This temple was formerly an abandoned temple that has been transformed into one of the most famous meditation places in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. By Luang Phor Surasak History of Luang Pho Surasak Khemarangsi, abbot of Wat Maheyong.

At that time he had only been ordained for 3 years. But you must be both a teacher and a teacher. and students continue their higher studies as well

Within the temple, the premises are managed smoothly and efficiently. Try to adjust the scenery of the place to be conducive to Dhamma practice, such as the Amatadham area, shady and cool, with various types of planted forests to simulate a virtual forest. There is a large swimming pool to help cool off. Peaceful and relaxing by the pool, able to walk and meditate. You can meditate when the sun is shaded or the wind is down, after 4:00 p.m. And there is a Dharmachakra courtyard in front of the Big Buddha, with a Buddha image in the posture of giving his first sermon, which is shaded by various kinds of greenery. It is next to Sala Khema Rangsi to the south. For walking and meditation during the day and there is a clear division of upasaka-upasika zones. There is no opportunity to mingle like other places.
The practices here are standardized. is the middle way (middle) not too slack Not too serious There is time to rest as appropriate. Suitable for people who are new to training. The location and surroundings are determined. Inside the temple area is very clean and orderly.

Serenity must be the theme of this temple complex. It is so peaceful and quiet and well worth walking around and enjoying the beauty of the area. Definitely worth taking the time for a visit!

Wat Maheyong is located about 5 Km from Wat MahaThat. There is an entrance ticket here, but you can use your combi 220 Baht ticket, if you have bought it earlier. There are sign boards, illustrating on its history and significance.
The Wat was not crowded as it is off the main tourist circuit. There is a long walkway leading to the exhibits. The exhibits here are the Chedi, and the ordination hall. The Chedi's platform is supported by 80 sculpted elephants. There is ample greenery around.
There is a monastery and retreat centre here and discreet dressing is needed.
The place bounds to be hot, therefore carry a hat, sun lotion and water. We spend about 1 hour here. You will need, to have your own transport, otherwise you’ll be stranded here. For us, the trip was worth the effort

This is a temple complex that dates from the 1400’s. It was first restored in 1711, and then destroyed again during the Burmese invasion. The ordination hall and several other building are in good restored condition.
