The views are beautiful, and the lava overlooks are cool. Loved watching the waves crash by the cliffs. This was a great pit stop for my family after a long car drive. I would recommend wearing good hiking shoes. Watch your step, there are some big routes. There are several lookout points so you can make the hike as short or as long as you'd like. We did not make it all the way to the lava fields, but I am sure they would be amazing to see.

The road in is definitely OK for 2wd car in dry conditions. Car park area at the end. The track itself is very uneven, so not recommended if you are unsteady on your feet or bad knees. But otherwise great walk with the rocks st the end having impressive sprays of water. Blow hole saturated me which was great on a hot day. No entry fee and open Sundays.

If you like nature walks terminating with giant booming waves crashing into lava cliffs and arches, then this is for you! We could hear and almost feel the waves as we approached, they were so powerful. We were unprepared for just how stunning the views would be though! It was scary and we maybe strayed from the main path because we found a path that was literally on a cliff’s edge (definitely don’t bring small children here!). We stayed away from the slippery cliff edges though, and all was well. We all got sprayed with sea water and buffeted by the wind at the lava fields at the end, but it was well worth it!

Thanks to reading some of the earlier reviews we drove to the closest point to the walk. We were met by a vibrant Kingfisher in the tree branch above us. After a short walk theough beautiful Pandamus Plams and Birds nest ferns we came out to the most stunning view of the natural arch bridges and the ocean waves rolling in and smashing up against them!
A little unnerving having no safety rails or fences at all - and would be wary taking small children.
Definitely wear proper walking shoes not thongs, jandles, or flip flops!
The lava rock patterns were fantastic as well… amazing to see and imagine what it must have been like!
Well worth the visit!

The walk is underrated. We saw only 2 other couples on our walk. Our guide had never done it and he was born and breed Samoan.
You need to wear proper shoes and be aware it’s slippery and has decomposing pandamus palms for a large part of this walk.

Unfortunate - for us - timing. Not a lot to do on the southern coast of Upolu, so this Cliff Walk was a must, but on arriving, found it was closed to public for four days, to allow filming of the final night of Australian Survivor - Samoa reality TV show

The views are something to reckon with. Equally reckoning are the cooled lava track which are difficult to walk on. Do not do a solitary walk here, always with at least another person. Be careful of your footing

I'm so glad we did this walk. The driveway was easy in our rental vehicle (there had been no rain for ages). It is very narrow and we were worried that we'd meet a car travelling the other way - someone would need to do a lot of backing up. The 3.5 km drive was definitely worth it. The walk was about a kilometre each way and took over half an hour with photo stops. The whole walk had stunning views over the ocean, with the waves crashing against the cliffs. In places, the path does go along the cliff edge, with no rails, so I'd be nervous taking young children and would definitely be holding their hands. I recommend good footwear (we had sneakers on, with good grip). The lava fields at the end are awesome - a fabulous geographical feature that we impressive. In places, you could get really wet from the sea spray without having to go close to the edge. We loved it. It would definitely recommend this walk.

Road in was VG- grass in middle and well packed down metal on each side- you need to be a confident driver to be able to back up if necessary- we only met one other vehicle and they backed up. There are some passing areas so keep that in mind as you drive past them. Not rutty and rough as reported. Small parking area at end. Insects didn't get us on the way in but many came into the car when we got back to the car parking area, so spray insect repellent on before you set off. Wear sneakers/trainers as underfoot can be a bit rough or slippery on fallen long dried leaves. Views are amazing with several sea arches and one open rock where the water crashes back through plus the pandana forest. At the end is a large lava rock which you could step out on. We met a Samoan from Apia building a communication tower at the end of the road we had driven down who had walked out where we were in his lunch break and he was so impressed himself. Something for every Samoan to be proud of. It was one of our top attractions. Highly recommend a visit.

On arrival and after reading the information board, commenced the walk towards the sound of crashing waves. A gentle walk along a path surrounded by trees and jungle growth to a magnificent view of waves rolling into the cliff. Once up to the lava cliff, it was so peaceful and you could sit there for hours just watching the day go by.
A must see. The walk was not bad at all, must wear good footwear, thongs a big NO.
