This site is also referred to as Moses' Spring. It is located in a very unassuming building just as you enter Wadi Musa city limits, on your right hand side. The site is religiously significant because it is believed this is where Moses struck the rock with Aaron's staff resulting in a strong flow of water for the Israelites.

Admission is free. As you can see from the pictures, the interior is not large. There isn't much water; it trickles down from the mountain. If you have a checklist of religious sites in Jordan, this should be on the list and a good reason to visit. If not, you are not missing much. It takes about 10 minutes to park, get in and out, and be on the road again. So, if you are in the area, you may as well stop by.

We went as part of a group tour on our way to Petra. This simple structure at the intersection of the northern entrance of Wadi Musa is the Moses spring. It is beleived that this is the place where the prophet Moses struck the rock with his staff and water gushed out for his followers. Not a awe inspiring site, but it is still a sacred site to those who are religious. Glad we stopped there.

Historically significant if you are religious. Otherwise, it's just a big stone and stream in a domed structure near the entrance to Wadi Musa.

Interessante!

Does not look like much, but this historically significant place is very important to religious study and I felt that it was an important part of our visit to Israel/Jordan. Consider this important enough to stop and see it. A guide helps to explain what you are seeing better than without the knowledge especially beforehand.

lediglich die Ehrwürdigkeit der Stätte lohnt einen Besuch; tatsächlich ein kleiner Bassin und ein Fels in einem unscheinbaren Gebäude – man muss schon gut suchen, um die Stätte – direkt an der Straße – zu finden;
