Jambukeswarar/Akhilandeswari temple at Thiruvanaikaval in Trichy is a huge and historical temple.
We just went before 12 noon as the darshan for devotees is generally closed between 10.30 am and 12 noon due to some Pooja rituals in the temple.
At 12 noon exactly everyday, a priest in guise like a lady ( representing Akhilandeswari Devi) does Pooja to a holy cow in front of Eashwar’ sannithi. We were fortunate to witness that during our visit.
They have ₹25,₹10 and free darshan queues for darshan of Eashwar and Devi.
Eashwar in the form of Shiva Lingam is at a lower level in water said to be that if river Cauvery. As it is a cramped place which can accommodate maximum around 10 people, a man is stationed to regulate the visitors who jostle to move ahead where all 3 queues merge.
Very serene and happy darshan of Eashwar and Devi!

Akhilandeswari amman dharsham was mind-blowing. Moolavar Jambukeswarar was in close proximity to earth. Kubera lingakeswarar was majestic. Overall dharsham was awesome. In addition to that, the architect/construction and maintenence of the temple is astonishing for me. I've seen temple with poor maintenence but this temple with this much huge area is maintained at close to divinity...Hatsoff to the maintaining team.

Jambukeswarar Akhilandeswari Temple is a Bhagwan Shiv and Mata Parvati temple in Srirangam (around 10 KM from Trichy and around 1.5KM from Sri Ranganathar Temple).
The temple is huge, and very beautiful.
It would take a minimum of 2 hours to visit the complete temple. One must keep in mind the timings (as it closes in afternoon like all other Shiv temples).

Grand temple, near Srirangam. Was very crowded on Sunday. Preferably choose a time that's less crowded like early morning, etc. But finally, we had good Darshan of the Lord and Amman

While not immediately striking, this quaint temple is surprisingly charming. Its design is intricate and there are also local ceremonies involving elephants and cows. I might actually enjoy this Shiva temple even more than the large Swamy temple nearby to it!

This temple has a story with a deep meaning to it. It's one of the Panch Bootha sthalams representing Jal tattva or water. Therefore the lingam here is called Apu lingam.
Please visit Sri Akhilandeshwari temple first, then head to Sri Jambukeshwarar. The Garbha Gudi is quite small and only a few can enter at a time. Therefore, lines will be a bit slow moving. But completely worth the time and effort.

Huge temple of Jambukeswarar(Shiva) and we had an excellent darshan. This is also called the Tiruvanaikaval temple.
The renovated bridge was still not opened and so travel time was about 15 minutes more.

The
Jambukeswarar Temple is about 1800 years old, situatedin Trichy, Tamilnadu. It's a wonderful temple, with a huge complex, spacious and beautiful. The main temple has about 800 pillars. Words cannot describe its beauty. Best part of the temple is that it's less crowded and one can peacefully have darshan and walk around. It would be nice to have a guide to visit the whole temple. As per tradition one must visit Goddess Akhilandeshwari first, then visit God Jambukeswarar.

While there is no specific dress code, one should avoid very casual clothes like shorts, track suits etc, in my view.

Can I carry my phone and camera with me while visiting the Jambukeshwar Temple , but not use it to take pictures inside the Temple. If not is there a counter for holding the phone while I go in for Darshan

Sim, regarding the temple architecture , history, temple timing information etc you can check out my TA review.
Cauvery boating is not allowed at this place and while there is water right now due to the copious inflow, there is no guarantee that there would be water in January end. You can ping me if you need more info but most of it is on my TA review
temple timings please?

It is possible, as distance between temples is not long. But you need to get ready, immediately after reaching Tiruchirapalli. If you can cover temples in Trichy before lunch, it is possible. Some temples must be closed afternoon. If you can finish Trichy temples by 1.00 pm, after having lunch you can go to Tanjore before 4 PM and leave Tanjore big temple by 6 PM. Tanjore - Kumbakonam will not take more than an hour or maximum one and half hour. Straight away dash into Sarangapani temple and pick up the dinner so that you can catch the train by 10 pm. I do not know about the Travels service in Tiruchirapalli and probably you can google and find it out. If I come across some travels contact number, I will let you know.

Instead of trichy suggest you to get down at Srirangam station itself. There is a Subham residency hotel just 2 mins walk from srirangam train station. U can check with them for rooms availability and tempo booking. Srirangam temple is just 5 mins walk and jambukeswara temple is 10 mins auto ride. In Srirangam temple u can opt of 250 rupees darshan for faster darshan and jambukeswara temple it should not be more than 30 mins. Depending upon how u get ready in the morning, u can complete both by 11am atmost Start to Tanjavur by 11.30 and reach by 1PM. Have a nice visit to lord bruhadeeswara temple and complete ur lunch too. I think by 2.30PM u can start from Tanjavur and reach Kumbakonam by 4PM at which most of the temples will be opened for evening darshan. Have darshan of sarangapani temple, adi kumbeswara temple and maha maham tank before having dinner and boarding the train at 10PM as per your plan. U can have wonderful prasadams at Srirangam temple as breakfast. They are awesome and yummy.
Pillayar temple in trichy is on the hill and you will not be able to complete as part of your mentioned schedule. It need almost half day.

Hi, I do not know any hotels very near to this temple. But good hotels are there near junction (which I know of)--SRM, Grand Gardenia, Breeze (Jenny's) are examples. From junction, by bus, it takes about 45 minutes. Buses go by Chathiram, and the bus fare is Rs10 per head.
