the conical peaks on the banks of Betwa River. These are top most portion of the structures of the Cenotaphs of Orccha. These \funeral monuments were built to keep the Kings of Bunelkhand alive in the Indian history.

Ticket - Applicable, Single ticket for single person , one ticket for more monuments in Orrcha
Photography -Ticket applicable

Must have- proper shoes, water bottle, hat/ cap

These cenotaphs are called as Chhatris (umbrella) by the locals. They look similar, except the one made for Vir Singh Deo- the most successful Bundela Raja. The size of the Chhatri perhaps was decided basis the length of the reign of those rulers

The cenotaphs turn into golden colour when sunlight falls on them; and by evening they are back to their stone form. May be it just mirrors the story of the Bundelkhand kingdom and Orchha, a once prosperous kingdom now is now reduced to a monument!

Majority of the cenotaphs close to Betwa river are housed in a walled garden and are maintained well . There is no entry fee as such. Sufficient paid parking is available close by. Few of the cenotaphs are on the banks of the river itself and outside the walled garden. Sadly, these are not maintained well and the surroundings are used as garbage dumps. All the structures are huge, imposing and beautiful irrespective.

Extremely beautiful Structures on the betwa river bank and a must visit place in Orchha. There are total 14 Chhatris and are basically a memorial to the rulers of Orchha. Don't miss the place in evening and the Sunset. Also watch them from the River Bridge as well. Its a Sight to behold.

This is a must visit place in orchha. Near to kanchana ghat and "I love Orchha" selfie spot. The cenotaph are decently maintained and gardens are well manicured. The ticket is to obtained at the fort complex and must be visited the same day.

Fourteen 'Chatris' are constructed along the Kanchan Ghat of River Betwa. These were made to serve as memorials to the Bundela kings who ruled Orchha.and are of the 17th and 18th centuries. They impart a picturesque look to the River Bank and add tons to the beauty of Orchha town. There is a lovely selfie point near these where 'I Love Orchha' is boldly written.Besides the river banks, the Chhatris also dot several spots around the Fort complex. Boating at an affordable charge can be enjoyed in the river and the facility is present at the Kanchan ghat.We found the Ghats generally clean and having flat small steps. We went in winter time so enjoyed sitting & strolling about in the ghats in the sun.It felt divine and blissful.

The chhatris make this quaint city of Orchha very exciting . The chhatris are spread all over the city and adds to the beauty of this citys skyline. Not much to see inside the structures but collectively these look very impressive

The Royal Chattris are located on the bank of Betwa river and are located bit away from fort. There is ample car parking space in front of chattris entry, they take Rs.30 per car as parking charges. One need to show fort ticket here for entrance.

The area is very well maintained with greenary and plantation. The Chattris looks amazing and huge when seen closer. There are few steps inside each Chattri where you can climb and see surrounding area.

Outside of Chattris there is small place where you can walk towards Betwa river and sit on the steps for some time. There is a selfie point as well where illuminated signage of "I Love Orchha" is written.

From here one can take his car straight towards Lakshmi Narayan Temple by the road beside Chattris.

We visited these ancient structures in the evening,at sunset. They look amazingly beautiful as setting Sun's rays fall on them There are hordes of parrots and other birds in the evening sky circulating over these, and I found the experience very unique.
The location near Betwa river is very nice. After sunset,we sat near the riverfront for a long time, feeling peaceful.
A saint sang bhajans of Shree Ram with his harmonium making the atmosphere divine. It was a full moon night, kojagiri, and we could see both, setting Sun and rising moon at the sametime.

Royal chatrris are located on banks of Betwa river . From Ram raja temple and Orchha fort complex this place is about 10-15 minutes walk. The entrance ticket of orcha fort complex is required to be shown here as there is no ticket counter at Royal chattris.

A not to be missed placed while visiting Orchha. Try to visit in evening as after visiting this place you can spend some time on Betwa river bank or cross the river by walk through a small bridge.

During night these chattris are lighted. Royal chattris closes at 6 pm. There is a food truck near these chattris but this food truck is selling soft drinks at rates higher than MRP.

These are a group of 15 monuments located on the banks of the Betwa river dedicated to the Bundela kings and members of their clan. There are cenotaphs of Vir Singh Deo, Madhukar Shah, Jaswant Singh, Pahar Singh and others. The complex is very clean and the garden is well maintained. Don't forget to click pictures of the cenotaphs from just across the river during sunset.
