CMS is incredible!
First to greet me at the service desk was Katherine. Such a nice and welcoming woman. She took my information and was prepared for my appointment. Next the clinic manager Aurora introduced herself and offered me water or if Id like to change the channel on the lobby tv. After only a few minutes Dr Cambronero introduced himself and invited me into his office.
It's difficult to find a doctor in Costa Rica who is willing to provide services to US Disabled Veterans enrolled in the VA's Foreign Medical Program, as well as provide specialty care billing services to FMP at no cost to me. He listened to my symptoms and my situation in dealing with the Veterans Association.
He took his time to coordinate tests with the one and only Pulmonary Doctor in the region at a very nice private hospital. CMS took care of everything from coordinating, paying for the evaluations and billing the VA on my behalf (This is a burden on Medical Facilities providing services to Veterans living outside of the US because it takes FMP 3-4 months to reimburse for the medical care. They are very strict on which services and medicines we are receiving. So many times, and understandably, the VA will not reimburse the doctors if there is anything out of the limitations of US Federal regulations). Once my results were submitted back to CMS, Dr Cambronero got me prescribed on the therapy and medications I so desperately needed.
I previously was traveling to a Pulmonary Dr in Panama, as well as being evaluated by a General Medical Dr in Panama... yet due to these doctors being contracted by the VA for Evaluation of a medical claim, they were not permitted to diagnose or prescribe me. So I brought their medical opinions, PFT results and chest x-ray to Dr Cambronero to review. He wasted no time in getting me back to a healthy way of life.
After suffering numerous Respiratory Failures, I am still a bit nervous to get running again on the track but I have gotten back to a healthy workout routine to maintain my way of life. Had it not been for Dr Cambronero taking his time to listen to my needs and looking into my test results, I would still be going through a fiasco of medical opinions from any doctor wanting "more tests... (more $$)".
During my first follow up appointment I showed great appreciation to Dr Cambronero for his ability to listen to my needs and symptoms. He was not trying to "prove he knows it all" or make my condition about "his experience as a doctor" in any way. He explained he has been servicing Disabled Veterans living in Costa Rica since 2005 and that he understands we have such a broad variety of situations that its impossible to pin point an exact diagnosis from one or two traditional tests. He explained the most efficient way to support veterans is to listen and research combinations of our symptoms in relation to the environments we have been exposed to.
I highly recommend CMS for anyone seeking medical care in Costa Rica... From Tourists looking for affordable out of pocket costs to Disabled Veterans and their families enrolled in FMP or CHAMP-VA.

Hello, My question is fit at this VA hospital, and/or, Clinica Biblica offers chiropractic care!? I'm a chiropractor in California and I'm a provider under the VA community care program, to take care of veterans at my office, although there are also chiropractors in the VA facilities as well. I'm looking into possibly living and working in Costa Rica, and I've heard that chiropractors may be allowed to get reimbursed by insurances in a year or two, and if the VA facility allows veterans to use there medical benefits in Costa Rica.!?
