Do not be fooled by the looks of the place. It looks like an old house that is near to it's death. The place houses really talented (and underrated) musicians! Food is okay, too! Place can be crowded on weekends as well, but the place remains to be small and intimate.
This is a good place to listen to some music, but definitely not for people who are looking for an upscale place to chat and all.

With all the bars and clubs in the metro playing generic and repetitive millennial music, this place offers something different. It's a perfect place to enjoy the art jazz of by very talented local musicians.
The people are friends, drinks are cheap and the overall atmosphere is cozy and intimate. My only complain are the seats are a nit uncomfortable, but aside from that, it's an awesome place to spend a Saturday night.

Kind of hidden and away from the usual areas where the bars and restaurants are, this venue on Main Avenue in Cubao (other side of EDSA from SM Hypermarket) is a good getaway for those who want to avoid the noise of common hubs like Makati / BGC and those who prefer eclectic music. The venue looks simple from outside as you'd see two/three sets of tables and chairs, a glass wall that is curtained from the inside. No sign board from what I remember. This venue is actually in the middle of a quiet residential area, surrounded by trees. Parking is ample but make sure not to leave valuables (I remember one of the stories shared to us.)
Actual fun happens late here. They usually open around 9-10PM (or could be earlier depending if there's an event) and acoustic slow jazz jams can entertain you from frequent guitarist Noli Aurillo. Fun starts when the slow jams change to faster beats especially when sessionists arrive past midnight (probably from other gigs) and join and the party can last up until 4AM or even much later (I mean before 6AM).
Food is uniquely named. I'd say go for the pizzas, THEY ARE the best here from all places I've been too. Thin crust and usually with local inspiration injected (I remember one was like Mt Apo which was oh so good) and others incorporate ingredients local to Philippine cuisine (like longganisang vigan which is garlicky pork sausages).
Crowd is combination of expats, some foreigners who discover the area as referred, artists and yuppies. Inside the venue, it's like an old artspace turned into a "poorman's speakeasy" - old couches, wooden sliding doors, low ceiling (be careful tall people), then in a corner is the stage that has a drumset and a bass violin (I think the first gets disassembled if needed). Restroom, despite the old space, is actually clean and cute, well-decorated with artsy stuff.
Good place to see a different crowd but if you prefer to mingle, just drink and go off, this might not be the perfect venue for you.
PS Order ahead as it sometimes takes long to prepare food. They only prepare food as ordered, no pre-heated or pre-cooked food is served here. But worth the wait!

An amazing night. Superb live jazz. So glad we made a reservation - had a front row table and it was PACKED on a Sunday night!

Artistic, fun, somewhere you can go to hide and relax. But cleanliness needs to be addressed and better seating (couch was sunk). But everything else its cool!

This was quite an experience. When our taxi pulled up outside this house in a residential street with a bunch of people in scruffy T-shirts hanging around outside (with no other nightclubs nearby), we were a little dubious. It turned out to be a really entertaining place, a genuine 'dive' with cheap drinks and a very limited drinks menu of course, tiny wooden seats and tables, but excellent jazz by musicians who really know what they're doing, and a bohemian crowd who appreciate the music. The bar and performance area is basically the ground floor of the house, so you're right up close to the musicians. Quite an experience.

In a megacity of 12 million people, most of whom seemingly live for entertaining and being entertained, it is remarkable that there is apparently only one lone venue that regularly features jazz. That place is Tago Jazz Cafe; and it is a spartan place--a "dive" some would say--located far from stylish quarters, in a converted house in a residential district of Cubao.
Tago is possibly the world's cheapest jazz bar, with no cover charge and P55 beers ($1.25), but don't judge the music by the price, or rather, don't judge the book(ing) by the cover(charge).
The acoustics are good, the patrons are friendly, the beer is cold, and--at least the night I was there--the musicianship was creative and soulful--standards mostly, with innovative beats and improv solos.
Overall, well worth the journey, but bring a map, as your taxi driver is likely to get lost on the back streets of Cubao trying to find Tago's signless facade.
