Very very opulent area, clubhouse was pure class, service was wonderful, half way house was 5 star.
Course was in ‘perfect’ condition, sadly my golf was ‘not’.
It certainly is a ‘tick’ list course. However, some holes are very ‘bland’. I would say it’s not worth the £286.00 paid, but, as a group we really enjoyed our day out.
If you’re a golfer and near this course, play it……
Would we go back? No. Once is enough.
But, we keep going back to Fancourt Links ….

The golf course is very well maintained, the people and the management very kind and helpful! The price of over 320 € is high. There are neither bins nor any signs on any of the tee boxes indicating the hole number, distances nor any other information, hence the first time player might be challenged. There is a different leopard art sculpture on each hole. The service at the halfway house is very kind, their food options amongst others: croissants, scones, yoghurt, salad, various wraps and sandwiches like chicken-Mayo.
Only on the green of hole 13 one has a nice view on the crocodile river and the Kruger parc on the other riverside. We spotted hippos in the water and on land. Impalas, springboks and water bucks as well as monkeys are visible all over the golf course. There are beautiful views on many holes of the course which feature built water streams, trees and lake structures.
There is also a small 9 holes par-3-only course which costs over 50€ and has none of the views described above but equally well maintained.
The clubhouse looks like a colonial mansion with locker rooms put one back into the movies from after the 2nd world war and carpets in the bathrooms.
In 2018 this golf course was voted among the 100 best courses in the world.
Overall a one-time experience for whoever is prepared to pay the price.

While staying at the beautiful Buhala Lodge - 30 minutes’ drive - we played this well-known Gary Player course twice. It was a real treat and surprisingly enough, challenging as expected but not too difficult although the par 3’s (i.e. 5, 7 and 16) can be tricky. Loved the ‘so-called’ signature hole 18. Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Courteous and friendly staff and no caddies by the way. At the halfway house we had a good lunch. Somewhat surprised though that only the green of hole 13 lies along the Crocodile river and at this hole we spotted for the first time some wildlife (i.e. elephants) across the river in the Kruger park. After our round we had some drinks with a splendid view over holes 9 and 18. There is a nice price tag involved of course but can still highly recommend playing this sublime golf course.

What a treat to play at one of the most exclusive courses in the world. We stayed at Olivers, see other review, highly recommended, an hour drive away. Take your time, as it will take you another 15 minutes to pass through the gate and drive up toi the clubhouse. Wonderful staff, but it all comes down to the course. I would say, not the most difficult of courses, no caddies so you know, just you in a splendid setting. Typical Gary Player course, gentle, but challenging. Really good par 3’s and the most magnificent view at Kruger Park from the green of 13. Guartenteed animals to see.

We had a lovely round of golf on this beautiful course.
The standard of the golf course is high and the greens nice and fast.
We had really looked forward to playing this course and we were not dissapointed.
I would like very much to come back and play it again one day.
We felt very welcome and the facilities are a veryhigh standard.

This is a truly amazing golf course set next to the world famous Kruger National Park. This was one of 3 courses we played in the area and without doubt by far the best. The views are fantastic, the fairways are like a carpet and the greens are so well kept. There is a large price tag attached to a game here but it is well worth at least one visit. I cannot speak more highly of this course, it should be on everyone's bucket list!

We played this course as one of the five on our Rovos Rail Golf Safari trip. It was the last one of the trip and the best. We were the last ones to play i before it was closed in preparation for the Professional Golf tournament. Needless to say the course was in great condition. I loved the statues of the Leopards on each of the holes. If you are in South Africa and want to play golf you can’t do much better than this.

The greens are so well-kept and every hole is a delight for the eye and a challenge for your golf game. Play golf with elephants in view ... surprise small crocodile in a river... and a wildlife paradise around you. The clubhouse has old-school charm but obviously a state of the art kitchen. A surprise 9 hole par 3 course adds more excitement to the main 18 hole course. Every hole is moddeled after a signature hole of a legendary course around the world. Go for it!

Let's get the ugly out of the way first, when you go to the entrance, the semi-friendly gate keeper tells us we had to go sign in at the office first. I think the guy in the office is the champion holder for the unfriendliest employee award, thank God his attitude didn't set the tone for the rest of our experience at the golf course. This was a surprise golf game for my husband so he didn't know the strict dress code but that was easily sorted with the professional and friendlier staff in the golf shop. The golf course is pristine and the staff are courteous, I'm not a golfer so I tagged along and really enjoyed the scenic views and look forward to driving to see all 18 different sculptures of the leopard at each hole. We were there 15 July and it was like a pleasant hot summer's day so I don't want to imagine what the heat and humidity is like on the golf course in summer!!!

Deze golfbaan is bijzonder. Niet alleen is de baan uitdagend en uitstekend onderhouden de natuur om je heen zorgt ervoor dat je met plezier hier speelt. Met als hoogtepunt hole 13 waar je uitzicht hebt op het Kruger Park en de dieren die daar lopen (wij zagen buffels en nijlpaarden). En de service in het clubhuis is ook perfect. Wat zeker genoemd mag worden is de gratis lunch halverwege. Ruim van omvang en perfect van smaak. Vergeet geen witte sokken mee te nemen als je in een korte broek wilt spelen. Dat is namelijk verplicht.
