I have had many a beer with the friendly crowd and staff at the Ale House. Locals and tourists mix easily. The atmosphere is light and easy. Great place to watch the game with friends and to make new ones.

If your looking for a brewery, there are a few good ones close. But the Ale House is just That, an Ale House. They make no claim to be a brewery, event though they do have there own label, they only produce a small amount of a seasonal beer made with berries from the local Lynn's farm.
If you like beer, good beer, from all over the county, state and country, then the Ale House is a must on you places to visit when your in Cambria. I mean if Lady Gaga thinks it's cool, it has to have something going on.

This is THE place. Recommended by a friendly local, this place is so friendly, cozy & has a great bunch of beer on tap as well as great local wines. Everyone is congenial and helpful. We returned the next night. They do not serve food but will let you bring in a treat if you have a hankering.

My BF and I stayed in Cambria for a night and stopped by the Ale House before dinner. It was within walking distance to our hotel so that was nice. The lady behind the counter helped us pick out a few beers for our sampler. The sampler glasses are much larger than normal sample glasses, so $8 for a sampler was reasonable.
It was nice to see beers from San Diego. They had Ballast Point and Stone bottles. They also have sweaters and t-shirts available for purchase.
There were a couple of love seats and a side table available to drink our beer. This place is cozy and very relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't see any signs stating that they brew their own beer.
If you just want a place to drink beer and watch a game, this place is perfect. I just wish they served food. You can have other places deliver food to you though. Which is a nice touch.

What I mean by misleading brewers is that they claim to brew their own beer but they had another local brewery in SLO brew it for them. This information came up after I asked to see the brewery, tanks etc etc. then the truth came out. Shame on them for this. To me this is taking advantage of the craft beer crowd, and is insulting to those that make craft beer. For this reason I will not be stepping foot back into this place.
Owner was evasive not wanting to make small talk after the truth came out, I don't blame him though, he was caught red-handed.
Go to the Cambria Beer Company, the true local microbrewery and talk to the owner there, and see where he makes his delicious beers. Go anywhere but here.

Nice selection of beers. They allowed us to bring pizza and salad in from another restaurant, as they do not offer food.

Great selection of beer on tap.also serve wine and hard cider.
Very friendly owners who are knowledgable and passionate about beer. They were also locals and informative on the area.
The beer we has was a Danish red. Really good

Randomly stayed the night in Cambria and ended up in the Cambria Ale House, only a handful of us in the bar however had a very good night chatting to the owner Chad. A wide selection of beers on offer and clearly Chad is very passionate about ale. Shame we arrived late and could not enjoy a cool beer while watching the world go by in the sun, though late at night the local deer did wander by ! A fun night.

A huge variety of beer on tap and in the bottle. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the owner was really friendly and very helpful in explaining a variety of beers. Although the town also has a brewery type pub on the other side of town this has a lot more choices.

i was initially excited to visit this place when i noticed it driving by. There is a good selection of beers, but being in the direct sunlight probably isn't too good for them. The cooler had some beers as well but not what I wanted. Sampler pricing was a bit over top. $8 for 4 samples... and most of the beers on tap I have already had, so this place is not breaking any new ground. They look like they are capitalizing on the craft beer movement. I found most of the same beers at the grocery store for about $2 less a bottle. Now that is value!
The owner was bouncing around the store looking at bottles, re-arranging them after picking them up. A bit odd, yet humorous to watch. The signage said there is nightly music, but nothing was on the schedule for this evening...
Oh well, i know where to go for real CAMBRIAn BEER and COMPANY. Just head to the west village young man! hint hint
