Did this trail hike in full with a guide and are glad we did. So much marine wildlife appeared along the way (including whales even though the season had ended!). Ensure you bring a snack for when you take a break midway along the trail. Binoculars are a must.

This hike is only 13km, but the up/down makes if a bit mre challenging. But, you need to go slow anyway to enjoy the amazing views. Take enough snacks, at many places you will just sit and enjoy the views. This is one of the must-do things in Mosselbaai.

Wonderful day out. Filled with Wales, dolphins, seals and dassies. Really worth the effort. Don't forget to stop at the lighthouse for a coffee.

We started from near the Mossel Bay zipline. The trail started with some climbing, and thereafter it becomes relatively flat. Great view of the Ocean and people zipping down the zipline. Also saw many Hyrax/Dassie along the way. There is a split just before the zipline start point. Will need to take the left turn if you want to stay on the trail.

Take your time, enjoy the views. We took 6 hours to complete the trail, just because we needed a lot of time to enjoy all views. I am glad we did it during an overcast day, it would have been more difficult during a sunny summer day.

We ventured out to walk part of the St. Blaize Trail on New Years Day 2022. Family of 5 with kids aged 11,15,17. I would not recommend taking small children at all since there are steep drops and not very many railings.
The early morning weather was gorgeous with the cool sea breeze. The wind normally picks up around 10-11am so be sure to do an early hike.
The trail is moderate in the beginning with lots of steps and some rocks but after about 5 min it eases out to a pretty easy trail with stunning views of the Indian ocean. There are several places to enter or exit the trail along the way. No drinking water en route, so make sure to take some.

We walked this trail at least once a week. If in the Mossel bay area, its a must do.
You can decide how far you want to go, but comfortable walking shoes, water and a hat is necessary. Not for totally unfit walkkers or small children.
Pinnacle clubhouse is about half way to Dana bay. You can alsa stop your walk there. Good facilities at the clubhouse.

Beautiful trails to walk with the most amazing views of the ocean, and waves breaking against the shore. We went on a Saturday morning, and there were other hikers and joggers along the way. The route does not have shade, which was great in August. I would wear a hat and sunscreen during summer months. Parking at Point was also safe.

My wife and I arrived in Mossel last night with a plan to walk the St Blaize Trail but we have spoken to 3 local people who have advised us not to do it. Is anyone planning to walk it today or tomorrow afternoon so we can join them and walk as a bigger party? If yes please text or what's app on 00447747878484. Cheers. Ash

How safe is it to do this trail? We are coming from overseas. An elderly aunt living there has said people need to go in big groups or have an armed guard!

The trail starts at the St Blaize cave (underneath the lighthouse). You can turn back whenever you want, or go all the way to either Pinnacle Point Golf Club, or Dana Bay.
