First thing first, a good 400 step up!
And a nice serene place.
The one who has an eye and love for ancient caves and architectures should visit this place.

I went to Bedsa Caves. Located slightly far from Kamshet, Bhedsa caves are one of the oldest caves of Maharashtra, dating back to 60 BC. These are situated on a sloppy hilly location. Known for their beautiful, exquisite carvings, the caves contain four 25 feet high pillars. It is great place to go.

These caves are really pretty and not that popular, hardly any people know about it, I wish the caves are maintained well and are restored for the future generations.

We visited Bedsa (also called Bedse) yesterday. We were in Kamshet and it is a very easy drive from there (about 20 km). The road is good till you reach the turn for Pawna Nagar. From then on, the road becomes narrow. Taking a kuccha road to Bedse Village will take you to the foot of the hills where the caves are located. A staircase leads you to the caves (a 10 min climb to the top).
There are two main caves - one us a prayer hall and the other is a place for the monks to stay. The prayer hall is beautiful and has a great sense of calm. There are also small holes made to catch and store water. The prayer hall has a stupa and pillars lining the sides. Even the smallest sounds make big echoes in the hall. Please ensure that you remove your footwear before entering and maintain decorum as it is a place of worship.
There were 2 large families visiting the caves at the same time as us. They were very noisy and were eating lunch inside the caves. Very sad to see that people really have no consideration for a national protected monument.

These caves are situated on the old Mumbai Pune Highways near Kamshet. There are two main caves and both contain some carvings although are less ornate than later
caves. There is also a small "Stupa" outside to the right of the main caves. Bedse Caves are comparatively less known and less visited. People know about the nearby Karla Caves and Bhaja Caves but have hardly heard of Bedse Caves. The trilogy of the caves (Karla - Bhaje - Bedse) in Mawal Region can't be completed without Bedse. An easy hike through steps leads to the caves. Also close to the Bedse caves are the famous foursome of Lohagad, Visapur, Tung and Tikona forts adjoining the Pawana Dam. The best time to visit Bedse Caves is the rainy season as the hills are filled with lush greenery during that time. Also many small waterfalls are created that can only be enjoyed during the rainy season.
Bedse Caves can be reached from Pune via Kamshet. Upon reaching Kamshet Chowk, left route is to be taken. That route goes straight to Bedse Village where the caves are located. They can also be reached via Paud - Tikona Peth - Pawananagar. Alternate route is from Somatne-Phata on the Pune-Mumbai NH4 Highway.

Hi.
I am planning to visit Badsa caves via 2 wheelers (scooty to be precise). If that a good choice or should I opted for the train up to Kamshet railway station and get some other vehicle from there?
