The beach was awesome, peaceful and calm. No crowd at all even during morning or evening. It was long beach covered with white sand and coconut trees. If you love a beach without any crowd around and this is the best place. Not a commercial place and you will not find any hotels, other shops typically that you will find in popular tourist place.
If you need a place to stay, I would highly recommend “Telma beach home stay”, which is hardly 200m. It’s run by a family and the owner Martin is very nice and down to earth person. The way they took care of our family was just amazing and hospitality was simply incredible. House is constructed newly and rooms are very spacious and very clean, nothing less than 4 star stay. With a courtyard and spacious front area with wooden flooring. Home cooked food that they provided was, best food that we had in a trip. You may find more or less similar homestays nearby, but I assure you that you will not find a caring person like Martin. One thing for sure was, he is not running this for making money for cost he offered. It’s worth a place to stay in Mararikulam.
If you’re planning to go for houseboat in Alleppy, it’s better to go for day trip and stay in a place like Telma beach home stay.

A beautiful 8km streach of beach located in Kerala between cherthala and Alleppey. Mararikulam is the local station. Most of the homestay and hotels are located within 2 km of the mararikulam railway station which is the actual mararikulam. .public transport available from cherthala or Alleppey less than rs30/- half an hour.buses are not over crowded.Auto charges rs 500 to cherthala.Most of the homestay charges rs1500 NAC and 2000 for ac with breakfast .direct booking is lower than online. main beach is at the road crossing the rahmania restaurant to station. Walked full length of the beach and seen only this point some huts selling cool drinks, snacks,tea etc. You will not get even a bottle of water other parts of the beach. Swimming is allowed between November to April. Less than 10 homestay are available with sea view rooms. Sea view rooms are 3500/-. Rehmania is the only full fledged stand alone restaurant. Next good restaurants are at Arthungal. Xandari pearl, Abad,cgh earth are posh hotel ranging from 6kto 20k.Personally seen the rooms and toilet of Agape,Marai nest, Marari beach villas, Marari Beach house, Marari seascape, Marari umapathi, Marai jes dazzling villa and are very good. No food is cooked other than breakfast since tourists are less but arrange home delivery . generally the hosts are staying in the next house. Not seen bar and restaurant in this area. In Kerala 4 Star hotels only get licence for bar.but host can arrange with extra premium.

It is a good beach to visit and spend time. Many stretches without too much crowds. Life guards are on duty in some stretches. Sea was rough on the two days we were there so couldnt enter much into the water. only could stay close to shore and get feet wet!

we went there with friends, it was full of locals, it was Sunday. So if you enjoy to be in a local ambience you will love it. the sand and the sea is wonderful and you have the opportunity to observe local people enjoying the seaside. There are a couple of cafes shags around but they might be below your expectations

Lovely sand and miles of it, with a few beachside cafes (though hard to get a beer), but shelving and quite rough for swimming, and the waterline a string of plastic bottles.

The Mararikulam beach is a nice place to ease yourself from the hustle and the bustle of the mad city rush. The cleaniness has to be improved and more amenities need to be provided. I had disposed off quite a few plastic bottles littered on the beach. Excercise caution when entering the waters as the sand tends to disappear under your feet. Best time early mornings and evenings.

Lovely long beach with nothing much on it. Unfortunately where the road leads on to the beach people have left quite a bit of litter. The rest of the beach is very clean.

It's a nice peaceful beach with golden sands. Since it's not yet on popular tourist circuit, its unspoilt and retains it's natural beauty. Few shacks serving juice and sea food have come up on the beach shores. One can also rent the beacj umbrella and a makeshift bed from villagers to enjoy the sunny sands and waves. Surfing equipment is available to rent as well. Nice little cafes have also come up on the way and in nearby areas.

This is a bit offbeat location but has one of the most beautiful beach in Kerela. The beach has few eateries and in general is a clean and tidy beach.

The beach is accessible for localities for fishing and for the beach resorts. Good Sunset and pleasant breeze and relaxing place, but no activities and eatables on the beach
