Wonderful quaint little German themed village with a pond, little shops, Air B& B's a German themed American bar & restaurant. Great area for antiquing.

This mini town was a dream of the man who built it. 20 years ago it was an amazing venture but is completely empty now. It was built as shops in the ground floor and condos upstairs for the business owners. It flopped. There is a Toy museum that isn't worth the walk from the parking lot and a nasty little resturaunt / bar for the people who live there. For being in the middle of a pandemic the resturaunt workers don't even wear masks.

We came to the area not planning on coming here specifically. My 12 year old actually said “This is a ghost town.” There was nothing here. A few shops with not that friendly staff and a mediocre restaurant. I hate posting a review like this because I want to support small businesses. But I couldn’t imagine planning a trip here and this being what we arrived to. It seems like a depressed area.

This is a unique place. A town square with a fountain surrounded by retail shops that have owner residences above. Old style German village concept.

Compact and walkable, many retail shops are open only on the weekends but the locals have the Village Haus Restaurant and Bar open daily.

The developer is building some single family homes in a new section and older resale units are available.

With Black Angus Brew Pub and antique vendors within walking distance and internet access, you wouldn't need a car - may be just a bike if you are lazy like me (LOL).

This is a wonderful place to stop for a hour or two to walk around, shop, eat, and just to admire the sights.

Like many other reviewers, I stumbled into this village whilst I was driving around looking for a place to eat on my way home from a trip. It's very picturesque, reminds me of Belle's town from Beauty and the Beast (minus angry villagers and beast, as far as I know). Not many people walking around, which makes for great photos. I stopped in a cafe and got an amazing strawberry and nutella crepe. The shops are on the bottom floor and the owners live above. Worth a stroll if you are in the neighborhood.

We booked this online for a nearby Octoberfest in Reading. Our place was clean located in the German type village. Seemed deserted which was a shame as it could be cool with the right foot traffic. Most stores were not open even on the weekend. Community has potential but needs marketing and vendors willing to be open.

Unfortunately, we took a hit during the economic downturn awhile back and a lot of shops closed and owners got discouraged. And the developer stopped building. But that has changed. We have a new builder, and some new shop owners have moved in. It's a process, but hopefully we will get more active in the near future. Thanks for visiting!

We are natives of Lancaster who happened by on a drive home from parts elsewhere. My husband and I both have German roots and were delighted by the food (and beer) at the restaurant. The village is reminiscent of Rothenburg; we had a lovely stroll with the kids, but, like so many other reviewers, we found the place deserted. If only the concept had caught on! I suppose in another less remote spot, it might have been a hit, but Adamstown is just a bit too removed for our taste. Such an awesome idea.

We were indeed originally modeled after Rothenburg. We are hoping for new life in the Village soon as we have a new builder and new residents who are opening shops. Hopefully the trend will continue! Thank you for visiting!

As a photographer, this place caught my eye and was very picturesque. My wife and I pulled over and started walking around. We couldn't figure out if we were in someone's neighborhood or if this was a tourist attraction with shopping and eating. I guess it's a little bit of both but we only found one store that was open and one restaurant. It was a small toy store and we never went in the restaurant. We walked around outside and weren't sure what else we were supposed to do in this little deserted village. We had fun taking some pictures but it was a bit like one of those TV movies where you find yourself asking, "where is everyone?" Very strange and yet intriguing as well. If people do live there in the buildings ... they were all hiding.

I stumbled upon this place during a run, and my husband and I later enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of exploring, chatting, and eating! Definitely a must when visiting anywhere near Lancaster County!
