This a beautiful park, at least the piece of it that we saw. We went strictly to cool off in the Colorado River. It was a very hot day. You can go in for $10 a car load which gives you access to the beach/river swimming area. Lots of boat action to watch up and down the river as well. A great stop for a family, with picnic tables and camping options.

We stayed here 2 nights and a sulfur/sewer smell permeated our campsite. We found out from a host later on that the waste pumping station was being worked on. This was located 3 campsites away from us next to site 17. This should have been told to us.

MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR A FULL SITE IF YOU WANT STAY WITH YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS IN THEIR SITE. MY FRIENDS INVITED ME TO JOIN THEM AND BECAUSE THEY HAD 2 CARS REGISTERED TO THEIR SITE (BUT ONE HAD TRAILER ATTACHED AND IN TRAILER PARKING, NOT ON THEIR SITE) I NEEDED TO PARK ELSEWHERE. THE ONLY OPTION IS TO BOOK A SITE AT $35-40/NIGHT. MY SON'S FRIEND CAME TO JOIN US AND ALTHOUGH HE COULD PARK ON MY SITE HE HAD TO PAY AN ADDITONAL $15/NIGHT BECAUSE OUR CAR REGISTRATIONS DO NOT HAVE SAME ADDRESS...RIDICULOUS. THATS A TOTAL OF $50/NIGHT JUST FOR PARKING 2 CARS!!! THIS WAS INSTITUTED DURING COVID AND THEY ARE HOLDING ONTO IT BECAUSE THEY CAN. THERE IS NO OTHER PARKING ANYWHERE NEARBY. OTHER THAN THAT...GREAT PARK. LOVE THE LOCATION. SOME SHADY SPOTS.

Nice setting on the Colorado River. Nice walking trails right outside of the campsite buy you need to be ok with hilly terrain. Desert landscape. Bathrooms did not seem heated and it was cool-cold temps. Sink water didn't get warm, not sure about shower temp. Shower stall door was lacking in providing for full privacy while showering.

It was very quiet, a great class of campers. Loved the dog park and the fact they could walk and get in the water. Lots of shaded trees, also a small store. Plus a nice cactus garden. One of the nicest, cleanest campgrounds we've visited.

Stayed one night in rv nice spot. Late check in went smoothly. Promised free Wi-Fi did not work but we checked in late so there was no one to ask as we left early the next morning anyway. No Verizon signal in park itself.

Having never spent any time in Parker or on the Colorado River south of Havasu, we thought we would try Buckskin Mountain State Park January 3-7. Weather was warm. Park was clean and well maintained. Dog park was clean. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There are numerous hiking trails around the park as well as a mile of river frontage for that casual stroll. Leaving the cold temps of northern AZ was a treat to explore the river area. Unless you are on the river on a jet ski, several days of sightseeing will max all the 'things to see and do'.
As would be expected, this AZ State Park is worth a visit....

Another beautiful AZ state park with wide RV spots right on the Colorado River. Very quiet and peaceful at this time of the year. Most sites have huge shade trees and some with grassy areas. There’s an interesting hiking area that requires you to climb a rocky hill and cross Hwy 95 on a bridge. Beautiful views from up there but not an easy hike with the loose rocks. Hiking sticks would be useful on this hike. Good hiking shoes are a must.
The restrooms were clean and the park staff was helpful and friendly.

The lady working at the booth walked out to our truck without a mask which shouldn’t be allowed during COVID-19. Beautiful park
Lots of nice beaches for pets and people. We were in site 17 which smelled awful because of the location next to the water treatment area. Spent most of the evening in the RV. Also probably the smallest site in the park. Our fire pit was too close for comfort to our neighbors so we skipped having a fire.
If you come here stay far from site 17!

Where is the best place to rent fishing equipment and get a license in the area of Lake Havasu or Patker?
Skrevet 8. mars 2021
Is the store still open? We were there last October and we were told that the store and restaurant would be closing.
Skrevet 22. april 2018
We were told in March they would open in April, but have not been there since March.

Yes, you can tether your boat at anchor in the water overnight. As the other person stated, you will find that the water level rises and drops each day as water is released from the dams. If you tie your boat off too close to shore, you will find it high and dry the next morning. The other cautionary note is that you cannot always maintain visual contact with your boat/ watercraft from most of the campsites, unless you rent one of the Cabanas. I would guesstimate that 75% of the boaters put their boats back on the trailers for the night and wait for the water levels to rise before venturing back to the river. There are also several areas that become very shallow and hazardous to navigation when the water level is down.

Hi, what is the longest someone can stay in an RV at your camp site? and is there a state requirements on the length of stay in AZ? thank you
Skrevet 12. august 2017
According to Buckskin Mountain State park's brochure the maximum length of stay in a specific site is 14 days. This limit may be extended via permission from the Park manager. There is nothing that would prohibit a camper from spending 14 days in one site, and then moving to another for an additional 14 days. If you are asking about Arizona's time limits for camping on the LTV BLM land near Quartzsite and Yuma, the restriction is up to 3 months with the proper permits. Everywhere else in AZ is limited to 14 days.

I used to take my family and stay at Buckskin when my kids were very young. Back then, there wasn't a reservation system in place. It was first come- first served. Typically, we would drive to the entrance and talk to the ranger to see what spaces were available. Then, we would proceed to drive around the loops until we found a suitable spot. Once we decided- we would leave a camp chair - or some other item to denote that this spot was occupied. We would return to the ranger station and fill out our registration forms. Finding a spot was never an issue. Now- it seems that the State has imposed a " Pre-registration" Reservation service for All Arizona Parks, including Buckskin. My question is- would it be ill-advised to show up at Buckskin without a Reservation in hand? Would we be turned away- even if there were open spaces available? I fear that Arizona is becoming more like California where camping reservations must be made 6 to 12 months in advance.

I have used the online registration many times. It is easy and fast. If you are tenting it get Cabana A it has the best shade.

We've never been to Havasu in April before and really want to try a lake getaway this year now that the kids are older (12,11, 8). I've been researching all the State Parks around Havasu and can't decide which one would be best. Do any of them allow personal campfires or have firepits? Which one is best for swimming for the kids? We will be camping in a tent.
