Very disappointed. Nice experience for special occasion (very upscale) but you’re paying for the modern space.
Paid $50 per person for a tasting at a table & $30 for cheese plate pairing. Found out later that we could have bellied up to the bar for $35 each!😳. Sparkling wines were nothing special & Pinots were nice but not seemingly worth asking price (& no credit towards tastings unless sale of 4 bottles!). Cheese plate was very nice & beautifully presented but $30??! Save your $$ & walk nextdoor to Rodney Strong where the wines are better & the space more friendly & approachable

We are in California (Santa Rosa) for a wedding. In an afternoon we called several wineries who either demanded reservations, unreasonable fees or Said “no children”…. We called J, where we have had a wonderful tasting in the past. They got us in within a half hour (group of 7). We had an amazing tasting of 2 champagnes a rose and 2 Pinot noirs. All of us loved all of the wines. We went out to a beautiful scenic patio and sampled some grapes off the vine. Donna shepherded us and made us feel special. Anthony led us through the tasting and made it fun.
We all loved this winery and recommend it for ambience, service and excellent wines
Highly recommended! Make this a cornerstone of any wine tour.

We knew how great the wines were, so when we unexpectedly drove by, we had to stop in and experience it first hand. While the first impression upon entering is a bit like a hotel lobby, with tasting at the registration desk, things did improve. We didn't have a reservation so we just did the tasting as offered. Izzy, our host, was delightful! He suggested we take our tasting out for a stroll on the grounds and all was right with the world. The garden was lovely and the wines were as good as we'd hoped. It proved to be a very relaxing afternoon with the some wonderful wine. Would highly recommend it!

We had a choice of standing at the bar for $30 or seated for $40 with the same wines so we chose the bar. It was not warm & inviting.The bar could stand maybe 8-10 people comfortably - all others would be behind you - all others would be behind you. All other wineries we went to had seated tables.
Reservations are mandatory.
The wine is nice but certainly not worth the expensive tasting fee when there are many other wineries with less expensive fees.
As my Nana would say, they cater to the hoi poli & aim for the rich folks, not everyday Americans.
We have gone to wineries all over the world & this one was disappointing due to its superior attitude.
While the wine was good, we did not think they were worthy of their steep costs.
We did get bottles of their Pinot Noir at Costco for $18 - less than half the cost of the winery. That bottle was as good as anything served at the winery!

My wife and I just returned from an eight day wine tasting excursion in Sonoma County. I have been a fan of J Wines for several years, so it was only proper that we visit J Vineyards & Winery. Our host was quite good and very knowledgeable. My wife absolutely loved their "bubbles," and I was extremely pleased with the quality and great flavors of their Pinot Noir wines. The tasting rooms are quite beautiful. Everything about J Vineyards was first class. If you wish to partake of some excellent Russian River wines, and are near Healdsburg, you'll be delighted to stop and do a tasting at J Vineyards & Winery.

I visited the bubble room 3 years ago and it was amazing. I visited again a few weeks ago and experienced a horrible vegan only menu. I had paid in advance and was not notified of the change in menu. The wine parings were not appropriate. It was horrible and I will never go there again. Super disappointed.

When you enter the tasting room through the gorgeous, huge glass doors, you face a long bar with a beautiful "J" art installation behind it. Very elegant and impressive. There are two rooms, one on each side of the entrance and closed off with glass doors. We had reservations and once we checked in, were told to head to the bar.
The gal behind the bar was friendly and attentive, but advised us that they did not offer a tasting flight of only sparkling. However, the "Legacy Room" offered that if we would like. More money of course, but I was there to taste sparkling, so we said yes. She graciously provided us with a taste of sparkling rose to enjoy on the house as we were waiting to be seating in the Legacy Room.
Big Mistake! The room is very chi-chi and elegant and is obviously the place were the beautiful people go to see and be seen. (Can you say pretentious?) I truly feel that we were judged based on our attire and our service reflected that.
Our server, Izzy, had little to no personality, basically told us what he was pouring with no more explanation or background on the wine and left. We watched him interact with the other tables, laughing, refilling water, etc. He walked by our table at least 2-3 times with the water pitcher and never even gave us a glance (with empty water glasses on our table, btw). In general he ignored us. Not that we needed attention, but to be totally ignored was simply rude, impersonal and inattentive for such an upscale winery.
When he set down our check, I politely and calmly asked him what was going on and why we didn't get the same level of service as the other patrons. He got extremely defensive and denied that he neglected our table. As we continued to "discuss" his lack of service, he picked up the check folder, took my credit card out of it,threw it down on the table and walked away.
I will NEVER recommend this tasting to anyone visiting the area. In fact, I will NEVER purchase another bottle of J Vineyards wine just because of this horrible experience. I would much rather invest my money in the fine wines we tasted at other wineries who provided top notch service.

I did a tasting at the standing indoor bar. Knowledgeable staff and great service. Not as much scenery to enjoy compared to other vineyards in the area, but nice selection of bubbles.

I have been a fan of J wines for years. I was so happy to visit. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The wine and cheese pairing was well worth the money. I joined the club and that really saved me some money. I purchased quite a bit of wine but i couldn’t help myself ....it was so good! The winery was clean and respectful of social distancing. What a great day....I hope to return.
