If you are a history buff, you will love it here.
Multiple art themes competing with each other, each better than the other. It has a quiet garden outside where you can relax after the visit.

The condition of the building was an utter disgrace it’s almost like nobody cares. As soon as we walked in we wanted to find the exit.
The exhibits were poorly displayed and the interior decor was in astonishing bad condition.
There are no facilities not even a basic cafe where you could get a bottle of water…nothing!
Tourists from outside India have to pay a 300 rupees a head whilst tourists from India pay around 50 rupees.
I wouldn’t mind if there money was being invested into the collection of art and to maintain the building but obviously it’s not.
There are better things to do in Jaipur, for us this tourist attraction is appalling.

In 1876, Prince Albert Edward of England visited Jaipur. While in the city, he laid the foundation stone of ‘Albert Halll’ named after him, though it was yet to be decided what use the building would be put to. Designed in an Indo-Saracenic style by the famous architect Samuel Swinton Jacobs, Albert Hall was completed in 1887 and formed into a museum, its collection drawn from across India and the world.
The collection spreads across two floors, individual galleries being devoted to a wide range of crafts: porcelain and pottery, carved stone, carpets, weaponry, paintings and more (there’s even an Egyptian mummy). The artefacts themselves are generally in very good condition and excellently displayed (besides, of course, being of very high quality: this is aesthetics at its best), and they’re mostly well-labelled. Also worth admiring is the beauty of the building itself, with its fine carvings, stucco, incised plaster, and more. Huge replicas of famous murals from around the world adorn some of the walls, adding to the overall beauty of the space.
Definitely worth visiting if you’re at all interested in art and craft.

There are lots of things to see but without someone to correctly explain it to you, all the things are just ancient artefacts.
The brass items and blue Pottery are beautiful. There are guns which are longer than an average human. Wonder how they were used.
The section which struck me most was the one with stone carvings. All the faces and body parts of the idols were destroyed. It was a really heartbreaking thing to see all that. It was more sad to listen to a man explaining to his group that they were destroyed during transportation.
We can spend a good over 1 hour in the museum . There is an entry fee. Students are charged lesser. So carry the id if you have a student in your group.
You can also buy a composite ticket for 9 attractions in Jaipur.
There is also paid car parking

it’s beautiful from outside at nighttime. Inside there is way too many collections it’s mind boggling. The building gets its name from The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the inspiration for its design. The exquisitely built Albert Hall is housed in the centre of Ram Niwas Garden. Sir Swinton Jacob (who is also the mastermind behind many other palaces in Rajasthan) conceptualised and designed it using styles from the Indo-Sarcenic architecture and the Prince of Wales laid the foundation stone of the building in 1876. The museum displays a wide range of metal objects, wood crafts, carpets, stone and metal sculptures, arms and weapons, natural stones and ivory goods. It also houses a large collection of miniatures from Bundi, Kota, Kishangarh, Udaipur and Jaipur schools of art.

What a delightful museum! A very beautiful ornate building, a lovely diverse collection, well displayed and set out so that you could make sure to see everything. The museum is not too big, so that you can have and hour and half and know you didn’t miss anything. We had a most enjoyable visit and happy to recommend some time here.

Albert Hall Museum is one of the best places to explore Jaipur’s history and culture. Located in a beautiful old building in the city, it’s the oldest museum in Rajasthan and a must-visit for history lovers.Inside, you’ll find an amazing collection of artifacts, including ancient sculptures, beautiful paintings, traditional jewelry, and pottery. One of the main highlights is the Egyptian mummy, which fascinates visitors of all ages. Each item tells a story about the rich heritage of Rajasthan and beyond. The museum is also famous for its stunning architecture, combining Indian and European styles. The grand building itself is as much a part of the experience as the exhibits inside.

Really enjoyed the museum, full of interesting artefacts and history from the area, set over 2 floors in a historical building a must see when visiting Jaipur.
Only a few days earlier visited Indian museum in Kolkata and this museum in Jaipur is so much better.

Skrevet 9. november 2018
What is the approximate time to be spent here? I plan to visit during evening after the place is lit up.
Skrevet 26. august 2018
Depends on what is the purpose. I went as a photographer so took around 2 hours to capture in and around the place. You will take less time if you only see. Primarily because all of it is the antique stuff of the maharajah fancy. If you want to see the details then longer

Hi, it will be of immense help to me if you kindly let me know timing of the day when we should visit this palace. And what is the estimated time needed to cover the palace.
Skrevet 20. mars 2015
Hi, you can visit it from 10 am to 5 in evening. Depends on your interest to be honest. If you really want to see, explore and take pictures of each and everything then 3-4 hrs or else you can sum it up in an hours time at most.
