Honestly it’s nothing amazing if you have done some other hikes. If you are limited on time I would NOT go here. If you have done hikes like Broken Arrow this is really bland and uneventful. There are much better places to visit and see.

Me and my friend walked three short trails and saw so much beauty from the rock formations to the river we walked along. The rangers helped identify a lizard I took a photo of and thought me how to recognize it. I appreciated that fully🫶🏼 we also loved all the information that was posted on the trails!

Loved everything about Sedonna. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I would highly recommend Red rock state park.

Great hiking area for any fitness level. There are several interlocking trails that very in length. We hike the outer loop of all the trails which was about 5.5-miles. We hiked Bunkhouse to Kiva to Eagles Nest to Coyote Ridge to Apache Fire to Javalina to East Gate and back to Bunkhouse. As you can imagine the trail segments are short and you can access the trails for shorter hikes. The only strenuous part of the loop was going up the back side of Eagles Nest but there are plenty of switchbacks with 300-ft of elevation gain. Great vistas of Cathedral Rock, Three Sisters, and many more rock formations. We saw several mule deer on the hike, stopped and ate lunch enjoying the views of the mountain range, and met only a handful of other hikers on the trail. Gates open at 0800.

If you can find it, GPS takes you to a dirt road that ends with a sign "GPS is wrong-private road". Had to get directions and get a paper map. The park does not honor a "red rocks" pass so you have to pay $7 per person. The trails can be confusing as the names change. The scenery is OK but nothing to go back to.

With only a day to spend in Sedona, we were confused over all the hiking options. We decided to start at Red Rock State Park. Great decision! There were numerous, well-marked hiking trails, many with spectacular views. We also happened upon a guided nature walk which was instructive. Plus there was a visitors center with lots of information. And it was not crowded. Worth the $7 per person entrance fee.

The guide tour was interesting and informative. The hike was easy as it was on paved paths and crushed stone by the river. The views while walking were lovely. The quiet and nature experience was wonderful.

The trails are that difficult and long. If you want more hiking, you can do them all. The entrance to the park is 7 p.p. And the visit center is more like a education center which is okay.

We heard about Sedona during our road trip ant we added it. What a wonderful place to go...the scenic road , the color of the mountains, the city of Sedona. A place we hoped to return with the rest of the family. A must if you have the chance to go...

The park has nothing special to offer. It cost $7 per person to enter.. the day we visited, a big tree fell on bridge, there is no red rock to see

Different parks have a range of do's and don'ts. The best thing to do is check the brochure for that particular park. If you go to the Visitor Center they can help you locate which parks are best for dogs.

I want to fly into Phoenix and do a few days of hiking/exploring with my professional camera...wondering if Red Rock State Park is typically full of snow in mid-March or what to expect weather wise? Do people go to the park in March!? :)

We were there the 2nd week in January and there wasn’t any snow. March should be fine...
Should I Uber it for the Strip to Red Rocks to go hiking or would it be advisable to rent a car for the day instead? Anyone know the cost of an Uber/Lyft? Thanks!

I want to go in to see Cathedral Rock and it's reflection in Oak Creek. Is it inside the park or along a hwy. Directions please. Also, is the best time at sunrise or sunset? If the park is only open from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, how do I get a pass (I don't see a way to get one from the website for Red Rock State Park).

Apparently Crescent Moon is the place to do what you want. They illegally fail to honor the right to enter federal recreation areas for free with relevant passes. So we didn't enter, complained to the USFS, and so don't know the details of where to go.

the hike is quite strenuous if you've never done a hike before and the elevation has a lot of switchbacks going up to the final place for the hike and to watch the full moon

I just obtained my senior lifetime pass to the national parks in July while visiting Arizona. My 19 year old son and I were charged $7.00 each to enter Red Rock State park to hike. The attendant at the entrance gate told us that national park passes are not accepted here because the federal government does not provide any funding to the state parks.

You can spend an hour or all day, we did the bunkhouse & javelina trails they were pretty easy. They zig zag down a ravine then back up with a few benches along the way. The views are amazing we even saw mule deer along the way. It was one of the best hikes we did in Sedona loved it there!!!!

Fui em Outubro e o tempo estava agradável, um pouco frio, céu azul. Mas não sei se teria um periodo melhor.
