We had a blast at this winery in March 2014 (specified since option wasn't below)! The tasting was such a great experience and well worth the drive! Must do this again!

its not only the Reds that are delicious, meeting and then speaking with Ms. Ntsiki Biyela is the highlight of the visit. Gracious, smart, welcoming, Ntsiki is a gem. Her knowledge about wine is tremendous and the wines are fabulous.

We had time for one last winery visit before heading to the airport, and are so glad we chose Stellekaya! The tasting room is rustic, the staff is friendly, and the tasting had 7 different wines. We chose Stellekaya because it has the first woman winemaker in the region. When we told them that was our reason for coming, the winemaker came down and spoke with us for awhile.
We aren't wine experts, but love a good shiraz and the bold wines here were great. Love the label (home of the stars) and the italian style Hercules.
The entryway itself does not look that welcoming; it looks like a warehouse and we had to ring a bell for them to unlock the doorway. Don't be deterred!

Las week I had the unexpected luck to visit Stellekaya Winemakers, what a beautiful wines, tasting was an adventure. Right on the edge of Stellenbosch and what a nice people!

A very interesting winery, off the beaten track, and a range of award winning wines some of which have been chosen by SAA for service to premium class passengers. That is huge accolade for them since the competition is intense, as one would expect in a region that produces some of the world's best wines.
This is not one of the big commercial wineries with tour buses outside, it's a small and friendly place where visitors receive personal attention.
Our hostess in the tasting room was Siwe, who has an excellent knowledge of the wines and a lovely enthusiastic manner. Winemaker Ntsiki also joined us and was happy to stay and chat to visitors.
Superb reds, at under R100 a bottle, and they have a wine club offering discounts which makes these excellent wines even better value.

I've been visiting, and recommending a visit to Stellekaya, for quite a few months now.
Ntsiki Biyela, the brilliant, but, oh so modest, wine maker produces some of the best and most affordable wines in our region.
Stellekaya is situated in an old brandy distillery in Bosman's Crossing, near Stellenbosch Station. So, you might not have the views and scenery offered by the other wineries, but, when you're tasting the most heavenly wines, who needs a view?
I said affordable, most wines are under R 100.00 per bottle and range in age from 2008 to 2012.
Last night, at the launch dinner, of the new Aquarius range, I was yet again amazed by all the accolades that have been bestowed on Ntsiki.
Among'st the latest - Gold, at the Texas Wine Rodeo - South African Airways, selecting TWO of her superb Reds for service, International, FIRST Class.
Ntsiki and Stellekaya have been hidden for far too long. This is a must visit whilst in Stellenbosch.
If you Google the names you'll find some very interesting comments and information. Crown Princess Mary Of Denmark is but, one, of the celebrities who've visited Ntsiki.
When you visit, Siwe, will more than likely be your host in the tasting room, but, chances are good that Ntsiki will pop down to say "Hello!"
Dave and Jane Lello, the owners have a passion for wine, especially reds, and it would be remiss of me not to thank them for all their contributions toward the development of Ntsiki and Stellekaya's SUPERB wines.
