This is such a beautiful architecture . Big temple complex and the place has lot of history. They have 3 headed nandi which was destroyed so ASI has placed 3 different Nandi to denote 3 times Pooja of Lord Shiva. You can do darshan very easily and temple complex has a elephant which goes by the name Lakshmi. She will bless you once you give some offerings. The inverted shadow of the gopuram is beautiful.

The temple and surrounding structures are magnificent. The architecture is unbelievable if you take construction was started in 740 AD and this temple is in use since. The religious significance is noted in the amount of people that visit it.

Virupaksha temple is one of the main attractions of Hampi. It has one of the oldest svayambhu shivlinaga. Lord Ram had worshipped in this temple during his exile from ayodhya. The temple is an architectural marvel. One needs a minimum of two hours to explore the temple. It would be recommended to take a guide along to understand the historical importance of the place. Seperately, there is no climb or stairs for the temple and can be easily visited by elders too.

This is the quintessential temple you should not leave Hampi without seeing. It is towering high right near to the main Hampi village. It charges a small entry fee, with separate photography fee if you want to take shots.
The best view of the Virupaksha Temple is from Matanga Hill just behind, so make sure you check out Matanga Hill as well.

Old temple from 7th century and the only temple in Hampi where worship is done. The main deity here is very attractive and you get mesmerised by it.
This is under maintenance with Karnataka Govt and they can do a much better job on this. Pained to see the slush all around after the rains.

Sudarshan, since you have only 2 days you should stay at near Hampi I suggest you Hotel Mayura Bhuvaneshwari Kamalpur or Hotel Clark Inn Kamalpur. These two are goods options and Auto is available in front of Hotels. Since you have two day. you should concentrate on Hampi attractions only like Anjaneya Hill is a good option but you can skip due to limited time

1 Day trip to Hampi
We have visited Hampi on 24th Dec 2017 from Hyderabad. One day trip to Hampi. Must visit place in Hampi.
Hosapet is the nearest town (13 kms) to reach Hampi. It has Hosapet Jn Railway station and bus stand also.
There are many momoments in Hampi, But if we give rating/priority for the places which shouldnt miss in hampi as follows, Stone Chariot & Vithala Temple stands in 1st place (need 1 hour atleast) and virupaksha temple in 2nd place (need 1 hour & temple closes between 12 to 2pm), elephant stable & lotus mahal in 3rd place (need 1 hour), Stepped well & Queens Bath in 4th place (need 1 hour), Stone Ganapatathi (15 min), Big Siva Linga (10 min) & Stone Narasimha Swamy (10 min) in 5th place and rest of monoments follows.
No proper mobile network or mobile signals in most of the places in Hampi. We can have Toilet facility out side this temple but not inside. Next Toilets we can find at Lotus Mahal and Elephant Stables. Females can note this point.
23rd Night we got a train (17603 KCG YPR Express) from Hyderabad/Kachiguda (9.10 pm) to Hosapet Junction and reached Hosapet Jn next day morning 24th at 8.30 am. We got freshup in the Railway Station Dormitories and hired an auto for the entire day to visit all the places in Hampi. Auto person charged us 900 Rs. We can also hire a Cab (or) Rent Bike (or) Rent By-Cycle. But I will not suggest Bike or By-Cycle because Hampi is a muddy(mud/sand) or dust place. Our cloths, faces, hair etc will get spoiled for sure if you travel Hampi for entire day. Its better to get an Auto (1000 rs approximately for whole day) or Cab/Car (2300 rs approximately for whole day).

Well, 3 days are more than enough to explore hampi and badami. I did a solo trip over during the holi weekend. It will require a lot of stamina to walk around in Hampi . So I suggest you can take a cab or an auto rickshaw . August will be rainy season so you have to watch your steps too in Badami as it will be a mini trekking experience.
I stayed at Hospet and Hampi as there is good connectivity of buses between Hospet and Hampi .
Please suggest plans for 3 days trip to hampi badami ihole pattadakallu

3 days will be little too less to cover all the places. But if you're still want to do the same, then reach Hampi/Badami whichever is nearest to your place and cover Badami, aihole, and pattadkal in 1.5 days and then travel to Hampi which is 3-4 hrs journey and cover the rest of Hampi in a day or so. In my opinion you need 2 full days for Hampi, 1 full day for Badami.
i am planning to visit hampi on friday. i just have one day to stay. i travel from bellary. can anyone guide from which point should i start exploring and the places which i can cover?

Hi
Start with Vijaya Vithalla complex.. it will require 3-4 hours.
Then visit Palace area which will require around 2-3 hours.
In the evening you can visit Saswkalu ganapati, krishna mandir, bajarpeth and virupaksh mandir.
From the hill near saswekalu ganpati you can enjoy sunset.
At the end visit virupaksh mandir.
You can cover all the places in one day.
I hope you are not starting too late in the morning. in 6-7 hours you can cover all places.
