中国の友人含めて4名で朱家角を観光しました。入口から400メートルほど細い路地を通って放生橋まで行きました。橋の上から朱家角の全景を見ることができ、家々が密集していることがよく分かりました。その後入口に戻りながらお茶屋さんに立ち寄りました。冷房の効いた茶屋で川と放生橋を眺めながらのんびりしました。その後、和心園という昔の邸宅の内部を500円ほど支払って見学しました。思ったより内部は広く、部屋や庭園は立派で印象的でした。歩いた距離は1kmほどだと思いますが全工程でちょうど100分でした。参考になればと思います。

Comodamente raggiungibile con la metropolitana da Shanghai, questa piccola Venezia cinese sull’acqua non delude. Un po’ difficile orientarsi senza guida e indicazioni chiare, ma una volta raggiunto il tratto d’acqua principale, ci si può perdere tra botteghe, negoziati d’arte e tante offerte gastronomiche. Esistono alternative migliori nel paese, ma nessuna così facilmente raggiungibile e a portata di mano. Consigliato anche il giro in barca tra i canal e un curioso Starbucks in un interessante edificio “storico”.

I recently visited the Ancient Town at Zhujiajiao as a solo traveler, and I had a great time! The town is absolutely beautiful, with its narrow streets, traditional Chinese architecture, and canals. I really enjoyed exploring the town and learning about its history.
The only downside was that it was quite crowded, especially on weekends. This made it difficult to get around at times, and it was also hard to find a quiet spot to sit and relax. However, the crowds didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the visit.
Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting the Ancient Town at Zhujiajiao. It's a great place to spend a day exploring and learning about Chinese culture. Just be sure to go during the week if you want to avoid the crowds.
Tips:
1. Visit during the week to avoid the crowds.
2. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of walking.

Its an old scenic village with stalls lined up along the allies.
The feel I had was that the place isn't very organized. Zhujiajiao doesnt really exhibit the feel of an old, ancient village. The nearby area are all residential. I took a 1 hour 10mins cab ride. (during non-peak hours* duration is subjective, due to the traffic) from Pudong area to reach here.
***Advised to visit the temples here only
in groups of 8s & 10s/ when you see alot more crowd inside.***

It is only an hour drive from Pudong, an old water town worth visiting. There were many cute little local cafes as well as western ones. We were glad to see the streets an bridges after sunset especially decorated for the new year.

Ms. Mulane from China Hightlights took me there and helped a lot in explaining the customs, different kinds of foods, taking me to a Chinese clasical song concert. Although the weather was rainy and cold, the experience was exquisite because of Ms. Mulane help and flexibility in adjusting the visit.

Old world charm. The buildings were fantastic. People were welcoming. Shops and cafes. Boat rides on offer. Well worth a look.

Took the subway 90 min to get there from downtown Shanghai. Easy walk to old town from train station and we are glad we made this trip! Lots of cool shops, cafes, bars and we also took a gondola ride. 10 min and not really worth it but fun nonetheless. Architecture and views were amazing and we spent roughly 6 hours there. Plan one day and enjoy it. While there's crowds, you'll always fine quieter alleys and side streets.

Beautiful well preserved ancient town. I am amazed by the house design and architecture. but, food was not very tasty there...(crying)

Man kann mittlerweile mit der Metro-Linie sehr einfach nach Zhujiajiao fahren. Wenn man aussteigt, sind es etwa 25 zu Fuss in die Altstadt. Mit Maps.me kann man das gut erreichen und man braucht keinen Bus oder Rikscha-Fahrer. Das Städtchen ist sehr idyllisch und sehr interessant für einen 3-4 stündigen Ausflug. Es gibt Gondel-Fahrer und auch viele Brücken, aber es ist allenfalls ein Hauch von Venedig - es soll ja auch nicht Venedig sein....Auf jeden Fall bekommt man einen schönen Eindruck, wie die chinesischeb Städte , geschichtlich betrachtet, ausgesehen haben müssen. Und mit ein wenig Phantasie, kann man das Leben und Treiben vor 100-300 Jahren in diesen Gassen erahnen. An einigen Verkaufsständen riecht es - für westliche Nasen - ausserordentlich streng... aber gut, das gehört dazu, zum sammeln von fremden Eindrücken.

How easy is it to organise a boat cruise once you arrive at Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. Is as simple as waliking up to one of the operators on the side of the canal? Any info welcomed, thank you.

Simple and easy. There are plenty of boats available, in at least 3 different locations that we saw. We caught the boat near the Gardens. There is a booth where you pay, prices are set. We paid less for a whole boat to ourselves, there were 2 of us, than paying separate individual fares.

yes, it is a small town with bars and shops and looks pretty at night. We were there until about 7 or 8 pm

Bonjour voyageur. Nous sommes allés avec un ami qui habite à Shanghai. Nous prenons un taxi. Mais s'il y a des bus qui vont à cette attraction touristique. Le centre de transport Shanghai Travel Bus est situé à la porte 12 du stade de Shanghai. Il y a des bus qui partent d'ici vers la ville de l'eau de Zhujiajiao toutes les 30 minutes de 7h30 à 11h10. Le dernier bus quitte la ville de l'eau de Zhujiajiao pour regagner Shanghai à 16h00. Les bus de Shanghai à Zhujiajiao partent de la porte 5 du stade de Shanghai.
S'ils partent tôt, il est possible de voyager en 3 heures environ. J'espère que ma réponse vous servira

I would not take a taxi all the way to zhujiajiao. Public Bus is pretty convenient and fast only at 12RMB one way. Bus stop is in walking distance from Peoples Park or you can take a taxi from that area to bus stop around 30 RMB.
Since bus starts from there, your seat is pretty much guaranteed.

Hi I read people mentioning bout the new Line 17 that goes to zhujiajiao. Can i have more info on that. How do i get to Zhujiajiao via subway? Do i go to Hongqiao Raiway Station and transfer from there? Thanks!

I went there by subway. Very easy. Get on line 2 to Hongqiao railway station. Then transfer to line 17.
