temple life there. We were the only non-Indian visitors and we were treated very kindly. We had the impression that they were happy to have visits from people who see such ‘establishments’ as a place of contemplation and are not just looking for motifs for their selfies.

We visited Little India Brickfields one afternoon as we planned to visit some of the local temples. We had read that Sri Kandaswamy Temple is very similar to the one we visited in Chinatown but even larger, with a highly decorative main tower at the entrance with many beautifully ornate figures and carvings.

However we were very disappointed to find that the temple was completely closed and covered up on arrival. We wandered around the back and were able to see a few of the newly painted roof sculptures, which were in beautiful bright colours. So disappointing that we couldn't enjoy the rest, we will definitely be returning if ever in KL again.

I simply can't give this temple a bad review just because of our unfortunate timing though! As underneath the black awning that was covering the building we could still see a few statues and the newly painted bright colours were beautiful. We could see that it will be amazing once finished, so giving 4* - for the potential!

I had already visited the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and enjoyed the pooja there, so I decided to visit this Hindu temple while I was visiting Brickfields and Little India. Sadly, many of the roofs including the gopuram have been covered as part of the renovations. Inside, it smelt like there had been some repainting going on, though incomplete. The interior of temple is typical South Indian Dravidian style. That is to say, colourful, lots of columns for the ambulatory around the sanctum sanctorum. The columns are particularly interesting as most of them were designed to look like columns supporting columns. I think it was a quiet night for them temple because I waited for 30 minutes for the scheduled pooja to start, but nothing happened as there were no worshippers. As things stand, the temple is less interesting to visit because of the repainting works, but that probably makes no difference for a devotee. The covered roofs do make me appreciate my previous visit back in 2015 when I got to see the gopuram in its full glory.

멋진 사원이에요. 건물이 크다보니 뭔가 압도적인 기분마저 드는 사원입니다. 관광객들도 많은데 잘 보존되고 있어서 놀랍습니다
