This is well worth doing whilst on holiday then views are amazing, breath taking and almost like being abroad.
Bike hire was easy and had a buggy connected to the bike which the kids loved.
Was a bit of a struggle so bring a drink as there is no where to stop on the way.
And also watch for dogs as they are off the leads but all very friendly!

Walked from Padstow with the dog and wow it was great.. no cars, peace and quiet and 30,000 steps plus!!! A well deserved pasty made it worth while and the calories were burnt for sure!!

A great day out activity in Cornwall on a sunny winters day! We hired bikes from Bridge Bike Hire in Wadebridge and cycled along this flat well maintained path to Padstowe for a pasty for lunch and return. When you get to Padstowe park your bikes at the start of the village, as there is no bike parking in the centre of the village. This is a pleasant 45min 10 km ride each way which.

A lovely walk along the trail from Padstow. We didn’t explore that far, just up to the bridge over the creek and then we cut inland to St Issey. If we’d had more time I would have liked to have gone further along, although there’s no obvious destination until you get to Wadebridge which is ten miles there and back, so it depends how much time and energy you have.

Parcours trés sympa à faire à vélo pour découvrir les paysage entre Pastor et Wadebridge.

Great route with easy gradients all the way. We took an easy ride between Padstow to Wadebridge and back and enjoyed the fact that there was no traffic. Small cafe half way. Lots of benches along the way to stop for a picnic. We also found a bird watching hide from which you get great views of the river. If you haven't got bikes with you they can be hired either end of the route we took.

We went from Wadebridge (from the Camel Cycle Hire Centre) to Padstow, and back again. It was a pleasant ride, some great views, and the trail is traffic free which is ideal for young children. We didn't get time to complete the entire Camel Trail as we parked the bikes up in Padstow and spent some time around Padstow before heading back to Wadebridge.

Just the perfect distance to get the kids to ride lots of benches and scenery to distract you along the way, flat easy terrain to Padstow which is a beautiful way to park your bike explore the shop's and grab an ice cream by the harbour I think going back to wadebridge is down hill slightly it definitely felt quicker 🙂

Superb rail trail along a great variety of scenery. We started at Wadebridge as that offers the easiest parking and selection of hire bikes. The travelled to Padstow, returned to Bodmin and then back. At Bodmin you can do a further extension.

We hired our bikes from Padstow Cycle Hire who were excellent and spent a good amount of time getting her set up on a bike as she's quite picky.
Highly recommend the Tea Room just before Bodmin as a pit stop and possible turning point. It is excellent and worth a visit.

Hi there, we're thinking to take our Brompton bikes to ride on camel trail. As its quite gravel ground from pics, has anyone used brompton bikes on these ground, just wondering if the tyres be ok for it?

if you only wanted to do one way from Padstow to the end. any idea how to get cycles back and ourselves?

Not aware that any of the bike hire companies do a "one way" special, and there is no easy way to get yourselves back to Padstow - but it doesn't take that long to do the complete trail (I'm guessing 90 minutes at a gentle pace) to Bodmin. The ride to Wendforbridge is more challenging (Uphill on the way there) and it took me around an hour from Wadebridge

There is a hire company in Padstow and one in Wadebridge I’ve only used the Padstow one.they do cater for young children with little trailers on some of the cycles.

Depending on time of year and your level of fitness but I would allow 2 hours to be on the safe side.
