Buying boots for our granddaughter (8years), we encountered a very knowledgeable, motivated and friendly sales lady. She was not trying to make a quick sale, but was patient and engaging with our granddaughter. This was one of our most positive shopping experiences in a long time for all of us.

Allens Boots has an extensive collection of high quality boots to choose from. I was in awe of the beauty and craftsmanship that goes into each individual pairs creation.
The store is well organised. The staff are friendly, patient and very informative when it comes to any questions you may have. (Shoutout to Ray who was lovely in helping me find the perfect pair of boots).
My advice to anyone going would be to take your time as the right pair of boots will find you.

Very friendly environment. Knowledgeable staff that did not pressure me and they were brutally honest about what looked best for me. I really appreciate that kind of feedback. Excellent selection. Fare industry pricing. Cool story to hang out in. They even gave me a nice beer to drink while I shopped. Boots, hats, clothes and accessories! All high quality. We had so much fun shopping. I got a killer pair of calf skin roopers.. very cool. I recommend them!

We ended up in here to kill some time and both left with cowboy boots! Allen boots are definitely an investment, but they seem very durable. The store has a great selection, and staff was so helpful guiding us on proper sizing and boot fashion. This would definitely be a fun stop even if you don’t plan to buy!

The cowboy boot shopping experience at Allens Boots was perfect. From the moment we arrived, Andrew looked after us. He helped me with sizing, choices and kept my boots and hat choices aside for us to pay later in the day. We returned to a really packed store (so glad we’d been there at opening time - one benefit of jetlag!) but Andrew was still serving everyone with the same ease and charm.
Ended up buying several things as having spent the day in Austin, we realised they had the best choice and were the best priced too.
If you’re looking for a pair of boots or anything western, just go straight to Allens.

Western wear and very large selection of boots. Even if you are not in the market for cowboy boots it is worth the stop. The staff is very helpful with sizing and styles. There is also a hat shop within where you can find just the right style and have it custom shaped. My family spent almost 2 hours in the store!

If you are a tourist and this is your first trip to Austin, Texas, you absolutely must visit Allens Boots. Whether you are in the market for a pair of $3,000 alligator skin boots by Lucchese or just a belt buckle, it is a tourist attraction unlike any other. Located at 1522 South Congress Avenue, at Monroe Street, in the city's most popular tourist destination, this family owned Western-wear store was founded in 1977. It offers the largest selection of boots under one roof in the world, over 10,000 boots from well known brands such as Lucchese, Old Gringo, Frye, Liberty Black, Justin, Tony Lama and Ariat...riding boots, western, ankle boots, wedges, custom styles, exotic leathers, from Caiman crocodile skin to trendy western cowboy boots. Open from 9 to 8 Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 on Sunday, Allens Boots is easily identifiable by its red cowboy boot signage. When entering the store, you immediately notice the smell of leather. The store has an ample selection of classic boots, belts, buckles, hats, pearl snap shirts, leather jackets, jeans, bags and accessories for men and women. How do you look in a Stetson hat? How do you feel in a pair of Mad Dog Goats, a classic western cowboy boot by Lucchese? Take time to admire the framed photographs of celebrities who have shopped here, including Yoko Ono, Josh Brolin, Jimmy Kimmel, Hines Ward and the Beastie Boys. Folks in Austin say if you aren't wearing something that you bought at Allens Boots...well, you really aren't a cowboy.

A great place for your boot and hat needs plus more. All staff were very welcoming and helpful with all aspects and the choice is endless. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here then you never will!

The service is fantastic and the boot and hat selection as well; I ended up buying some Lucchese boots that I found them 60 bucks cheaper in some other random store inside Austin. The place is a mandatory stop if you're around SoCo though.

Was just in Austin over the New Year and wanted to add another pair of boots to my closet. I knew what I wanted in terms of style and color. Went in to their location in Austin but with little time to spare as they were closing in about 30 minutes. I was able to try on a few pairs and no one pushed me out of the store in fact they were more than friendly and answered all my questions as I browsed and tried on different pairs. Being respectful of the closing time I left without purchasing anything but had a few pair in mind that I wanted to think about. The following day was New Year's Eve and they were closing early but thought I could make it back before flying out on the 2nd. We had a day trip planned on the 31st and just so happened to pass by their location in Round Rock so we stopped there on our way back to Austin just to take a look and see if they might have anything different from their Austin location. Well lucky for me because they had a pair that I had not seen in Austin and they were the perfect shade of brown I wanted with the exact toe shape I was looking for. The staff was awesome there as well and answered all my questions and were very friendly. Walked out a happy camper with a new pair of boots.
