This UNESCO site is very impressive for me to visit about prehistorical stories, past business ( guano collection, swiflet’s nest collection ) , cavetology and nature enjoyment . Starting my day early from downtown Miri by self driving on AH150, or local coastside highway, I arrived the first one at the park HQ , then registered by mobilephone . Let begin my journey from crossing Niah river to the walking trail other side , walking on concrete path, wooden path passing through tropical rainforest for 2.5 km then I reached toilets and handicraft center (where drinks , snacks and souvenirs were available), finally first cave was trader cave , great cave , to end up at painted cave . The great cave was very dark in about 8-10 miute walk ( headlamp is recommended )the last part to reach the other muth of cave complex , to walk for 400 meters tp painted cave . It’s soking sweaty hot so another polo shirt to be changed is good too. After about 2-3 hours enjoying the cave/trail , I visited anthropological museum of Niah, before crossing back to the Park HQ.

I travel from Miri to Gua Niah takes about 1 hour 30 minutes drive. When reach, 1st go to the Counter on the left of the entrance to buy admission ticket. After that, move to the Jetty on the right house (got toilet) and follow the sign board to take the board cross the river (just opposite - cost RM1/way). When arrived, you can 1st go to visit the Galley to understand the story before you enter to the Cave. Once done, you may start to walk the thru the bridge (it take at least +/- 30mins) to reach the rest area before you enter to the cave (got toilet, sell drinks, snacks & souvenir). Recommend go to toilet before next move. when you reach the Cave, please look at the sign board on your left and start your journey (recommend don't start from the staircase). When reach the T-Junction, go straight if you want to explore more to the Paint Cave, if not, can choose to turn right which down from the staircase).
Please remember to wear at least sport shoes and light clothes also bring head light + touch light as inside the cave is very dark and slippery. Cheers!!!

Honestly, this is the best place we can visit to challenge dear-self with other environment. Niah Cave is the largest cave in Sarawak. The cave is the earliest living quarters in prehistoric times.
This Niah Cave is also a cave that has a calm and peaceful nature.
In this cave we can calm our minds from everyday problems as examples of stress at work, disturbances around us and so forth.Inside this cave we will hear the sound of a swirling bird.In this cave we will learn how to produce and form the cave.
Before we visit to Niah Cave we must provide the appropriate equipment and enough. For example,a touch, wearing a using the appropriate shoes as long as the path in the cave is very slippery.

I was excited to go the Niah Cave. It's the biggest cave I've been in and it have a lot of flora and fauna. They conserve the cave very well too. We went through everything, we cross the river, we walk through the jungle, traders cave, the great cave, gan kira and the painted cave but the hardest time that we been through is the time that we walk through the dark passage way before we reach the Gan Kira. It is the same experience as we walk back to the headquarters. I honestly think it's totally challenging at first but when i try it, i totally got it wrong. It was not totally challenging this is because the trail been made for the tourist and make it easier for us to walk. The only challenging part is the stairs and the dark passage way. On that day it was tiring and I almost give up to trek until the painted cave but i did it but its very fun, exciting and bonding experiences for me.

First thing to get to the entrance, you must get boat ride that only takes 2 mins to crossed the river. Please wear proper clothing and shoes that have grip.Avoid wear out shoes, because some of the paths are quite slippery. There are not much light in the cave, so make sure to bring your own torchlight/headlamp especially at the scary passage. Next, you will have to walk a few hours to the cave, and then walk a few hours back to the headquarters. In that case, bring enough water to avoid dehydration.Snacks can keep you energized while exploring in the forest or the cave.Bring camera to capture the views and scenery, sometimes forest creatures that you see during your trip. Who knows, you might capture something amazing!

I honestly in love with this place, especially the nature is really nice and cool. Good chance to see and learn about the flora and fauna along the way and the history and story of the caves. An extensive network of plankwalks to and throughout the caves. A torch (flashlight) and good walking shoes are absolutely essential - the caves are unlit, and the plankwalk can become slippery from the constant dripping of water from the ceiling of the cave.

Niah is not as pretty as Mulu, neither is it as well maintained. However, Niah cave was inhibited by people in the early ages and this is evident through the drawings on the wall of the painting cave. Sadly these drawings are fading from light exposure so there is now a fencing to protect the drawings as well.

Although the park is not as well-maintained, I think that the painting caves are worth the visit.

Bring a head lamp or torch as some of the places can be really dark! The paths can be slippery if it has rained as well so be careful and wear good shoes.

Karcis masuknya lumayan murah. Cuma RM10 aja kalian bisa masuk ke Gua terbesar di Malaysia tapi awas ya kalian harus berjalan selama 1 jam untuk masuk ke guanya.
