We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, with stunning views of the beach, and Firth of Forth. They provided gluten free bread, and staff were friendly and helpful.

This club now caters only to existing members who have been there for many many years and now limits new memberships to fill the course with tourists. they hire Marshalls to speed play up so they can fill the tees up too.
Also you will be greeted with a stuffy clubhouse where your not allowed to go certain places.
But if you want a place full of local Scottish golfers and a Scottish atmosphere don't play here!! its stuffy and a closed shop and favours tourists to locals no matter how much money locals have.
run by dinosaurs and people who have sold out their own town as North Berwick is like a giant airbnb now and the golf course is just a American tourist one now. go for a nice day to the beach and enjoy scenery but avoid the golf course. over rated course too it only benefits due to scenery and tourism in the area and heavy marketing to American audiences. avoid and go play Dunbar instead people youl get real locals there.

Well if Max Homa had this on his bucket list, you should add it too. We played on a typical links day. Wind. Rain. Hit some from the beach too, which is in play. Course is in fantastic shape. Grab a bite too.

We had a great time on this beautiful course. We did get to experience some rainy day golf. But there is drying gear in the locker rooms and a great pub to relax at while our rain gear dried out a bit.

What a fun, scenic, and quirky golf course. You know you’re on an older, classic course when tee boxes and greens are close together and you have a bunch of blind shots. The front nine is incredibly beautiful and the opening hole is breathtaking. The quirkiness shows up on the back nine with blind holes, lack of directional signs, and a rock wall standing between you and the green on one hole! A lot of fun but consider taking a caddie the first time you play it. I wish we did just that. Great clubhouse and bar to enjoy a post round pint. And a shoutout to the staff from the pro shop to the starter to the bar host... all very welcoming and friendly!

We had planned a bucket list golf trip to Scotland, and while looking over the long list of courses we wanted to play, we found we just didn't have enough time (or financial wherewithal) to play them all, so we had to make some compromises.
One course we wanted to ensure we played was the West Links at North Berwick. A lot of history on this course and having never played in Scotland prior to this, a challenging introduction to links golf.
After a warm welcome in the pro shop, we hit the practice green while we waited for our game to be up on the first tee. A wonderful introduction by the starter of the course and it's history followed by the introduction of our caddie for the game, Alan.
I had never played with a caddie prior to this trip, so having Alan along to explain a bit of history of the course, his experience playing in Scotland, and a bit of a tip now and again on my inconsistent swing was truly eye opening. But Alan helped everyone in our group, pointing out aim points of the tee and into the greens, lines for putts, all with great humour and grace.
The course was in great shape for early march, the greens ran true, the wind was blowing, and it made for a sharp contrast to what we consider to be golf back home in Pennsylvania.
I played well, which surprised me as my normal ball flight is rather high up in the air, but managed to survive the back nine with the wind at a steady 20 mph and gusts to 30 into our face. Adding 2-3 clubs to every shot was a bit daunting. The course has its quirks, but to me, they added character and only enhanced the experience and did not detract. Some may only be happy with the perfect fairway grass, the true rolling greens that are easy to read, or not having blind shots into quirky greens, but to me, this course would make a person a better golfer, not worse.
Overall, a great time, beautiful setting, fantastic caddie, and I would not hesitate to do it again at any opportunity. To me, score was irrelevant in my round, I enjoyed the challenge the course presented.

Hi, the golf course itself is fun and scenic but over rated dramatically eden st Andrews, Dunbar, Kilspindie and so on much better. The problems also start as old members limit number and fill the course with 4 ball after 4 ball of tourists and don't allow new locals into the club so they have a very stuffy old membership that is odd and use the course as a cash cow. The greens are never good ok but never great, course itself is worth a play below £100 but prices odd now too as marketing it quite well.
Also they have rangers that try and speed people up a lot so they can fill tee times so beware of a not so relaxed game of golf as they are really bad in summer anything over 3.45 hours they will be pushing you.
the clubhouse your made to not feel welcome also its one those stuffy clubs and its not Scottish as a true Scottish course has locals this is mainly a Disney type course for tourism no local charm.
go play Dunbar or Kilspindie for local charm and avoid this hell hole.

Teeing off from the first was truly amazing! Then the next few holes, whatever you do don’t slice! You just may end up in someone’s lunch hamper on the beach!
All in all a challenge, but well worth the journey up. Also keep it straight down the last, as there’s a few cars not too far off the fairway!

golf takes about 4.5 hours on one of the greatest courses that you could play.
course is right in town so can walk the beautiful town.
the beach and golf course are public land so everyone walks them in any waether

The website for the hotel suggests that the rooftop terrace is only open June to September, there are reviews that suggest that the terrace is open in October. When is the rooftop terrace open?
