We did the Sloth Tour with Jorge Eduardo and had a great time. A biologist by background, Jorge was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the vegetation, but also the history of Costa Rica and pretty much anything else we asked him about. We first visited a beautiful waterfall and then went to Finca Verde in the rainforest between two volcanos. We saw a mother and baby sloth, many toucans, a blue jeans frog (red body with blue legs), and several red eyed frogs (they were sleeping so all we saw was green that blended with the leaves under which they were sleeping. We were with our 12 year old daughter and almost 14 year old son, and we all had a great time. Highly recommend Marigi Tours and Jorge as your tour guide!

So we did a tour with Mardigi to the waterfalls and mud baths and hot springs of Costa Rica, It was wonderful. Our guide Jorge was magnificent.… He took the time to give us an incredible amount of knowledge of Costa Rica and the region we were visiting. Highly recommend Mardigi for your tours

Buena Vista Adventure was the best tour ever!! My wife and I had the best experience. Our personal tour guide, Eduardo Mallorca was amazing! Very knowledgeable ( biologist), professional, and extremely kind. Our tour included a full day of fun and adventure of Extreme Zip Line 7 Cables( amazing) ,Water Slide(WoW, the tsunami is fast!!!)Horseback Riding ,Hot Spring and Volcanic Mud Sauna( great way to end your exciting day), and Waterfall. The lunch and coffee were also excellent. All of this with our private guide Eduardo. He took pictures of us throughout the tours and narrated the entire day. I cannot recommend him and his tours enough! We are already planning our next visit to the beautiful country of Costa Rica!

We took a day tour with Eduardo, and he was the absolute best tour guide we could have dreamed of. On the drive to and from we heard local history, stories, recommendations of places to eat and sites to see. Throughout the tour, Eduardo was our “personal paparazzi”, as he said. He went through all of the activities with us, making sure we had a constant smile on our faces. He even showed us a beautiful waterfall, which was an added bonus and surprise! Eduardo is a fantastic person, and although the views would have been just as pretty, the day would not have been the same without him as our guide. When we come back to Costa Rica again, we will surely be seeking him out!

The exceptional service and knowledge Chris Chavez shared was outstanding! He took his time to answer any and all questions we had during our tour and went above and beyond our expectations. He was also kind and considerate throughout. We could not have asked for a better guide or experience. We highly suggest booking your next tour with Mardigi Tours. With much appreciation, Margarita and Nelida - Pura Vida!

My husband and I had an unforgettable day tour with Jorge Eduardo. I am 7 months pregnant and this was our one excursion during our babymoon. It did not disappoint!! Mardigi made sure the tour was modified to something I would be able to handle and enjoy. Eduardo was the best, He was super knowledgable and passionate about nature which really added to the the experience. He had a great eye for different wildlife and so many facts about each animal. We saw frogs, toucans, sloths, monkeys, crested guans, snakes, lizards and other rare birds. We finished the day at some hot springs with 12 different pools had a wide variety of temperatures to accommodate everyone. Definitely recommend!!!

We had a full-day private tour from Peninsula Papagayo to the rainforest with a brilliant tour guide, Jorge Eduardo, from Mardigi Tours. He took us to the LLanos del Cortes waterfall, the Las Pumas Wildlife Rescue Centre, and Bijagua (by Tenorio Volcano) to see sloths and other animals, birds, reptiles and plants in the rainforest.
It was an amazing day start to finish. Jorge is a biologist and used to do field work in the wild, so he's incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and their environments, as well as being passionate about conservation.
At Las Pumas, we saw monkeys, macaws, parrots, toucans, ocelots, a jaguar, a puma, a couple of small creatures called grisons (something like a small but real tough badger), and a sloth.
Bijagua was halfway up Tenorio volcano at the edge of a rainforest. Another guide, Jamie, helped show us around there. There we saw sloths moving among the upper branches of the trees, including one carrying a baby, and (highlight) a young one hanging out in low branches almost face to face with us. Jorge and Jamie were thrilled and said it was so rare to see this, we should buy lottery tickets (we did, but didn't win). There were also bats clustered under palm leaves, capuchin monkeys jumping through the trees and hanging out near the restaurant, and a few tiny gemlike frogs under leaves - a "strawberry/jeans" frog due to colouring, and a "red-eyed frog", the bright green kind associated with Costa Rica.
We took hundreds of photos and a bunch of videos, but they wouldn't have been nearly as good without Jorge and Jamie taking some photos for us through their telephoto equipment.
After that was a great lunch at the local restaurant with fresh watermelon juice.
Then Jorge was kind enough to take us shopping at a local plaza with souvenirs and a few groceries.
The driving was almost as fun as the sightseeing, as we not only got to see much more of the region from the car, we got to chat with Jorge and learn about the animals and their environments (volcanos, cloud forest, rainforest), the history and culture and language of Costa Rica, his work there and in Mexico, and what it's like for people who move to Costa Rica as expats (something we're mulling).
Jorge was always friendly, helpful, informative, thoughtful and funny. Can't recommend him enough as a guide. We had an amazing day, a lot of laughs, and learned a lot, and we will definitely do another tour with him if we can get back to CR. Pura vida!

The tours that my wife and I took with Mardigi were truly the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Our guide Jorge Eduardo was exceptionally well informed and gave us an experience I will look back on fondly for the rest of my life, it really was that good! The price is worth it!

We had an outstanding tour with Martin as our guide. He was very informative and answered all of our questions. Our boat driver Felix had a watchful eye and pointed out monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, and numerous types of birds. We are very thankful to both of them for educating us about Costa Rica and the wildlife there.

Are there toucans in Palo Verde National Park, or are they most likely to be in the rain forest? We're trying to decide which tour to book and would really like to see them. Thanks in advance.

Saw several along the way on our tour. They are the easiest to see with the untrained eye, so a good guide is important and the two different guides I had on Mardigi tours definitely had keen eyes, and very informed

As far as the Mardigi Tours in Costa Rica are concerned-are you saying not to use that service? If so, how did you find the information for the tours you wanted to take? Thank you-We will be staying at Villas Sol and have been told they are very over priced in planning day trips etc. Sandy

Looking at doing Hacienda Guachipelín Adventure with our 13 and 10 year old. Would you recommend that? Is it best to book with Mardigi Tours through your hotel or directly?

What are the prices for the hot spring and mud bath?
Sniper_J_31

The hot springs and mud bath aren’t what you may be expecting. The mud was heated on a gas stove and the water was pumped into a large pool after being heated. You’re not actually visiting a hot Spring or hog mud pool, but you’ll be paying for it as if you were.

We are 4 older women who would like the standard tour of Nicaragua if it fits in our budget. Could you please discuss standard cost or any ideas you might have for a better Nicaragua trip that we could consider?

We did this tour 4 years ago with Mardigi Tours, wife, 3 teenagers and myself. Awesome to see the old city and architecture and did a boat trip on Lake Nicaragua and saw the little private islands. Good trip with lots of downtime but then lots of walking around the city, Marvin knew everything about the city and we had a good time.
