If you are a tourist and this is your first trip to Austin, Texas, you absolutely must visit Allens Boots. Whether you are in the market for a pair of $3,000 alligator skin boots by Lucchese or just a belt buckle, it is a tourist attraction unlike any other. Located at 1522 South Congress Avenue, at Monroe Street, in the city's most popular tourist destination, this family owned Western-wear store was founded in 1977. It offers the largest selection of boots under one roof in the world, over 10,000 boots from well known brands such as Lucchese, Old Gringo, Frye, Liberty Black, Justin, Tony Lama and Ariat...riding boots, western, ankle boots, wedges, custom styles, exotic leathers, from Caiman crocodile skin to trendy western cowboy boots. Open from 9 to 8 Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 on Sunday, Allens Boots is easily identifiable by its red cowboy boot signage. When entering the store, you immediately notice the smell of leather. The store has an ample selection of classic boots, belts, buckles, hats, pearl snap shirts, leather jackets, jeans, bags and accessories for men and women. How do you look in a Stetson hat? How do you feel in a pair of Mad Dog Goats, a classic western cowboy boot by Lucchese? Take time to admire the framed photographs of celebrities who have shopped here, including Yoko Ono, Josh Brolin, Jimmy Kimmel, Hines Ward and the Beastie Boys. Folks in Austin say if you aren't wearing something that you bought at Allens Boots...well, you really aren't a cowboy.

A great place for your boot and hat needs plus more. All staff were very welcoming and helpful with all aspects and the choice is endless. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here then you never will!

The service is fantastic and the boot and hat selection as well; I ended up buying some Lucchese boots that I found them 60 bucks cheaper in some other random store inside Austin. The place is a mandatory stop if you're around SoCo though.

Was just in Austin over the New Year and wanted to add another pair of boots to my closet. I knew what I wanted in terms of style and color. Went in to their location in Austin but with little time to spare as they were closing in about 30 minutes. I was able to try on a few pairs and no one pushed me out of the store in fact they were more than friendly and answered all my questions as I browsed and tried on different pairs. Being respectful of the closing time I left without purchasing anything but had a few pair in mind that I wanted to think about. The following day was New Year's Eve and they were closing early but thought I could make it back before flying out on the 2nd. We had a day trip planned on the 31st and just so happened to pass by their location in Round Rock so we stopped there on our way back to Austin just to take a look and see if they might have anything different from their Austin location. Well lucky for me because they had a pair that I had not seen in Austin and they were the perfect shade of brown I wanted with the exact toe shape I was looking for. The staff was awesome there as well and answered all my questions and were very friendly. Walked out a happy camper with a new pair of boots.

I discovered Allens Boots on a trip to Austin to visit our son. Since then I go to Allens Boots every time I visit Austin, Texas. It is a must for me to go. They have a very large and diverse selection. Other family members have bought boots there also. Prices are very reasonable; staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have all price range of boots from handmade and Luchese to everyday affordable. I dare you to go there and not buy a pair of boots. Now my son has moved temporarily to California. I will have to go to Austin just to go to Allens!

Located on the street corner in one of the main strips of Austin. Tons of boot selection - male and female - and super friendly and helpful staff. Clean, no restrooms - go to the café next door. Park on the street where you can find it, don't go onto the side streets as that is permit parking for locals.

Lovely Lovely boots. Husband Got me 2 pairs for my 40th birthday, was so excited. But they are too small. I got a 6 which i am but i can't even get them on. He and i have both tried to email but have had no response. Im so upset as we spent alot on them and £80 on shipping and another £80 on import taxes and cant wear them

This place carries all sorts of hats, belts and boots that you could want. The service and prices are alright and it definitely deserves a visit if you're near SoCo.

Spent an hour and half here October 15. I found a pair of Tony Lamas i have been looking for everywhere for months plus a pair of their brand . We were waited on by Andrew and he couldnt have been better. He diligently checked the computer and back room For many sizes and styles. I have never had better customer service. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Definite must if you are in Austin and want boots. Pet friendly and parking right out front which is rare in Austin.
