At the foothills of the fort is a cave called Pandav Leni with beautifully carved entrance and a stone idol of Rishabhanatha in the Garbha Griha. The cave has a large Sabha Mandapa. The western entrance to the fort is a unique structure of architecture. The steps and the entrance gate is carved from a single rock. There is an idol of veer Hanuman or Maruti near the entrance gate and two Sharabha idols carved on the top of the entrance gate. On the fort are ruins of old buildings and a small Bhavani Mata temple. There are caves and a rock-cut water cistern on the western side of the hillock on the fort.

Trek to Tringalwadi Fort
des. 2018 • Familie
We planned a four hour trek to Tringlewadi on saturday morning . Two families with four adults and four kids started our travel from Igatpuri in an Innova . Route till triglewadi base village is by enlarge good except for last one km . We reached the base village ( as shown by Mr Google) by 8 Am . We asked for local help as guide , which locals were ready to comply with . One suggestion, dont go on this trek without local help . Initial walk till the Jain caves is around 1km and is on flat track going though farms and near a small lake . Jain cave was our first stop . Three pillars inside cave are broken so is the head of deity. Climb to fort starts from this point . Its not a very difficult trek , even my 9 yr old Daughter could climb it . Next stop was first flag on a hill prior to main fort . This was wonderful spot with valley on both sides and super breeze . We then climbed fort from right side where we could see two caves , one with water and other without. There is small temple at the end . Some ruins are also seen around . We then wend to other side of the mountain where there are steps made in rock overseeing valley . This is one of best spots and highlight of trek . Dont miss it . We then came back to first hill from back side of mountain. Climb down to base was easy one .
Suggestion- carry enough water , buiscuits and eatables from Igatpuri . There are no shops or hotels till the base camp. Some slopes are slippery so wear shoes with good grip. Locals are friendly and as they survive on weekend trekkers, tip them as per your choice .(300-500)

The experience was awesome. Walking through plains in middle of mountains, through fields and small streams to get to caves at base of the fort was a wonderful experience.

Visit to Caves
jun. 2018 • Familie
One of the major tourist attractions in Igatpuri, the Tringalwadi Fort is an architectural marvel located at a height of about 3000 ft amidst the Sahayadri hill range. The fort offers a sweeping view of the surrounding region. The top of the Tringalwadi fort looks similar to a turban. It is estimated that the fort is present since the 10 th century. Mughals took over the fort in the year 1688.Today the fort is in ruins but it is worth a visit. To reach the fort you will have to walk to the Tringalwadi Lake via a narrow pathway. The fort houses a small temple dedicated to Hanuman. From the fort, you can also see the Kulang and Kalsubai mountain ranges. Monsoon is the best time to go for a trek to Tringalwadi Fort.

Another attraction here is the Pandav leni caves, which are located at the foothill of the fort. Inside the caves, there is a statue of Gautam Buddha. You will come across many caves on your way up to the fort.

Nice trek uphill
apr. 2017 • Venner
Visited the Tringalwadi Fort located near Igatpuri and some distance away from Nashik.

The trek uphill was quite smooth and fun to walk on the grassy patch after reaching the top. Enjoyed the silence and serenity of the place and spent quite some time gazing at the calm mountain ranges.

Easy trek… Great place for photography…

The fort is located near village Tringalwadi. It does not have any fort walls existing except unique entrance door and natural fortification. The Tringalwadi irrigation dam which is close to the village was built in 1978. The village Tringalwadi has located 7 km from Igatpuri. Igatpuri is located on Mumbai-Nashik Railway route as well as National Highway NH 160.There are two routes to reach the village Tringalwadi from Igatpuri first one passes through Igatpuri town and the other is by taking a northern exit to NH160 at Ghoti, further passing through village Balayaduri. The Tringalwadi fort is located on a hill which runs north-south. It is a mesa rock formation. The climb is very easy and takes about 1.5 hrs to reach the top of the fort from the village.

The fort top is grassy with only a few water tanks and a couple of ruins. We rested and ate, gazing at the mountains around and then walked along the grassy expanse towards a small temple. In front of the temple is a ‘trishul’ and a flag. With a majestic mountain as a backdrop, this is an ideal point to snap pics. From the temple, we climbed up to reach the highest point of the fort. There is nothing much here except for the view of the countryside. The silence and beauty was wonderful

It was a perfect place for photography and we made the most of it by clicking on everything that looked interesting.

Lovely Fort trek
aug. 2017 • Familie
Tringalwadi Fort makes for a lovely trek and nature tour when going to Nadhik or Igatpuri.

About an hour and a half from Nashik, one can climb up to the fort at leisure or also visit the caves down below. There's also the scenic Gringalwadi lake nearby.

All in all a great place to go especially during Monsoon season
