Beautiful building, but now visible from outside only and behind fences as it is under renovation. Therefore visits are not possible, probably for a year as the guard told us at the entrance

People typically spend up to 1.5 hThe Museum of History in Târgoviște represents an important touristic objective of the region, but also a location where a large part of the traditions of the nation are intertwined with the historical testimonies of the Romanian state.
The History Museum of Târgoviște is located in the center of the city, the former capital of Romania, in the old building of the local court. The placement of the Museum in this place has in itself a historical significance, the building becoming one of the important architectural monuments of the city, dating from 1902.
Inside it we can admire an important collection of archaeological and historical pieces discovered in the region. These collections are of great antiquity, reminding us of the times of our existence on this protected land, dating back to prehistoric times.
On the ground floor of the building, every year, on various occasions, the management organizes various exhibitions, as well as numerous shows.ours here

Se siete appassionati di storia e conoscete lo sviluppo della rivoluzione romena del 1989 dovete passare per questo posto. Il costo del biglietto è irrisorio, mi sembra intorno ai 3€, la visita è libera e si visita veramente con pochi minuti. Io sono arrivato in macchina ed ho parcheggiato liberamente al parcheggio della stazione a 100 metri dall'ingresso

מקום שחובה לכל רומני לבקר בו וגם לתיירים שרוצים להבין מה עבר על המדינה הזו בתקופת הקומוניזם. תקופה שהסתיימה בחצר היחידה הצבאית הקטנה בטרגובישטה בירתה הקודמת של רומניה.

Machine à remonter le temps, pour revivre le procès expéditif et l'exécution de Ceausescu. Lieu peu visité, mais qui vaut le détour. Accueil en roumain exclusivement, paiement en espèces uniquement.

This is the building, now museum, where Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife were tried and executed. It is now old, dilapidated, and not maintained very well or used except for the area of the trial. Entry cost was 8 ron and there is an addition charge to take photos. The rooms are very small and you can tell by the furniture it was a very poor country in 1989. It appears they do not want to glamorize the event or persons as there were limited photos. There is a room where they checked President Ceausescu and his wife medically before the trial. There is room with the tables and chairs that the trial was in. There are two chairs in a corner where they sat. The other tables were used for the defense, prosecutors and guards. There is a room with the beds where they ate and slept. You can go outside and see the area where they stood them up and used automatic weapons to kill them. There were no trees there at that time as now. I recommend you do some research on the subject before you visit this museum as it would help you understand the dynamics of the event.

Jag var i Targoviste och hade möjligheten att besöka Museum of Communism som är en gammal militärbarrack där paret Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu avrättades. Litet museum som egentligen bara innehåller rummet där de förhördes och åtalades samt sovplatsen. Utanför på innegården finns platsen där de senare avrättads. Lite makabert på ett sätt men ändå intressant som en del av historien om kommunismens fall.

Μικρή χρέωση για φώτο χωρίς κάποιου είδους ξενάγηση ή επεξηγηματικού φυλαδίου. Υπάρχουν βιντεάκια βέβαια στο ίντερνετ που δείχνουν ακριβώς τα γεγονότα που συνέβισαν στον συγκεκριμένο χώρο.

Denominado como Museu de Comunismo, foi neste edifício, uma Unidade Militar, onde o ditator Nicolae Ceasescu e a sua esposa Elena passaram os últimos dias da sua vida. Aqui foram julgados e executados.
Os visitantes limitam-se apenas a verem o quarto onde o casal passou as últimas noites, a sala do julgamento e o local da execução, no pátio exterior.
A falta de informação é notória!

When you learn about the Communist regime of Romania...you know that this place is an Historical site...It may give you shiver.The museum is cheap and not well filled with object.The place were the trial happen is almost entirely preserved.It it not touristy at all and Targoviste also dont look pretty touristy but in historical perspective it is a landmark.
They dont promote any idea for or against communist but just show what happened in december 1989.To be infront of the wall filled with bullet hole is I dont know...Find it by yourself of you are on the way to Targoviste.
