So pleased The Mrs found out about this. Stunning beach and we had it all to ourselves during our Easter break. Access from Auldhame.

Dangerous harbour! My dog - an excitable Springer, skidded and plunged into this harbour yesterday. Due to the high walls, it was impossible for him to get out, so I had to jump in after him as he was panicking and tiring. Thankfully managed to guide him round to the steps where my husband managed to help us out. Water can be 6m deep at high tide and it’s very cold. Traumatic experience, be careful, we feel very lucky.

Superb beach, with excellent views of Bass Rock & Tantallon Castle. Three pound coins required to gain access & the road down to the beach isn't the best, but just a short walk from the parking area through to the beach, which has everything - lots of clean sand, rock pools, a tiny disused? harbour. Well worth a visit!

The beach is not sandy it also has the smallest harbour I have ever seen in a very rocky area. Furthermore, dolphins could be seen and there were great vies of the Bass Rock and the ruin of Tantallon Castle

Stunningly beautiful beach... Back end of a lovely day wended our way here and even though we lost the sun it was a magical place. Wandered to the NW end of the beach where amongst the rocks you come across what is reputedly the smallest stone harbour in the country, carved by monks. Clambered the rocks and then sat and watched the birds from Bass Rock. Incredible views of Tantallon Castle too.
Journey down by car is a bit of a trek, tight single lane road, not the best quality! £3 parking fee - toll bar as you enter, well worth the price.

Been twice during short holiday based at North Berwick. One on a perfect sunny day and one with less ideal weather. Both were great- swimming and sandcastles for one and rockpooling and exploring the harbour for the other. Amazing place.

This beach is absolutely stunning, very clean & well looked after. Water was crystal clear. £3 to enter. Road is quite narrow round entrance & exit. No food places round about so take food & water with you. Toilets were there but closed guessing due to covid19. There was a few places to park. We didn’t have issue finding a space & we arrived in afternoon. I really enjoyed my day here ( so did my dog 😊) & would high recommend.

Absolute brilliant beach, seapool with crystal clear water, long stretch of clean yellow sand. Be of nicest town beaches I have been to in the UK or anywhere for that matter.

Well worth the £3 car entry fee to get to this beach. Stunning views, gorgeously sunny and plenty of flat rocks that look like benches to sit on in a socially distance way.

Hi, I'm hoping to scatter my fathers ashes. Is the beach private or owned by the government/Queen?

The Crown Estates Scotland don't seem to own the shoreline at Seacliff according to a map on their website. The fact that someone charges for road access to the beach (£3) probably points to the land being privately owned and mention is made online of the Dale family having interests locally.
If the ceremony to scatter your father's ashes was a simple one and at a quiet time I don't think personally there would be any issues.
