On a fluke picked this small family owned and operated winery on way from Ferrari-Carano. After carefully negotiating the one lane road to the winery, we were greeted by Spotty the winery dog and Jim the owner came out of the barn and did our tasting. One could sense the pride of buying and developing the winery as he began pouring his work into each glass and explaining what and why each was created, $10/pp tasting, refunded if you purchase any very good wine. Chardonay -very good; Cab was excellent and Papa Nonno and BeauSierra are definite BBQ wines.
Drop in to see what others have been/are missing.

Small family run winery with wine prices ranging between $25-$25, more if you are in the wine club. The tasting if $10, waived with one bottle purchase. You can stand inside at the tasting bar (which there is room for only 6 people) or sit outside which is in the middle of the vineyard. Definitely recommend as they have wines that are good price and have a different character than normal.

This was our first stop on a list of wineries recommended by a sommelier in Oakland. The seasoned woman operating the tastings was very charming and a large dog with pronounced cateracts just broke your heart. The wines were also very good and they gave you a great pour for the tastings. The one lane road seems to keep out the large tour tasting buses so you cannot go wrong with this hidden gem.

I had Forchini's Papa Nonno a few years ago at a restaurant and loved it. Sadly I cannot get it at any retail stores in my area, so I was excited to visit the winery. This is a true family-owner winery--smaller production wines served at a small tasting room a short distance from the family home. The tasting room is open on the weekends and by appointment only during the week. The tasting flight is robust (5-7 wines), and although we liked some wines more than others, we didn't try anything we didn't like. The Chardonnay, rose, Papa Nonno, and the Bordeaux blend were my favorites, but there were many others on their list that are sure to please. The wines are a good value for the price. (I loved everything so much I got a half-case and joined their wine club since I can't get Forchini here.)

I believe the woman who helped us in the tasting room was Cher, and she was also fantastic. She's spent a lot of time with these wines and loves to cook, and those are a magical combination. She had some of the most wonderful recommendations for dishes with which to serve the wine--I cannot wait to try some of them.

This was probably our favorite winery on our Sonoma Valley/Napa Valley trip because the wine is really good. If you'll be near Healdsburg, I recommend you check out Forchini. It's worth a visit!

I must say up front that I've known Jim and Anita Forchini since college at Cal Poly, SLO. Therefore, I'm not completely unbiased about this winery and their wines. That said, this property is like a small, family-owned, winery that is commonplace in Tuscany.

There is little pretense. The Forchini's and their wines are all about quality and best practices to sustain the land. Everything is done by family members and a few local employees who help maintain the vineyards. No corporate compromises.

The wines are estate grown, and represent great buys. As I say, I'm biased by a great, long-term friendship, but I don't think you'll go wrong, here.

If you like really good wine, that someone grows the grapes and makes great wine look no further. I own a winery and Jim and Anita here at Forchini were closed we we arrived. It had been 15 years or so since I had seen them. Anita went out of here way to find Jim, her husband and I left a happy wine drinker.
I bought many bottles to keep and drink when I get back home to my place.... I love these vintners that are still in business after all these years.

I hesitate to let you in on this secret gem of a family winery. Their one lane driveway leads to a modes tasting area offering is and cabs that will knock your socks. Owner Jim and his charming wife, Anita, are congenial hosts, bu the wines speak for themselves. A very unique personal experience. The "Papa Nonno" is a Tuscan-style blend that is a bargain and one of my favorites. Best zin around. This spot is a sweet respite from the hubbub of Napa.

We were at Trentadue Winery and our pourer, Sue, knowing we were Sip Card holders recommended a winery listed on our card, Forchini. We take a one lane driveway off Dry Creek Rd. that winds up a picturesque hill revealing a small winery with patio tables under umbrellas and no cars to be seen. We thought we had come across a private winery and considered turning around. A cheerful lady came out to wipe down the tables and assured us we were at the right place. Her name was Cher and she lived up to her name. She instructed us to sit on the end table, with a view of the valley...beautiful! She brought crackers, glasses and wine and comedic entertainment. We were there over an hour without another patron arriving so please don't spread this gem around as I will be back and hope to have the same experience. As I have a convertible with a small trunk that was almost full we were only able to squeeze 6 bottles of their Cab/pinot special so I will have to return for more. With this quality, these prices, friendly service, no crowds, no Napa crawl, I may never do Napa again!

I traveled to wine country with extended family in October 2012. We enjoyed 3 days in the Sonoma County wine regions. Our last winery visit at the end of our only full day there was to Forchini Vineyards. We happened upon it on our drive back to our B&B. We were happy to have come across it because were were introduced to Forchini the night before at Diavola in Geyserville. We ordered a bottle of Papa Nonno and loved it! So when we came across the vineyards, we had to make a stop! We entered their property only to realize they were not open to the general public during weekdays (they are by appointment only during the week because they are a smaller vineyard). Mr. Forchini was outside working in the vineyard and Mrs. Forchini was in the driveway with her dogs. We apologized for bothering them, but they insisted we stay. They opened the tasting room up to my family (8 people total) and spent quality time with us during the tasting. We stayed for a while and got to know them and learned all about their family business and wines. It was a wonderful experience. The Forchini's could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed their entire selection of wines (including the Bordeaux-style, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon). It was a great wine county experience and my family from CA and Ohio signed up to be a part of their wine club!!

My husband and I traveled to Napa/Sonoma for our anniversary in April 2010 and we went to large, small, known and unknown wineries. We brought our lunch to Forchini one day and sat with the owners Jim and Anita who graciously shared their time, experience and lovely winery with us. We ordered wine and and had it sent to our place in Florida. We are nearing the end of our Forchini wine and are ordering more as I write this. This place is a nice treasure in Healdsburg. Don't miss it. (we did not visit in July '12 but Trip Adviser doesn't give you options for other dates)
