A landmark in Bhuj, and located next to Prag Mahal, Ainu Mahal gives you a good peek into the regal lifestyles of yesteryears in this part of the country.

This palace, residence of the last maharajas of Bhuj, is worth a visit for the variety of objects on display, which belonged to the ruling family of the area. The strong point is the hall of mirrors, mirrors that are actually a little opaque as they are ancient. In the room there is also a stuffed lioness as well as objects of the most varied nature. The ticket costs only thirty rupees but you have to spend another hundred to take photographs. It is worth spending them because inside the palace there are very photogenic objects.

Prag mahal is well maintained but Aina mahal is cramped and so lacks ventilation. It was too hot and humid to spend extended time looking at the wonderful artefacts.
It’s a pity that the original building is now marked unsafe after it suffered destruction during the earthquake in 2001.
Very polite staff and there was hardly any crowd as it is off season.

Old palace with the "aina" being a misnomer. Most of the glass is broken and stained. Lot of artifacts from the reign of the Jadeja clan .
The information related to them , though, can do with an uplift . Most of it is handwritten.
Not the best, but worth a visit

It's so sad and shameful that precious history and artifacts are left to literally gather dust and lie in tatters.
What promised to be a beautiful slice of royal life from Kutch's glorious past, is a pitifully crumbling edifice with heirlooms buried under layers of dust and a mockery of the name 'aina mahal' (palace of mirrors), where the mirrors are cracked and stained and reflect only the sad state of affairs.
Signages (if any!) are literally scrawled on old, stained slips of paper. Large sections have no descriptions or translated text. The one part that suddenly hits the eye is a laminated, typed brochure selling hotel rooms at a property owned by the erstwhile royal family.
If the Trust that manages this can't cope with the maintenance, it's better to just move the heirlooms to a private collection. Truly, this is actually a disrespect to a glorious past.
We left saddened and disheartened. Also couldn't fathom, why one is expected to take off footwear before entering... surely this is not adding to the inches of dust on the artifacts and the peeling layers of paint?

Very beautiful palace with rich history and heritage of Kutch, with a lot of artefacts. A lot of glass could be seen on roof and walls in the palace but Sheen has faded, due to lack of maintenance.A part of the compound was under renovation, a part was in total ruins, sadly. In such remote areas, cultural heritage needs more protection and conservation.
Most of the pictures uploaded by travellers here, are of Parag Mahal, which shares the same compound. Photography was prohibited inside Aina Mahal.

This is a nice 1-2 hour sightseeing place - depicts the rulers of Kutch and its past history.
Countless number of artefacts makes it’s an interesting sightseeing place.

Yesteryear palace of mirror art work and royal belonging are kept here for exhibition.
However it is now in dilapidated condition and needs renovation badly.
Nothing so special to see here. They even charge for smart phone to carry inside.
