Put this on your MUST VISIT list. We were greeted with sparkling wine in glasses that said "Happy Honeymoon". It was such a wonderful personal touch. From start to finish our experience was more than we could have ever imagined! Our guide/ambassador, Season, was sheer joy! She was knowledgeable, attentive and so much fun to be around. She made our experience wonderful, plus her sense of humor matched our so that didn't hurt. Oh! And the wine was great too. We will be reminiscing about our visit for a very long time!

The wife and I visited on a cold, rainy day in late December but the bad weather was quickly put behind us the moment we walked in and we’re handed our welcome Brut tasting as we were greeted by the hostess. Our wine ambassador, Season, was so knowledgeable about the wine making process, winery and local AVAs. She took us through tasting numerous wines, including stuff not on the tasting menu. They gave us some crackers to cleanse the pallets and dark chocolates to enrich some of the later reds. Delicious Chardonnay and Pinot noirs, so we took a few bottles home.

Excellent experience. We aren't huge wine drinkers (more into the craft beer scene!) so we've never taken the time to visit this area. But we were in Northern California to pick up our daughter from a pre-college program and thought it would be fun to do the Sonoma/Napa area for a couple of days. We chose to start our day here and were the first ones there which meant we got the primo corner spot on the patio providing amazing views! However, there is probably no bad spot at this place. Did get a bit warm as the sun started to rise and was beating down on us. The wines were excellent as was our host, Corey. He was friendly and gave us a lot of attention. Since we aren't really into wine, we didn't join the club, but he didn't act any differently toward us. Stunning architecture and decor as well.
Highly recommend and plan to visit again if in the area.

Importantly the wines are stunning. Location is perfect. The tasting space is stylish and comfortable in a beautiful setting overlooking the vineyards and RR valley. Contemporary but classic decor. Thoroughly recommended if visiting the area and genuinely interested in the local viniculture.
Informative and enthusiastic presentation by a very personable Season Leaf… out host. She led us through a generous and delicious journey of the wines and the winemaker, the vineyard and the whole Sonoma Coat area. We are seasoned winery visitors and this had been amongst one of the best. Make sure that girl is well paid!

The building is beautiful and has amazing art work. We sat outside and had a view to the vineyard. Staff was friendly. Unfortunately we thought the wine was just average.

Amazing views and beautiful tasting room. Andy was our host and so fun! Great wines, great .conversation, great information and Andy was a wealth of information! Very relaxing, no rush….just perfect!

Very beautiful scenery and great service. Check out the big tree on the property - perfect place to enjoy a tasting. Strict on reservations so don’t miss your time and don’t try to show up without one!

Beautiful view and perfect wine. Really enjoyed the entire tasting experience. One of the more busy places during our visit but with staffed and spaced safely. We ate outside on the terrace. But the entire place was beautifully decorated. Staff was very upbeat and helpful

This was our 3rd tasting of the day and Shelen our host was amazing. She had so much energy, knowledge and love for what she was doing. She made us feel special all while being very busy. I highly recommend putting in a request for her when visiting MacRostie.

There are dozens of vineyards but I wanted the quintessential setting to post pics for our trip. As an architect, I immediately recognized why the Owner wanted a Gould Evans design that featured natural materials, multiple patios, light & airy drama, interior volumes and framed views to Mt Saint Helena. This is that location. This is the award winning, new winery featured in the Robb Report. TIP!: Explore the sustainable design, admire the sycamores, look at floor plan framed on the wall and reserve the best seat on the property: The Corner Table on the North Terrace. Uncork, refresh and unwind my friends.

Does MacRostie allow visitors to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the property before/after completing their tasting?

I'm not sure. We didn't see anyone there having picnics when we were there. The property is gorgeous and would be a beautiful place for that. However, I think not as I really didn't see areas for that. I'm sure if you call or email the winery they can answer that for you easily. Enjoy!

How much time should I allow for a tasting and what would be considered acceptable attire?

They are slower than most tastings. I would say 1 to 1.25 hours. I saw people in all types of dress. Jeans with nice shirt/sweater seemed typical so a smart casual. Enjoy!
