This is a very nice place to stop in while in Brinkley. It is right next to Low's Bridal which is in a 3 story 1900 era hotel. There is a lot of history from Brinkley as well as memorabilia. If Bill is there, you can ask just about any question about the history of the area, and he will know!

This is a place for history and train lovers. The museum itself was the actual depot station. There is also some Louisiana Purchase history and artifacts from a local man who collected centennial celebration memorabilia. There is a beautiful original survey map from the Louisiana Purchase on display as well. The site manager was kind and extremely knowledgeable.

The museum has an area where information on the Louisiana Purchaser Marker is on display. It is a small part of the museum, but has some good exhibits. There is a lot of history on Brinkley and the surrounding area in the remainder of the museum. Some very interesting information and very nice exhibits fill the old train depot. It is worth your time to visit the museum.👍

It was an enjoyable stop. We were passing through and stopped in on our way. The old caboose was fun to walk through and check out. Two trains came through while we were visiting. Admission- Donation was $2 adults $1 children.

I took my grandson to visit the museum this afternoon and we really enjoyed it. The gentleman at the museum was very informative and nice. It is a wonderful place to be reminded of the local history. It would be a nice stop if you are passing through Brinkley.

This week we traveled on US-Highway 70 from Memphis TN to Little Rock AR. We had time enough and so we didn‘t take Interstate 40. It was a sadly impression, when we saw old buses, trucks and cars, covered with plants on the side of the road.. What were these vehicles for? Perhaps they served the harvest workers who helped the farmers as a room to live in. We also found very majestic houses, old, but wonderful restaurated, in great parks. Lovely to stay there !
In a small town named Brinkley, we were crossing a railroad when we saw a light far away on the railway track. There was a place to park our car. So we stopped, to take some photos of the train that was obviously coming nearer.
While we were waiting for the train a man, his name was Bill, talked with us about the trains, the town and his life in the „Delta„ the region between the Mississippi, the Cumberland River and all the other rivers. When all trains were gone (there were three in some minutes) we learned that this town was a crossing of four train lines in earlier times. Now there are only two of them left. Bill invited us to have a look in the Brinkley Depot Museum only twenty steps away. We also met his colleague „Didi“, managing the Museum. And it is a wonderful museum with these two wonderful guides. We saw an original old wooden station house and all the things inside were interesting to see.
The main building of the museum was full of great things, too. You can see that all the beautyful things are collected with love and understanding.
But the time ran away and we had to continue our journey. We were very pleased to discover this lovely small museum in Brinkley!
