was really looking forward to visiting and calling into the tearooms after exploring but the place was closed with an unhelpful notice raising health and safety issues but not fully explaining what was going on and if the place will re open - what a shame hope they sort it previous reviews were good and the adverts we saw looked interesting.

A still-working water mill, when the race is freed and the wheel turning. No grain is milled here any more, sadly, but the buildings remain. There is a lovely tea room with fab homebaking and a warm welcome, whatever the weather. It provides employment opportunities for a range of folk, including people with learning disabilities. Set in a beautiful location with wild landscaping and, of course, the mill race, there are lovely walks round and about come the sunshine. Don't miss it!

I live in Benholm and have been here many times it has great home bakes and paninis. It is a great project that shows people with special needs how to cater and garden. Amazing 5 stars great community project love it sooooooo much !!!!!!!!!! (first visited in july 2012)

The tearoom is open Monday to Friday 10am to 2:30pm fifty weeks of the year (open Mondays to Saturdays 10am to 3:30pm during the summer season).

You cannot miss the roadside signs just south of Inverbervie with the millwheel and blue haycart in the car park by the A92.

Disabled access is well signposted with parking for two vehicles on the riverside outside the tearoom which also has a toilet for the disabled.

A short walk back in time down the track along part of the Mill Brae Gorge gives glimpses of the Mill and Miller's Byre tearoom below.

The cosy tearoom always offers several excellent home made soups with home made bread and has developed a name for excellent home baking with a wide range of pastries to tempt you away from your diet.

The four hundred year old waterwheel mill is the last one of its kind to be found working in Aberdeenshire.
