I went to see the excellent cook Sundari today and cooked a 3-course meal with her. She took a lot of time to explain the specialties of Indian cuisine and develop an understanding of the food and spices.
In the end I was allowed to enjoy a lot of delicious food in her living room in a cozy atmosphere.

We had a perfect time with Sundari! She is so friendly and helped us with all our wishes. It felt like cooking with family - I can strongly recommend her cooking class! The Dinner was amazing and also shopping with her after cooking was perfect.

This is likely to remain one of the most memorable things we did on our trip through India! I cannot stress enough just how wonderfully unique of an experience Sundari made this cooking class, and how unconditionally welcoming she and her family were.
We (my girlfriend and myself) enjoy food and enjoy cooking, so naturally an opportunity to learn how to cook authentic South Indian food was a must-do for us. We expected to have a fun afternoon trying our hand at completely new foods, under supervision, and what we got was so much more! Sundari and her family shared with us aspects of their culture and beliefs, explained the significance of different ingredients and dishes, and gave us pointers for making the most of the remainder of our travels in India.
We came as curious travellers, strangers ... And left feeling like an extension of Sundari 's family.

Cooking with Sundari was so much fun! We learned a lot and laughed. You are welcome to tell her in advance which direction you would like to cook, especially if you have favorite dishes that you would like to recook at home. The vegetables are pre-cut and you are guided through the recipe piece by piece and thus cook -almost- independently.
She and her husband are just heavenly and super sweet - I would book it again and again.
The recipes are available afterwards via WhatsApp, so you can cook nicely at home.

It was an amazing experience with Sundari mam. I was an absolute beginner of cooking when I joined her classes. She puts in so much of effort to teach you the recipe from the very basics. Every moment in the class would be productive. Each and every step would be so clear that you will end up getting the same output even when you try at home. I started off with few dishes in South Indian cooking and seeing the results , I wanted to learn more from her and I did. Lovely and friendly atmosphere in her classes is worth mentioning. She expertises in South Indian , North Indian , continental and what not . Must try if you are serious about learning to cook. Thank you so much mam!

Sundari is a great cook and host. She will discuss with you over whatsapp what you prefer to cook and hoe many dishes and explains very clearly how tonreach her beautiful home. Once you arrive, you are welcomed as family and she shares so much information about food, culture and cooling skills. She is skilled in balancing preparing the ingredients upfront and letting guests make the dishes themselves. I made 3 dishes under her guidance and enjoyed anlovely lunch and afternoon with Sundari . I would recommend it to everybody wanting to learn more avout Indian food and culture, you will enjoy the experience and take back nice memories home.

I can only support the positive comments. Sundari and her husband, who stopped by briefly, are incredibly warm; you can only feel comfortable with them! You decide in advance whether you want to get to know the northern or southern Indian cuisine, Sundari then shops accordingly and off you go. She runs the course regardless of the number of participants, so even if you are alone, and takes into account different tastes and food intolerances (notify this in advance!). Contact uncomplicated via What’sApp; she responds very quickly. In the end she went with me to a supermarket around the corner so I could take home the spices we used to prepare the food. Recipes are available via WhatsApp. She is a passionate cook and knows an incredible amount about cuisine. You can also learn a lot about the South Indian culture and, if you like, about the very personal. A really great experience that I can recommend to anyone, even if you are not particularly interested in cooking. Thank you so much, Sundari, for this wonderful and unforgettable experience! You are a great person , so friendly and warm-hearted and I will recommend anyone going to Chennai to take a course from you!

It was such a great experience, I booked this cooking class with some of my colleagues. We had a wonderful time with Sundari, she is so warm-hearted and a great cooking teacher. We felt welcomed from the first moment. The food was tasty and very delicious. We also got some more information about Indian culture. I can highly recommend Sundari.

Sounds lovely. I can't find any information on approximate cost though. Can someone provide some input on about how much this costs?

The cost quoted here is roughly correct at current exchange rate. In local currency -
3000Rs for 3 course experience
4500Rs for 5 course experience
