Probably the best Safari experience in the Western Cape. I recommend doing the tour on Horse back, it was fun. Great for groups especially like friends and family. The horses are funny and well trained lol

Came here in 2020 and gave it an excellent score. This time we ranked it the bottom of the 6 game drives and the national park we have been on this holiday. The vehicle is too big and uncomfortable, and seemed to encourage people to not focus on animal watching. Guide wasn’t particularly good and for some reason he rarely got close to animals for photo opportunities. Partly due to customer questions he seemed obsessed by how much animals cost both in terms of selling and replacing them. Not what you want to hear on a game drive.

This great private game reserve has everything a keen game viewer needs wants to see. The experienced field guides ensure a memorable experience showing you some of the big five game and a closer look at the local flora. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing and safe one-day Safari experience at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve (Mossel Bay, South Africa).
Great sightings! Lion/Lioness, Cheetahs, Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes and many more!
The staff were exceptionally friendly!
Very impressed with our Game Reserve Guide/4x4 Driver "Burger" who was extremely knowledgeable with animal behavior and the terrain.
Hope to be back someday during Winter!

A very nice afternoon in a well maintained private game reserve. Healthy looking animals in a pretty landscape just a few minutes drive from the N2 exit Klein Brakrivier. Our guide, Chris, did an excellent job answering all questions and more in a humorous way. The restaurant looks good and the lodges look phenomenal with a great view of various animals at a stretch of water. And all very convenient and within a few hours.

Visited this Private Game Reserve when our Cruise Ship stopped at Mossel Bay, about 35 minutes drive away. My wife & myself had planned to visit a much larger Park earlier in our cruise but had to cancel due to her illness. Glad we did as we heard mixed reports from passengers who went, whereas we really enjoyed this trip even though this park is much smaller. Arrived just after 9am to a welcome drink and snack before boarding our vehicle for the drive itself. The vehicle was larger than expected, built to carry about about 14/16 passengers, but with only10 of us on board plenty of room to move about and take photos. The park itself is not over-large compared to many others we've read about, doesn't have proper laid out roads, and is quite undulating, so the 2.5 hour trip was quite bumpy at times. Nevertheless under the care of our guide,Nelson, we saw most of what we wanted to see, including 4 of the BIG 5( Botlierskop has no Leopards), plus Zebras, Giraffes,Hippo,different types of Antelope,Wildebeest,etc. We also saw many of the attractive Lodges which are available for overnight stays. The main building/Reception block also housed a large restaurant/bar & shops, which gave the impression of providing an enjoyable stay for those able to do so. Nevertheless we enjoyed our time at Botlierskop, everyone made us feel welcome, and gave us a feel of what a full Safari holiday would offer.

What a fantastic game reserve! We enjoyed it immensely. The park has 4 of the big five animals and we saw all four. Lion, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino. The giraffe, zebra and cheetahs were great too! What a fantastic park! The staff is super friendly. Brizano was extremely friendly and cheerful and knew where to find all the animals in the park. In the service, Anita deserves a big compliment for her hospitality and how special you feel as a guest. The accommodation was good! We slept in the tents. Everything was there with a great view of the animals. If you want to make a game reserve, this is highly recommended.

The hotel complex, the restaurant and the safari tours: everything is very professional, warm and organized with a lot of commitment. During 3 nights we were able to experience the warm hospitality of "the Village", excellent food and on 2 afternoon safari tours we experienced the incredibly beautiful landscape with many animal sightings. Our guide Richard taught us a lot about the flora and fauna as well as the challenges of a game reserve. Thank you very much - we will definitely come back and can recommend the location wholeheartedly.

Good Day, How do we arrange a tour from a cruise ship? Just 2 adults. Arriving Saturday January 18 on NCL Dawn. Arriving 8:30am departs 5:00pm. It is a tender port so we will not be ashore any earlier than 9:30. Thank you for reeplyng and giving us information. Steve and Kathy

Is there a day-tour of the Game Reserve offered from Mossel Bay Port? We will arrive via cruise ship on January 4, 2020 at 8am and depart the same day at 5pm. Please let me know.

The reserve definitely offers day tours. I would contact them directly to find out who the operators are that you could use to get you to the reserve

Hi, we will be staying at your lodge in late Jan. May I check if there will be alot of flies and mosquitoes during that period, and if a hat with netting is recommended for game drives and horseback safari?

No not really - if we get rains there will be mosquito's yes but not bad and only in the evenings - we do have mosquito netts on beds in case this could be a problem. There is not a lot of other insects that would be so much that a nett is needed no. Take care and looking forward hosting you in January

Me interesa saber cuantas horas dura este tour, ya que iré en el mes de enero en un crucero y solo tendré un par de horas en mossel bay.
También quiero saber la distancia qué hay entre el centro o el puerto de mossel bay hasta la reserva, estaré ahí desde las 10 de la mañana hasta las 6 de la tarde.

Hi,
I have booked a room with you for a night. Is the safari cost included in my room rent?
Also , I will be visiting in December end . What are the chances for seeing all big 4 in one game drive?
I will be checking in during day time & spend the night there & leave for next town next day after check out.
I don't have much time to explore other game reserves, but I hope this does have animals in their natural habitats. Do you serve wines during your game drives, like other reserves do?
