What a simply beautiful find in an unusual spot!
Home to a wonderful husband and wife team and the cutest bunch of girls! Enjoyed the goats and believe it or not the chickens are even friendly too!
All of that matched only by lovey gardens, fresh veggies, eggs, and TSF Botanicals. And, if that isn't enough the sea salt caramels made with goats milk are absolutely out of this world DELICIOUS. You can also enjoy Picket Fence Pastries, they are DELICIOUS as well!!
My family and girlfriends from age 2 to age 83 Enjoyed every minute of our visit, so much fun!!! We'll make it a regular!

Love going to the Simple Farm. Not only are the owners a very nice couple to chat with but they also sell great products. My favorites are the caramels. I can't keep enough of them at our house :)
In the springs their goats have babies and they are the cutest animals ever! Make sure to stop by when you are in town.

I have visited the farm numerous times and all I can say is WOW. Every time I show up, the farm beds are gorgeously overflowing with vegetables, greens, flowers and herbs. Not only is there top quality produce for sale, but Lylah and Michael bring in some of the best vendors to the Thursday market. I always look forward to coffee and treats, good conversation and fresh herbs or veggies to take home with me. The atmosphere is relaxing. And of course, in the springtime, there are the cutest baby goats to visit.

Lylah all I can say is you are one amazing person and so is your farm. I visited twice in January and took an instant like to you, what you are doing with your small farm, how you care for the people who assist you on the farm, your drive to provide best produce and oh those carmels, your commitment to organic, and so excited about your new line of skin care. I love my hydrosal facial spray and will be ordering more soon. I want readers to know how you cared about a friend I brought with me whose daughter in law was facing radiation treatments and in your new skin care line you were coming out with a product to help with radiation burn. The speed in which you got product to her in Atlanta was not only impressive but showed your heart. I also want to comment on your early morning pastries and delights were so delicious and I'm excited to read more organic delights will be added on the third Thursday of the month. I look forward to my return visit to AZ to visit your farm, thanks for sharing what you do. I signed up for your farm email updates and am enjoying your recipes. Thanks again.

What a great idea!! My family and I visited the farm and really enjoyed it. We definitely will come back and volunteer some time for fresh vegetables and the eggs were so fresh and delicious.

My husband and I had an incredible opportunity to enjoy an evening dinner on the farm. Michael and Lylah greeted their guests and gave a tour of the farm. We sat around a long dinner table and were served by the incredible staff at the Scottsdale Resort an incredible meal. Chef Rick is incredible! The company was delightful and the ambiance of the farm was a lovely change of scene from the perfectly manicured image that Scottsdale produces. It reminded me of being in a little part of France, away from it all.
I highly recommend a visit to the farm and if you can get a booking for the farm dinners, you are in for a treat!

Love the Simple Farm! What a fun concept growing in the middle of suburbia Scottsdale. The owners are a kind and gracious couple who mingle amongst their guests welcoming you to their farm. The French market is like an Anthropology meets farmers market. Beautiful! Great place to buy organic greens for your dinner. Baby goats, coffee, chickens, yummy pastries, gift caramels (the best AZ souvenirs!!! We always bring some back for teachers, friends, etc!). A small oasis in the dessert and a fun place to visit and support or check off your Phoenix bucket list. This ain't your grandmas farm.

Simply put, The Simple Farm changed the way I feed my family. Since years of San Francisco and Berkeley living, I was always intrigued to eat seasonally but raised in a suburban dessert amidst grocery store chains, I didn't know where to start. I can't even remember how long I've been part of the Simple Farm CSA now, but for years picking up my produce at the Simple Farm has been part of my weekly routine. I am now able to cook a wide range of vegetables including things I never before would have attempted or purchased at grocery store: collard greens? Swiss Chard? kohlrabi!!! Oh how I love Kohlrabi! Turnips! I don't think I have yet met a turnip that I don't like. The volunteers staffing the farm when I arrive each Thursday wish me a good day when I leave and I know that they genuinely mean it. Lylah is a truly special person who has helped me grow as a mom, wife, friend, neighbor, community member and now, fellow farmer. I recently did what I thought I would never do: planted my own home and garden. This is in a large thanks to Lylah and her team who helped convince me that I could do it. There are several other things I love about the Simple Farm. Their goats milk caramels are a real treat and make a terrific hostess gift (if you can bear to give them away). They also have relationships with other farms and I'll often find delicious honey or cheese for purchase, extra to my CSA. The picture I am including in this review was from a Facebook post I did a few Decembers ago... I was picking up my weekly produce and Lylah wished me a Happy Hanukkah. She offered me these flowers if I would bring her a latke, which of course I did!

I have visited the Simple farm three times in the past four months. Once with my daughter and daughter in law, once by myself and the third time was a very special visit with my daughter. We are from Toronto and my adult daughter is an animal lover. When we learned there would be babies sometime in March, we checked our schedule and planned a visit to Scottsdale.
The goats are adorable and treated as part of Lylah's family.
The farm is small and requires a great deal of hard work and managing by Lylah and her husband. They make and sell the most delicious caramels which are worth the trip.
Lylah and Her husband also have a community table evening a few times a year, which I hope to participate in sometime when I am visiting Scottsdale.
Thank you Lylah, for welcoming us despite your busy schedule. We will be back!

Let's just tell it like it is. If you are not a privileged member of their very small Community-supported Agriculture (CSA) you may be out of luck during their extremely regimented and limited "farm hours" on Thursday mornings. The two times I visited I only had a choice of a few items of produce while I longingly looked into the CSA pick-up room which is overflowing with bounty. But forget about joining the CSA. I was told I could not even be put on a waiting list! The owner, Lylah, is really arrogant and rude. You can get the vibe from her blog. She berated me on line because I dared to question her policies. The first time I went during "farm hours" I was actually enthusiastic, purchasing many non-produce products, only to do some research and find that these items are grossly overpriced! Case in point, I paid $22 for a small container of bone broth, and I can get the same broth (or better) from my local whole animal butcher for $5! I tried one more time and just gave up. Not worth the long drive to find that there's no produce or very little. And . . . both times my husband left with an itchy rash on his lower arms where he came into contact with something at the farm. You'll notice that the last Trip Advisor review is two years old, so you get the picture.

As I responded to you yesterday, I am inviting you to have coffee with me to get understanding of all the concerns you have. We just hate it that you left unsatisfied. It is so important to us that every customer feels satisfied and happy with their purchases and it's also important that you understand clearly how our farm members (csa) works.
The Simple Farm is a working farm and it's our home as well. Because so many in the community are interested in farms and goats and the produce we grow, we open our home/farm up to the public on a very limited slot of time. Thus the 2.5 hours one morning a week. We are proud of what The Simple Farm has become, including recent press with Washington Post.
And, you say you had an online berating from me - well, that's just something I wouldn't do. Ever. I don't recall your email address or your question. Perhaps you'd be so kind to resend it to me so I can review the dialogue.
It's important to us that our farm guests and those making inquiries of how to be involved - members also - get that understanding. Never have I been accused of treating someone harshly.
I am sad your husband ended up with a rash on the lower half of both arms. That puzzles me. No one has ever said that - but then again, no farm guests put their hands in our raised beds. Perhaps he ate something before he came.
