Edward and Jose were our guides and they went above and beyond to ensure our safety. They were able to engage with all of us. We had a memorable family trip zipping through the canopy. Thank you to our fantastic guides!

The oropendola waterfall part of the tour was beautiful. The time of day we went it was quiet and not many people were there. After the short walk to the fall, a swim and back we headed to the lunch part of our package. We arrived and the line was out the door so were instructed to wait to be called until the line died down. When we finally got called up there was a buffet where I grabbed a variety of the items there. After tasting each other the items I ended up only eating the fresh fruit for lunch. The food was the worst food we had eaten in our over 2 week stay in the country. This hotel clearly overcharges for subpar food and accessing natural wonders. Not worth the money, stay away.

This was FANTASTIC! Easy quick checkin for the tour, and great lunch when you arrive. Oropendola was my FAVORITE waterfall during our 9 day trip in Costa Rica. Simple hike, down the stairs and WOW! I swam in it for quite awhile, sometimes by myself! This is truly a dream waterfall, do not miss it! We also did the 4 other small waterfalls tour onsite. And then the Hot Springs/Mud bath. The hot springs are so natural, simply amazing! The mud bath was a bit disappointing, as they just hand you a shell of mud to rub on you. But... Wow. Do not miss this day trip, definitely do not miss the waterfall!!!

First time doing zip lines 😊amazing experience at the grand old age of 61 ! Our guides Dee & Rye where amazing so helpful and calmed my nerves!

The overall excursions and activities were wonderful! Such a beautiful area and they do a great job of showing you the best of the area.
The "Poor" review, is due to the staff. All the women in my party were groped and or made to feel uncomfortable due to the male staff. My fiance's breasts were grabbed while a man was applying her harness for zip-lining. During the tubing excursion, they grabbed all the behinds of the woman in my party. Completely inappropriate.
The main culprit had a large brown stain across his front teeth. Do not recommend if you have a woman in your party. They will feel uncomfortable.

Les activités et leur enchaînement sont bien organisés. Le tout est très bien encadré avec l’aide de plusieurs guides.

This was the best one day tour I have done. We actually did the canyoneering tour as well. The staff and guides, especially Santos and his team, were first rate. We are two over 70 people and they were very helpful and watchful for safety and all other aspects. The canyoning part included rappelling, rock climbing and swinging through a waterfall. A real challenge but great fun. We also did a fantastic river tubing trip with class III rapids. Again Santos and team were all down through the river to make sure everyone was okay. Then cam the zip lining through a slot canyon. Zip lining through the slot canyon was a very unique experience. Had gorgeous views the entire time. If you are in the area this is a must do!!!

The tubing trip was so well organized. We had 8 people and 6 guides. They were there at every tight spot, at every rapid, ready to help you. They were even hanging off rocks by ropes ready to give you a hand. I couldn’t have felt safer. It’s so beautiful riding down the river with the tree canopy overhead. It’s fast moving, with just enough flat spots to catch your breath. They might only be class I or II rapids but when you’re down in them in an inner tube instead of above them riding on a raft they seem much bigger. It was a fun thrill ride the whole way. You just float, you don’t have to do any work, but it’s like you’re a bouncy pinball bopping down the river. I would 100% recommend riding the rapids in an inner tube at Guachipelin and I’ve whitewater rafted, kayaked and sledged all over the world. This was a blast! I stayed at the hotel and did the tubing trip on its own. Btw, the hotel is really nice and the food was delicious, 5 stars all the way.

We had a fantastic experience! So much fun. The tubing experience was a major highlight of our entire trip and we would have loved to do it twice! I have been ziplining 5-6 times previously, but this was such a unique area and scenery ziplining through the canyon. Beautiful nature and such a cool feeling. We loved the whole experience and 100% recommend. The tubing was so fun with many thrills.

This was AMAZING! So so so much fun. We had the absolute best time. If you want something out of your comfort zone and adventurous and beautiful this is definitely for you. The guides were very helpful and fun, and we felt incredibly safe the entire time

The only way, I believe, is if you have a code that was provided by the company that took the pictures. We purchases ours, but we had a photographer ask before we started the zip line portion if we wanted pictures so when we finished we paid and were given a code to retrieve them online. Might want to contact the company.
A question about how the all day pass works. Do you arrive and choose whatever activity you want? Or do you start in a location and activity and then go right into the next that is near the end location of the previous activity? Do the same guides stay with your group the whole day?
Also, if we are there on a Monday what activities will we not be able to do because the national,park,is Closed?

Hola Micha: There are 4 main activities during this day of adventure canopy (zip line) tour and rappelling through the Rio Blanco Canyon, a tubing adventure on the Rio Negro River with class III rapids, horseback riding expedition to nearby waterfalls, relax with volcano heated thermal waters, steam and mud bath.

If you don’t want to do the horseback - should you show up later? Or can you do another activity like zip lining first thing?

Hi Jim ! Yes, you can show up later and they will take you by bus to the tubing area, instead of getting there with the horses.
Another option is to get there in the morning, do the zip lining first, and then the tubing. Also, you can check the Oropendola waterfall before, as it doesn’t require a tour guide you can check it out at any time before going tubing.

We will traveling to Hacienda Guachipelin this month with 2 young children (2y & 4y) are any of the tours or activities safe for them?

Yes small children can go on the hikes to the national park or to the waterfalls. They can also visit the snake farm , the nurseries, the green houses, the butterfly farm. Parents with babies have participated of the horseback ride in a safe way just by using a kangaroo or a baby back pack. There is a special harness for the 4 year old for the zip line in the canyon. The one activity that I would not do is the tubing.

We are doing the combo tour and my hubby is really nervous about the zip lining. If he backs out of this part of the tour, is there a way we can ensure he can catchup with us for the next activity?

You usually all meet back at the Restaurant and booking center. He could wait for you there. The only thing that is back to back is if you horseback in conjunction with an activity.

Yes they do have photographers along the route - we did the tubing and there were several places the photographer positioned himself to get many different shots along the river.
We bought the whole disk - videos and still photos b/c it was reasonable. The photos are available shortly after the event.

On the Hacienda Guachipelin property is there a building with a sign that says Cancon De La Vieja? At this building is where you get your gear to zipline.

The Guachipelin Adventure location is a HUGE private property neighboring the Rincon de la Vieja National Park & Volcano in Guanacaste. Their entrance is located minutes away from the Las Pailas entrance to the park. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!
It is and will always be one go the best fun filled days of my life!
