Sometimes we carried away with celebrities and try to ape them , we gone with whole family and got struck inside the shrine as all entries no exit , entries are managed by brokers and main broker sitting at top with cruel looks, if he says yes after receiving sufficient amount signals his goons guarding the gate and they will leave you otherwise you are struck with your children , my younger daughter literally suffocated and crying for no body to care !
In the name of faith , loafers have encroached the shrine , just pray from hearts ! Don't fall in this death trap

We major reason for coming to Ajmer shariff was just to visit Khawaja Garib Nawaz Dargah. In this Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisty there is no barrier for any caste any religion everyone can offer prayer. It is also saying no one goes empty handed from Khawaja Shahab Dargah. We sat there for around 4-5 hours and it was divine feeling of spirituality and calmness.

Visited Ajmer Dargah Sharif on a Friday evening in Oct’23. Basis advice from fellow TA traveler, contacted Mr. Syed Masood Chishti, who guided us for a peaceful Dargah visit. The Dargah is situated in the middle of a busy and crowded marketplace with narrow roads. Lots of shops available at both side of the road. Our cab dropped us at the entry of marketplace, from where we took an auto to Dargah. The drive to Dargah was through narrow and busy by-lanes of the market, there was a small walk too from dropping point to Dargah. Footwear can be kept at the entrance of the dargah. Mr. Syed was waiting at the Dargah gate, he gave us a whole round trip of the Dargah. There are shops available inside the dargah selling Flower and Chaddar. We bought flowers and Chaddar from a shop inside the Dargah and offered the same to the shrine. When we visited, there was moderate crowd in the dargah, Mr. Syed guided us during visit the main Shrine, we offered the flowers and chaddar and did the darshan peacefully, he also did the prayers for us. It may be further mentioned that Mr. Sayed did not ask for any money, we only offered some token gratitude to him. At the time of return, we literally lost the way and walked to an auto stand at the other side of the dargah and drove through a long way to our cab. Overall, it was a peaceful visit to Dargah.

The Ajmer Dargah, a Sufi saint's tomb, is a must-visit in Rajasthan. This revered site transcends religion, offering peace to all. The white marble complex, adorned with silver and gold, is an architectural marvel. Seek blessings at the tomb of Saint Chisti, a descendant of Prophet Muhammad.
You can experience Mughal history through the mosques built by emperors like Akbar and Shah Jahan. People of all faiths find solace here, leaving flowers and offerings. Don't miss the enormous pots used for preparing special meals on religious occasions. This spiritual haven offers an unforgettable experience.

Don't make the mistake I made and let the priests bully you into donating a lot of money. Be prepared to be borderline shaken down if you are a foreigner.

Most Popular Dargah in Ajmer, India
You will find people from all religions there visiting the shrine praying for their good health and prosperity. This place is always crowded. Make sure you visit this off- season. You will feel a different level of energy here.
As it's a Dargah make sure your attire is appropriate (cover yourself properly).
Good amount shops near Dargah.
We shopped bunch of dupattas on the back from Dargah
Be alert : take care of your wallet, purse and phones, do not visit when it's too crowded.

From the cab drop off point to inner sanctum sanctorium, it’s about 1 km walk, that’s dotted with heart rending underserved human beings, poverty in its naked attire, un hygienic environment.
Have a towel/ shawl wrapped around head.
Be very careful of pickpocketers. Leave all bags in cab. U can carry mobile fines, but be watchful.
Leave the footwear right at the main entrance. Person charges ₹10 per pair, take a token. Don’t be hustle by anyone else. Ask for help from police.
Queues could have been far better organised. Main line gets split into two, for women n men separately.
Inside khadim/ priests openly demand for donations. Don’t yield. Just put ur money offerings only in green coloured boxes meant for donations.
Don’t need to take anyones help for visit.
Just ensure u start the day by 6-7 am, from Jodhpur. It takes 4 hrs of drive. One can return by same evening around 7 pm after visiting Pushkar as well. Jodhpur-Ajmer-Pushkar-Jodhpur.
It costs ₹4500-5000for AC sedan such as Etios or Dezire on all inclusive basis ( road taxes, toll charges, driver allowance, parking charges). No additional fees.
If you prefer by distance, negotiate for ₹9-10/km, kilometre reading from hotel to hotel, and a fix on parking and toll charges, which should be in the range of ₹350-450.
Normally cabs are parked away from Dargah to avoid steep parking of about ₹150 for which locals may start fights to get ur business.
We have hired the services of Mr. Vikram Singh( 9571676911)who has offered an excellent driver, Mr.Gopal Singh(9784285349). Mr.Gopal’s suggestions on hidden gems, restaurants, and local trips in Jodhpur, is quite honest and spot on.
In any case it’s always better negotiate and bring down initial prices by about 20-25%.

Skrevet 12. april 2019
Hi, No I don't think so. There are many hotels around it. The place is always too crowded. They have visiting hours.
Skrevet 13. april 2019
Hi
Can we know how far we have walk form parking place to Dargah
Skrevet 10. januar 2019
Better to take Auto if you have elderly people. If young walk which would take 20-30 mins. Be watchable while waking.

i will reach with my family on Sunday Morning @ 4.00 am to Ajmer Railway Station and will leave on Monday @ 11.00 am. can anyone please tell me programme to Visit about Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Ana Sagar Lake, Taragarah Fort and Pushkar.
Skrevet 14. oktober 2018
plan ur night - option 1 in pushkar with lot of cafes and tourist around or option 2 in ajmer
based on that u can travel
drive from ajmer to pushkar is approx 2 hours. in any of the option above u can either plan for a sunrise or sunt set at the lake.
u can also do a full day at pushkar on ur day of arrival and then leave from pushkar next day early around 4 towards ajmer dargah and back to station on time
ill prefer to take a taxi from station direct to pushkar spend the night there or leave from pushkar late in eve . check inn at a hotel in ajmer rest and do onwards journey

Hi Chaitany S, I would like to know "How to offer Chadar and Flower to Ajmer sarif dargah". What if i bring chadar and flower from else where, Could it be offered to dargah?
Your response is highly appreciated.
Skrevet 2. august 2018
Ajmer Railway Station is hardly 10 mins walking distance from the shrine. Instead of booking a hotel online, get down at station & start walking. By the time you reach the shrine, you'll have multiple options (cost /facilities) to choose from (with a proper look & feel of the hotel). These hotel brokers are at every 3 steps offering you the best of service.
Even if you are with your family, let them enjoy some snacks at a decent restaurant & you go for a roundup... Hope that helps!

I'm travelling to Ajmer from Jaipur on 12th Jan, please suggest me the plan for one day. Thanks
Skrevet 2. januar 2018
Quality may please be read as quali song. Be sure the taxi rent includes all toll and other taxes payable on road. You will get a lot of road side hotels for your food. I did not see any bargains towards taxi fare, it is more or less standard. You also tell taxi driver where he will leave you after the trip while finalising the booking.

Skrevet 25. november 2017
I visited Dargah Shariff on 21.Nov.2017 at around 11:30 am and I saw a group of qawals singing qawalli just outside the main tomb. I am not sure that they are there everyday.
