For those who are not familiar with Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral is the main station in the city. It is connected to lots of different train lines, including the LRT lines, the KTM Komuter service and also the KLIA Ekspres from the airport.
Assuming you're flying into Kuala Lumpur, this is a useful station to get to purely based on the number of train connections you can access from this station.
There are also plenty of facilities offered here to get food/drink and there are staff on hand to assist you.
The only thing I would say is that some of the train lines are not brilliantly signposted at this station so if you have not navigated this station before, this could be a bit of a challenge and you may need to ask for assistance.
Overall, this is a good central interchange to use if you're travelling to somewhere in Kuala Lumpur by train.
Assuming you're flying into Kuala Lumpur, this is a useful station to get to purely based on the number of train connections you can access from this station.

Today, 23/8/2024, 8.15pm train from KL sentral to Butterworth, delayed...what a crap service. Its already 10:16pm...still in Sungai Buloh. OMG...what a load of stupid service. I don't know what signal ETS is waiting for. This is the last I am taking ETS.

KL Sentral is the main transport hub, public transport stops here. It's easy to find your way around, so it's simple to use and unbeatably cheap. You can't get around Kuala Lumpur any faster! A taxi often takes far too long! There are malls, supermarkets, snack bars and much more at all stations. We had a lot of fun sightseeing thanks to the system.

Connecting metro, commuter trains, monorail or buses. A lot of shopping possible, restaurants and cafés ☕️. Pls book more time when travelling for first time

The highlight of the stay is definitely the executive lounge team. Everyone is so happy and friendly, and interaction with them really makes one's day.
Dinesh was very attentive in service, clearing our plates, refilling our wine promptly during evening cocktail hours, and checking in on us at the right moments. He is also not shy to strike up a conversation!
Zarif was patient when we asked about cocktails and whipped up an interesting and pretty one for us.
Rizal and Halilah are forever so happy, smiley and welcoming. Seeing them fills your heart immediately. They are also considerate and preempt guests' needs.
I would come back again for the crew at the executive lounge!

This is a central hub near bricfields. It is connected with the LRT, Monorail, MRT and KTM. Very convient place to take your transport.

Zentraler Bahnhof. Hier laufen alle wichtigen Nahverkehrslinien von Kuala Lumpur zusammen. Es gibt einige Shops mit Reiseproviant. Die Führung zu den einzelnen Nahverkehrslinien ist sehr professionell

Klセントラル駅に併設のデパートに来るときに利用しました。来たときは下りてくるだけでしたので気になりませんでしたがデパートで買い物が終わり帰るときには駅の大きさに驚きました。日本で言えば東京駅と一緒だと考えれば当たり前か。行先から場所を探すのには苦労はしませんでしたが移動が大変でした。

We were a family of 4 ( 2 adult and 2 teens) . We traveled from kl to Penang . Train station was very easy to figure out and staff very helpful

We used KL Sentral station to catch the Electric Train Service - ETS - to Butterworth and then to transfer to Penang. We were in "Business" class - what would be first class on other railway systems.
The journey (four and a quarter hours) as such was fine: an interesting change from short-haul flying, air-conditioned, comfortable and reasonably spacious. Arrived into Butterworth exactly on time. We were served a sort of curry+ rice lunch at our seats, which bore all the hallmarks of airline food (the trolley it was served from still had the MAS logo!) but it filled a gap - and was part of the cost of the business class ticket, which was good value (M$147 per person - around £30).
For someone with limited luggage, this would be a good value way of doing a side-trip, say to Ipoh or Georgetown (Butterworth station links directly to the foot-passenger ferry to Georgetown).
But - KL Sentral station: what to say? There were no baggage trollies anywhere, or porters: fine if you only have "hand luggage" but surely, with a reasonably long journey like this, passengers might be expected to have more bags.
Help was limited, and mostly didn't speak English. The KLIA Express train (also from Sentral) is advertised for foreigners, but the ETS is clearly targeted at locals.
There was a business-class lounge, but its existence wasn't advertised in advance, or obvious on the station forecourt - we were only told of it after we'd been hanging around, waiting for help, for some time. (The "stewardess" in the lounge was more helpful than other staff and did try to get us assistance.)
And getting to the train was almost as bad as flying, with repeated checks and queuing. Why make it so complicated and officious?

We are visiting KL early next year and trying to avoid the lengthy drive into Kuala Lumpur we will have 2 large wheeled luggage’s, is it easy transferring from airport to the train.also is Sentral close to le Méridien. Are porters available to help with the luggage’s app.

Le Meridian is right next to KL Sentral, and taking the train from the airport to KL Sentral is very easy. Be sure to buy a round trip train ticket as it will save u a little money.
There are no porters to assist u at the airport, but if your luggage has rollers, it won't be a problem.
The hotel is about 300 meters from the train in KL Sentral, so it's an easy walk with suitcases. Alas, there are no porters til u reach the hotel.

Kuala Lumpur Sentral memang tereletak dalam bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. Ianya menjadi pusat bagi beberapa jenis angkutan seperti bas, LRT, Monorail, tren biasa (KTM Komuter dan tren antara bandar, Intercity). Cara yang termurah ialah melalui bas bandar.

One can take a taxi (for one day visit on a contract RM250 to 300). This is good for a group of 3 or 4. If you are solo take a Genting Express bus from the ground level rear side of KL sentral. It costs less than RM5 one way. Cable car facility has to be used to g60o up the hill from the bus station at Genting. Week ends and holidays will be crowded and expensive on taxies. Of course, there are daily tour operators (from RM60 to 100). You will be picked up and drop from and at your hotel.
