First time on this charter boat. I am a frequent charter boat user. I feel that the Captain (Josh) and Deckhand (Cody) were OUTSTANDING. Captain kept everyone apprised of what the game plan was and even though the “Rockies” were not on a very good bite we put a fair amount of them in the boat but he absolutely put us on the Ling cod. We slayed them with a client limit plus 3 for the crew. I cannot wait to go out again.

My brother and I had a memorable day on the Take Five with Captain Josh and his deckhand JP. There were six clients on board. We did a combination of salmon and rock fishing. Captain Josh took us to some amazing spots where we caught our limit of some of the largest rockfish we’ve ever encountered. When the tide was favorable he found the perfect spot for salmon where one of the clients landed a beautiful 28 pounder. Josh and JP worked hard to make our day of fishing productive and fun. Without reservation highest recommendation.

What an amazing day out salmon fishing🐠 in Bodega Bay, with Ryan I'm super excited with the 2 huge fish I caught🎣... and everyone in my group limited out too.

THIS OUTFIT ROCKS...! IF YOU WANT an incredible experience and fish in the box, Go with these guys...! Locals that know their stuff, Hardened and experienced. Seasoned fisherman will be satisfied beyond doubt with their knowledge and drive to pull for you to the last minute to fill the box under any conditions as they did for us!
With their Love for fishing, Josh and Peter, will cordially teach newbies to be expert Salmon Slayers and Affeciandos by the end of the trip!
After years of consistent fishing with many boats here and in SF, my wife and I were totally impressed with them providing a huge bag of ice to preserve our bounty of limits for our return trip home! In 45 years of fishing for salmon, nobody has ever provided that for us! Extremely impressive and caring on their part!
If you want a GREAT TIME and a memorable experience, then you will not be disappointed fishing with Josh and Pete. Go for it.. Life is short especially in these weird times. The only problem you will have is that they are so popular that they can take a limited number of people at a time and they don't get very many cancellations. Took me a year to get to fish with this bunch and every minute with them was worth it!

We had Capt. Ryan and Deckhand Pete. They were the best!!!!! My husband arranged this at the last minute and luckily we were able to get to go on the day of my birthday. Could not have asked for better guides. They talk you through everything. They tell you everything so that you catch your fish. It was AWESOME!!!!!!! You can also rent the boat for a group and you can fish whatever you want.. That is what we are doing for our next family trip. Pete is so knowledgeable about the fishes and the certain cuts. Dont forget to say Hi to Walter.. he is usually waiting for you to get back with your catch and he helps Pete gut and clean your fish :}. THANK YOU RYAN AND PETE!!!! From the Taylor family

I was able to squeeze a day of fishing in with Captain Eric and first mate Pete. These guys worked hard as the day I picked to go was a slow day for all the other boats out fishing. They switched out bait and tried different combinations until I caught two beautiful Pacific King Salmon. The boat was very clean and the guys were professional and fun. I’ve fished all over the world and would highly recommend booking with North Bay Charters.

Left for salmon fishing offshore at 630 - weather was ok at first, but lots of chop (forecast small craft advisory, although not sure it ever got that bad). Hit fish starting at around 930 or 10am, and were getting salmon every 15-30 min for couple hours. Then the wind picked up even more, and we had no luck except for few rockfish, My brother and I weighed our take after it was all portioned out, and I got about 8 lb of fillet from one fish, and my bro got 4 lb, so pretty good take on salmon. We caught 4 total salmon on boat, largest being around 18 lbs. Given the challenging water conditions, I think everyone left satisfied.
Things to know -
Josh and Ryan were great company on the trip, very focused on us having an enjoyable experience and catching as much as we can. Both are very knowledgeable, have lots of cool fishing (and other completely random) stories.
The boat is not large, which is good for having lots of face time with the professionals, but this is not a luxury cruise with a hammock and hot tub. There is always somewhere to sit but you hopefully are spending all your time standing as you land whoppers.
Expect to get splashed with water - you should wear as much waterproof stuff as you can, and layers are great since you can wear just a shell and t shirt if it warms up, or throw on a fleece or 15 if its cold. But you will get some splash on here. so be aware
Pack your own lunch and snacks, and definitely dramamine. You will feel swells while you're more stationary / trolling. Noone got any sort sea-sick for,despite the higher chop we were in. However, if you are pre-disposed to motion sickness, something to keep in mind.

Fishing with Josh was fantastic! Me and my aged crew have been fishing out of Bodega Bay for over 30 years. We all agreed, this was our best trip ever. Josh worked especially hard and put us on the fish and was more than accommodating with all our needs. We will not miss the opportunity to come and fish with North Bay Charters again.

Captain Billy and deckhand Logan are a couple local gems. I have fished all over the world and this was one of the best charter crews I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with. Billy was willing to fight the conditions and helped switch up gear to see if we could find the flavor of the day. We had steep swells stacked tight and a lot of wind, resulting in a cold bite. We were only able to fish from the point back up to bodega rock, but we scraped out a decent bag for a rough day. Came up just short of a keeper ling cod but they did what they could for us. Looking forward to returning with better weather later this summer

Josh and Billy were outstanding! Their ability to put us on the fish immediately was impressive! We were able to catch limits of Ling Cod and Crab because of them! I also caught a Tiger Rockfish and a Cabezon, which was really cool! They both had a great sense of humor and all around it was a great and fun filled time! We will DEFINITELY be back again! Yes we are doing whale watching trips upon request. We have a fast, safe and comfortable 31 foot boat and we can get to the whales, and stay on them
