Ok, so we had to walk the street just because. A few cute shops with a little history but it was pouring rain and flooded. Nothing spectacular- but the people were friendly. Wouldn't go out of my way for this. Some places were vacant and boarded up.

Creek Street is a neat historic street worth walking through if you take time to read the signs and learn what the buildings used to be. Full of tons of shops with some neat souvenirs, mostly the same tourist stuff you see in all the ports though with a few exceptions. Dolly’s House is there to tour but costs $10 for a tour now. Lots of salmon in the river below as well.

Stopped here on a cruise and wanted to check it out. I really enjoyed the walk and I really liked how they have signs and information about the buildings and who lived there and all that good stuff that appeals to history buffs. I went into most of the stores and of course shopping is subjective but I thought there was a good mix of stuff and prices ranged from "reasonable-high" to "what in the world are you thinking" levels. The jewelry place with the opal I thought was extremely reasonable and I now wish I had bought those whale tail earrings for my wife but by the time I changed my mind I didn't want to walk all the way back up there again. Unfortunately we got there at the end of the salmon run so there were a bunch of dead fish and a few still alive but already starting to decompose and wither away so it didn't make for a great view. I imagine it's an absolute madhouse up here when the salmon run is in full swing though, and for good reason, it was pretty even with the dead fish. Glad we made the time to stop by, it was interesting and I will surely be back if I am in Ketchikan again.

We did not have much time in Ketchikan from cruise. We were told to get to creek street first thing because it had a lot to offer. Frist the bad, most shops to not open until after 9 and 10 am. The good, the creek itself has so much wildlife to watch you don't mind shops being closed. Eagles, Salmon, and Seals keep you entertained.

Creek street was kind of cool, but not great. The one store offered samples of hans, sauces, etc. but did not have any of the sweet ones at all that they offered. We did not buy any because we wanted to taste them first. It was disappointing. Many things were high priced. It was ok but not great in my own personal opinion.

This old “red light district” is now home to little shops and gift stores. There are some interpretive displays and a trail past a waterfall up the creek. The buildings are suspended on stilts above the creek and you can watch salmon swimming upstream from the boardwalks.

Ketchikan was our first port on our Alaskan cruise. We enjoyed walking Creek street. Lot of history in the area. And enjoy watching the Salmon swim upstream too.

The shops were amazing. The creek had a seal swimming in it. Our favorite shop was Perfect Partners. Really cool items. I bought 2 hand painted bulbs.

Excellent area but very crowded with 5 cruise ships in port at the same time. The experience is still worth the crowded conditions, especially the views of the creek and the artisan shops that make your shopping experience truly "made in Alaska "

Would I be able to walk around early in the morning before shops are open or is the walking area closed off until a certain time?

Can anyone tell me how far Creek Street is from the Cruise Terminal? How long would it take to walk there? And can the street be seen in 1-2 hours. We want to take a look around after an excursion to the Rainforest Sanctuary, if feasible

Creek Street is about a 10 minute walk from the Cruise Ship Terminal. The street itself is not very long and you would definitely be able to explore it in 1 - 2 hours. To simply stroll along without entering the shops or museum (Dolly's House) would take about 15 minutes. We walked further to the Salmon Ladder and Married Man's Trail in a similar timeframe, after our tour to the Lumberjack show and Saxman Village.

Depends, if you like walking in all the shops it will take some time. If your just wanting to stroll and take it all in and maybe a shop or two it will take about an hour.
Make sure to check out Dollys House.

Does the walk along creek street have steps? My mother will be using a power scooter. We would like to see the salmon run.
Skrevet 18. august 2019
If my memory serves me you can use a scooter to get to the shops, parking is tricky in Ketchikan. We found on street parking not too far from Creek Street

Does anyone know what time the stores open in the morning on Creek Street? Our ship docks at 7am and we are trying to plan the most out of our time seeing we are only there from 7am-3pm
